Well, it looks like yet another Duggar is soon to leave the compound.
So many members of the reality TV clan have gotten married in the past few years that a distinct pattern has emerged:
There’s a courtship for about three months, followed three-month engagement, then a massive wedding with upwards of 1,000 guests.
Based on that pattern, fans of the family believe that Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell are set to get hitched this weekend.
Joseph and Kendra got engaged back in May after a courtship period of – you guessed it – about three months.
So according to the schedule, a huge crowd of guests should be descending on Tontitown, Arkansas as we speak.
Adding to the belief that Joseph and Kendra are due to tie the knot on Saturday is the fact that the couple’s joint bachelor-bachelorette party was three weeks ago.
A period of a few weeks between the warm-up party and the big day is also customary in Duggarville.
Of course, if you follow the family closely on social media, you may be thinking that Joseph and Kendra have already revealed their wedding date as October 7.
And while that’s true (The date was revealed as part of wedding registry info “accidentally” posted online by Joy-Anna Duggar.), it’s widely believed that that was a decoy date meant to throw fans off the trail.
Shortly after that info went public, word spread that Joseph and Kendra had decided to “fast track” their wedding in order to avoid yet another Duggar family scandal.
As The Hollywood Gossip exclusively reported, sources close to the family claimed that Kendra courted Jedediah Duggar before transferring her affections to Joseph.
The reason why she switched to a different Duggar is unclear, but it may have something to do with the fact that Joseph is four years older, and thus, his family felt he should be married first.
Yes, the Duggars are playing by a very different set of rules than the rest of the world.
So despite some considerable turbulence along the way, it looks like Joe and Kendra may be set to tie the knot this weekend.
The family is typically very tight-lipped about this sort of thing, so we probably won’t find out about the nuptials until after the fact.
Then, of course, the whole wedding will be featured in a special episode of Counting On.
Because privacy is nice, but TV ratings are better.
