Because she loves spending time in her birthday suit with one of the most eligible bachelors on the planet, Meghan Markle may soon be leaving the television show Suits.
According to a new report, the actress may not only leave the USA Network hit following its upcoming seventh season…
… she may say goodbye to Hollywood forever.
That’s what happens when you fall in love with a member of The Royal Family.
Markle, of course, has been dating Prince Harry for about a year now.
She spent more of last summer in London, sharing photos on her Instagram account, yet keeping her romance on the Down Low.
It was outed in the fall, however, with rumors and innuendo giving way to reality after Kensington Palace actually released a statement that confirmed Markle as Harry’s “girlfriend.”
Ever since this time, chatter has grown stronger each month that Markle and Harry will get engaged.
If that happens, how will it affect Markle’s role as Rachel on Suits?
The series films in Toronto and it seems highly unlikely that the wife of a prince would be permitted to be away from Great Britain on such a frequent basis.
Simple, a source tells E! News, Markle is prepared to leave the show behind.
“Even before Harry, she was starting to think about transitioning out of acting,” the insider says. “She wants to focus on other worldly endeavors she is passionate about, like her philanthropy.”
Indeed, Markle met Harry during a charity event in Canada last year.
She is passionate about projects that reach those far beyond Hollywood, having given a speech on International Women’s Day in 2015 at the United Nations about gender equality.
She is also a global ambassador for World Vision Canada; and has traveled to Rwanda for the organization’s Clear Water Campaign.
In January, the star spent a week in India on a World Vision Canada humanitarian mission to help impoverished women and girls.
This is clearly someone who doesn’t care about being in the spotlight, despite now being involved in such a high profile relationship.
In an essay for Elle U.K. awhile bacl, Markle wrote about trying to balance her commitments to her job and the entertainment industry with her charity work.
She made mention of one particular occasion when she was in a van heading back from a refugee camp in Rwanda and received an e-mail from her managers asking if she would be able to attend the BAFTAs.
“In that moment, my gut said no because while my two worlds can co-exist, I’ve learned that being able to keep a foot in both is a delicate balance,” she wrote, adding:
“No, they are not mutually exclusive but guiding my heart through the swinging pendulum from Hollywood fantasy to third-world reality is challenging in its own way.”
We can only imagine.
Most of Markle’s colleagues on Suits have remained mum on the topic of Meghan and Harry, staying away from all pregnancy rumors for certain.
But Patrick J. Adams did have the following to say last month when asked about Markle and the prince by E! News:
“I’m super excited for her. As you can imagine, it is a massive deal, obviously, if you hadn’t noticed. I didn’t wanna get involved. I just wanted to say, ‘I love you, I support you, I hope you’re happy. You seem really happy."”
“And if she ever needed anybody to talk to in the madness – ‘cause it is madness, it’s madness what the world puts somebody through when they’re going through this process.
“But if there’s anyone in the world who is designed to be able to deal with it and deal with it professionally, it’s Meghan Markle.”
