Dog the Bounty Hunter: Beth Chapman is Now Cancer-Free!
Back in September, we all heard the grim news that Dog the Bounty Hunter"s wife, Beth Chapman, was diagnosed with throat cancer.
It"s only been a little more than two months, and we already have a great update on that front: she is now cancer-free.
In the video below, you"ll see Dog and Beth receive the very good news, and the whole family"s response.
Dog The Bounty Hunter, whose real name is Duane Chapman, is a larger-than-life, eccentric, and often controversial reality personality.
But no, he"s not actually a parody. This is a real person.
And so is his wife, Beth Chapman.
A&E"s series Dog The Bounty Hunter captivated audiences in its run from 2004 to 2012, and that was only the start of the couple"s reality career.
This time, Beth even made the title of CMT"s Dog & Beth: On the Hunt. That series ran from 2013 to 2015.
Even people who never sat down and actually watched Dog and Beth on either series developed some affection for the couple, particularly as they were parodied. Both Dog and Beth were memorably portrayed on South Park, for example.
So the news that Beth Chapman was diagnosed with Stage II throat cancer had a far reach.
But obviously, no one was more impacted than Beth and her actual loved ones.
In the A&E special, Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives, we see Dog answer the phone.
We can"t hear what"s being said to him, and he keeps a fairly straight face.
(It"s reality television, folks — you gotta build that drama, and Dog knows that)
But he was hearing the results of a pathology report on Beth, who has clearly (as you"ll see in the video) been treated for the cancer that had been impairing her ability to speak.
Dog walks over to Beth and her family, who are all clearly hoping for the best but perhaps fearing the worst.
Dog delivers the news:
The pathology report was negative — there"s no cancer detected!
Beth is relieved, and comes forward and hugs Dog, who also speaks to the camera about the results:
"There is a God. This could be a miracle. This could be a healing."
Dog has never been shy about his Christian beliefs, often expressing them to fugitives whom he captured on camera.
Dog continued:
"[The doctor] said if I wasn"t such a good husband it wouldn"t have worked out that great. Oh I can breathe. Beth Chapman, you did it."
We"re trying to imagine what the doctor might have said along those lines — maybe "it"s good that you were supportive of your wife; cancer patients need that."
We know that it sounds like Dog is trying to take credit for Beth"s remission but he just talks a little strangely.
Anyway, we are absolutely delighted by the news. Obviously, no one"s stake in this was as personal as Beth"s, but the world can breathe a sigh of relief.
Cancer is the absolute worst.
In this video below, in addition to the good news and Beth"s family"s reactions, you can see Dog express his fears.
No one wants to have to bury a loved one, and Dog is among them. He says that he would want to die before Beth because he doesn"t know that he could bear it.
That"s understandable. Maybe now he won"t have to think about that for a long while. Hopefully, ever again.

Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman: It"s Over!
There are some cases where, for reasons that the public can seldom understand, the wife of a man accused of something as simple as cheating or as monstrous as sexual assault will stand by her man. That’s the whole premise of The Good Wife, sort of.
That’s not true of every wife, however.
After all of the accusations against Harvey Weinstein that have come out into the open and been made public, Georgina Chapman is parting ways with the former big-name studio executive after ten years of marriage.
Considering that Harvey Weinstein has been fired from his own company — the Weinstein Company — it’s not all that surprising that his wife is taking drastic steps, too.
After these kinds of allegations, it would be hard to understand anyone who wouldn’t put some distance between themselves and the accused.
First came the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment accusations in a New York Times expose.
After decades of rumors, the biggest surprise wasn’t the nature of the accusations so much as that the article was actually published. A lot of the times, powerful people pull strings and call in favors to make problems go away.
Some of the allegations were creepy but not damning — stories about him promising young actresses that he’d boost their careers if they did certain things for him. That’s gross, but there are situations (clearly not involving Weinstein) where both parties might consent to that sort of arrangement in a way that would benefit everyone.
The other accusations that came out in that same expose — about coercing women to drink and watch him shower, about pulling out his penis without invitation and masturbating before an unwilling audience — were beyond just creepy. Some of those things are crimes and none of them are okay.
Things looked bleak for Harvey Weinstein, and he was condemned by major names in Hollywood. But accusations sexual misconduct is something that a lot of powerful men can and do somehow get past
Hell, some people who are accused of sexual assault and also famously recorded bragging about it go on to become President. Men with money can get away with a lot.
Then, yesterday, the New Yorker released more — allegations of Harvey Weinstein committing sexual assault again and again and again.
A number of actresses came forward as accusers, and his is now accused of outright rape.
Suddenly, his powerful former friends are returning his donations but not his calls.
Weinstein’s career is almost certainly history at this point. And so, it seems, is his marriage.
Georgina Chapman is a British actress and designer.
Now 41, she married Harvey Weinstein in 2007.
The couple has two children together: India Pearl, who is 7 years old, and Dashiell Max Robert, who is 4.
In a statement to People, Georgina Chapman reveals that she and Harvey Weinstein are separating.
“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”
We’ve seen a number of extremely bad takes on Harvey Weinstein since this story began to break, but his wife’s statement is exactly on point.
First, she expresses sympathy for his victims.
Second, she makes it clear that sexual assault is unforgivable — which it is.
Third, she announces that she’s leaving Harvey Weinstein.
And fourth, she emphasizes that she’s putting her children first, which is what every parent should always, always do.
Rose McGowan is naming names, exposing people whom she claims knew about Weinstein’s pattern of predatory behavior and either did nothing or participated in the cover-up.
(Honestly, bless Rose McGowan for having zero chill about anything, ever)
Harvey Weinstein already seems like he’s toast, but it could cost others — possibly even Ben Affleck — his career.
Something tells us that there are more accusations against Harvey Weinstein out there that just haven’t come to light yet.

Beth Chapman: Dog The Bounty Hunter Star Diagnosed With Throat Cancer
Beth Chapman, the wife of Dog the Bounty Hunter, is battling stage two throat cancer.
The star confirmed the news to Radar Online.
“As most of you know I’ve spent a lifetime facing tests and challenges I didn’t see coming and certainly never expected,” Chapman’s statement begins.
“I’ve been dealt my share of unexpected blows over the course of my almost fifty years but nothing as serious as the one I heard from my doctors two weeks ago when they uttered those dreaded three words, ‘You have cancer."”
The reality star has confirmed it is a T2 tumor in her throat and it is affecting her breathing. The big issue plaguing the Dog the Bounty Hunter star is that doctors want surgery to proceed before the disease spreads.
“To be certain, I’ve stared down the devil more than once in my life but I’ve never faced a real life or death decision. My life has never been easy, and I surely don’t expect it to start now,” she wrote.
“Still, I’ve never been a victim and I won’t let cancer beat me. I realize the road I am about to travel will be rocky, full of unexpected twists and turns. But I know one thing for sure. A bend in the road is not the end of the road.”
It’s certainly a good way of looking at things. While some people would break down at the thought of such a harsh disease taking over their body, Beth is not ready to give up and sees this as a mere hurdle along the way.
“I will fight every step of the way. My husband and children are counting on me to be there for years to come,” Beth wrote to her followers. “I am so very grateful to be surrounded by family and friends who have given me incredible support during this very challenging time.”
Beth became a firm favorite with fans of reality TV when she appeared on Dog the Bounty Hunter with her husband, Duane Chapman and their family.
The series was a huge hit, airing from 2004-2012, but that was not the end of their grip on the reality TV world. After leaving A&E behind, they moved over to CMT to headline Dog & Beth: On the Hunt.
That show aired from 2013-2015, and the family has steered clear from the reality TV cameras since, but that’s not to say they are not still very popular.
They still have legions of fans across of the world.
