The Voice Recap: Do We Have a Potential Winner?!

Night Four of the Blind Auditions brought some more excellent performances our way, but is anyone else getting the feeling the auditions are dragging on this time around?

It’s obvious who will make it through, but hey, NBC wants to milk the show to help boost ratings across the network.

The judging panel consisting of Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine has never been stronger than it is now, but which coach will nurture a singer all the way to the winning circle?

It’s not like it matters because we almost never hear from a winner again, but we’re sure it makes for some good talking points during salary negotiations with the coaches.

Let’s break down the five acts who were given the green light to continue their journey with the series.

Spensha Baker – “Blackbird”

Spensha appeared on the stage and wowed the coaches with her vocals that scaled heights we never knew was possible for a first audition.

Her rendition of The Beatles song was up there as one of the best of the season to date. Yes, she snagged a place on Team Blake, and we think that will be the best place for her.

Alexa Cappelli – “I’ve Got the Music in Me”

At first glance, Alexa came across as a dull performer, but she more than made up for it when she belted out the Kiki Dee classic.

She had the sass, charisma and seemed marketable as a young pop star. Kelly was enamored with her and even offered to sing a duet.

So, we think that was a positive performance.

Wilkes –  “One Headlight”

Then there was Wilkes. Wilkes was filled with big promises about how great his voice was, but the overall performance was just okay.

There was nothing about it that made us want to listen to him again. Alas, he joined Team Blake, and we’re not so sure he will last long.

Jaron Strom – “This Magic Moment”

Jaron had the charm and the looks, but he struggled with the vocals during this rendition of this Ben E. King number. He may get the votes from the teenage girls, but aside from that, he didn’t make much of an impression.

He joined Team Blake, but how long will he last?

Terrence Cunningham – “My Girl”

Talk about saving the best for last! Terrence hit all the high notes and changed things up for this The Temptations hit. His vocals were polished, and he is the type of person who will make it to the end.

He joined Team Alicia.
