When Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin finalized their divorce back in December of 2016, fans of the couple held out hope that they would one day reconcile.
And there were times when it looked like that might actually happen.
But more often, it seemed the best anyone could hope for was that Kail and Javi would be able to work out a civil co-parenting relationship for the sake of their son.
Recently, however, Javi remarked on his feelings toward Kail in a way that"s given fans a reason to be optimistic.
But is he simply getting their hopes up for nothing? Here"s what we know so far…
1. On Speaking Terms
After a series of rough patches, Kail and Javi are once again in communication with one another. It’s a step in the right direction, and it looks like it might be the first of many…
2. The Roughest Patch
News that Kail and Javi are working on their relationship comes on the heels of their most troubled time since they broke up. Javi briefly dated Kail’s rival, Briana DeJesus, and Ms. Lowry was understandably less than thrilled about it.
3. A Canceled Collaboration
Around that time, relations between Kail and Javi deterorated to the point that they called off a planned book collaboraton simply because they couldn’t stand to work with one another.
4. The Low Point
In the weeks that followed, Kail and Javi openly criticized one another in interviews and even their most stalwart ‘shippers were forced to concede that it looked as though all hope was lost. Worse, it seemed impossible that the exes would ever be able to cobble together some semblance of a friendship.
5. Last-Minute Miracle
Just when it looked as though Kail and Javi would never speak again, however, a surprising development gave fans a sliver of hope. Seemingly out of the blue, Javi and Briana called it quits!
6. An Interesting Motivation
Apparently, Javi and Bri broke up over her decision to undergo addtional plastic surgery. Interestingly, Kail canceled her procedure with the same doctor just a week earlier. Could the situation have made Javi realize he chose the wrong woman?
