We’re very sorry that the Gosselin family is back in the news.
Trust us, we wish this were not the case and that you never had to read about Kate or Jon ever again.
But Kate Gosselin has actually signed on to anchor her very own dating show, and she’s agreed to a deal with People Magazine to promote said show.
As part of this deal, the publication actually spoke on record to 17-year old twins Mady and Cara, about whom Kate recently said the following when it comes to her love life:
“Now that they’re older and talking about dating and how they’re all gonna get married someday … it became apparent: they want someone for me.
“They want me to have somebody in my life.”
Along these lines, except the exact opposite, Mady and Cara have opened up to People and said some rather harsh things about their dad.
Specifically, they claim that Jon Gosselin is NOT a person who is currently in their life.
“He makes it seem like we’re being kept from him, which is insane,” Mady says, adding:
“He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don’t want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen.”
Wow, huh? Ouch!
Back in November, we reported that Jon was going to fight for custody of his children.
But take one look at his Instagram page and you may not even realize he has children, considering the entire thing is practically filled with nothing but posters such as the one above.
That is, ads for Jon’s appearances at various clubs that have hired him as a DJ for some reason.
“He doesn’t even know us,” Mady also tells People. “How can he dare to talk about us?
This is the harshest and most straightforward we’ve ever heard any Gosselin kids speak about their father.
Jon did wish his twins a happy 17th birthday six months ago, but that was the last reference he made to them on social media.
Kate and Jon rose to fame well over a decade ago as the leads of Jon & Kate Plus 8.
They surprised absolutely no one who watched their painful marriage on television when they announced their separation in 2009.
Since then, Jon has focused on his DJing career, while battling Kate for custody of the twins and sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Leah and Joel, who turn 14 next month.
However, in August of 2016, Mady and Cara said that they weren’t speaking to their dad, who had given interviews to some media outlets about his strained relationship with his daughters.
Of course, Kate has also discussed her kids often in public.
This right here is a photo of them on the set of The View.
But one big difference, it seems, is that Kate hasn’t bad-mouthed her sons or daughters.
She hasn’t blamed them for any kind of poor relationship and she has seemingly always asked for their permission any time they were placed in the spotlight.
Don’t get us wrong, Kate Gosselin sucks a whole lot, too.
We aren’t very big fans of her and we’d rather watch Chrisley Knows Best over her ridiculous upcoming dating show
But she does seem to at least know the names of all her children.
We’re not entirely sure the same thing can be said of Jon.
