Lil Peep: New Details on Death of Young Singer Emerge

As previously reported, Lil Peep is dead at the young age of 21.

The popular YouTube star and burgeoning emo artist was found dead on Wednesday night, with initial reports linking his passing to an overdose of drugs.

Specifically, one outlet claimed that Lil Peep took some kind of fake Xanax that was laced with Fentanyl, a powerful opioid.

But no cause of death has actually been confirmed.

TMZ, however, has shared a few disturbing new details about the rapper’s death.

FIRST, the celebrity gossip website writes that Lil Peep’s body was discovered on his tour bus outside a club in Tucson, Arizona, where the artist was scheduled to perform.

SECOND, per law enforcements sources, TMZ says that Peep’s manager is the one who found his body, having gone to check on his client around 9:40 p.m.

There was apparently drug paraphernalia strewn all around him, along with evidence of a possible overdose, which was likely linked to Xanax, as mentioned above.

Is it possible Lil Peep committed suicide?

We hate to speculate on such a delicate topic.

We just know that Peep had shared a photo earlier in the day on Instagram with what appeared to be prescription pills on his tongue.

He wrote this as a caption:

“fucc it.”

Lil Peep had released his first album just three months ago.

Sarah Stennett, the CEO of First Access Entertainment – which partnered with Lil Peep last year – said in a statement:

“I am shocked and heartbroken. I do not believe Peep wanted to die, this is so tragic.

“He had huge ambition and his career was flourishing…

“I have spoken to his mother and she asked me to convey that she is very, very proud of him and everything he was able to achieve in his short life.”

Lil Peep, whose real name is Gustav Åhr, often spoke about his drug use in in his song lyrics.

“I suffer from depression and some days I wake up and I’m like, ‘F-ck, I wish I didn’t wake up,’” Peep told Pitchfork in an interview published in January.

“I don’t express that side of myself on social media. That’s the side of myself that I express through music. That’s my channel for letting all that sh-t out.”

The young artist was romantically linked to Bella Thorne as recently as September.

“Peep you deserved more out of life. Life didn’t do your greatness justice,” wrote the actress on Twitter in the wake of this sad news.

Thorne also shared a pair of videos to Instagram stories, emotionally reacting to Peep’s death in each.

“I just wanted to say anybody out there who is a Lil Peep fan, you guys know how talented he was, you guys know how great he was,” she said.

“Well he was even more f-cking great as a person.”

Added DJ Marshmello, who had toured with Peep this year:

Peep was the nicest person. hanging out with him, talking to him about music, the song ideas we were going to do together and touring was so amazing. Everyone will miss you man.

We send our condolences to everyone who knew and cared about Lil Peep.

May he rest in peace.
