Cruise Ship Brawls: Horrified Passengers Ran For Their Cabins

Cruise ships are just supposed to be places where a bunch of drunk strangers form a giant petri dish of potential ailments while trying to enjoy themselves.

But one recent South Pacific cruise was totally derailed by brawling passengers engaging in fights. The cruise line lays the blame at the feet at 23 members of one Italian family.

Warning: the video below, which shows just one of the brawls from aboard the cruise ship, may be disturbing due to its content.

Cruise ship brawl 01

At the beginning of this video — a recording of one of multiple brawls, only some of which were filmed — a quick-thinking cruise passenger on this Carnival Legends ship can at first only see the periphery of the fight.

And, of course, hear the screams.

Most of the passengers were apparently Australian. The man recording the video below certainly sounds like he was.

As the brawl moves closer, a number of people flee to avoid being drawn into it or injured by the participants.

You"d think that a fight on a boat would have a vibe like something out of a pirate movie, at least.

instead, this looks like an unarmed version of The Purge.

Cruise ship brawl 02

To add to the disturbing elements of this video, people who appear to be cruise ship employees are shown appearing to engage in two different unacceptable behaviors.

One person who appears to work security is shown repeatedly kicking a man who is laying on the ground. It appears that someone throws themselves over that man"s body to protect him.

Some reports claim that the man on the ground is a 17-year-old boy. Either way, that looks horrible.

Multiple employees appear to try to deter filming, which is not even acceptable when actual police do it.

Some reports claim that cruise ship employees stole people"s phones in order to delete incriminating videos.

Cruise ship brawl 03

The key culprits in the actual brawling and fighting, however, were reportedly members of a 23-member Italian family.

One cruise passenger described this "big Italian family" assailing other passengers, resulting in people "getting strangled and punched up."

"Very violent, they were full-on attacks."

At least one passenger called his father in Australia to plead for him to get the government to send help.

Though members of the crew eventually locked a number of passengers in their rooms after days of terror, there wasn"t really a place where they could lock up a couple dozen troublemakers.

Cruise ships don"t have the authority to make people walk the plank, folks.

Cruise ship brawl 04

Some passengers point to what they believe to be the real culprit.

One chose to blame alcohol, as many passengers have unlimited passes to the bar.

Which, she claimed, means that a lot of people are just super drunk by 6 or 7 in the evening.

The problem with that accusation is that this cruise ship, which was traveling from Melbourne to New Caledonia, had 2000 people on board.

Two thousand. Versus what, a couple dozen — let"s say a few dozen — troublemakers.

This wasn"t an alcohol problem, this was a terrible people being violent problem.

Cruise ship brawl 05

The frightening brawls sent a number of guests to lock themselves in their cabins for their own safety. Not exactly an ideal vacation.

Carnival Cruise Line says that they"ve sent people to provide comfort to passengers who were understandably upset.

Apparently they offered passengers 25% off on a future cruise, which is … well, that"s gotten a mixed reception.

Some passengers aren"t planning on ever going on another Carnival Cruise Line, as you may recall that some were just as horrified by the behavior of employees as they were by the brawlers.

So a 25% discount — or one of 100% doesn"t mean that much.

Watch this video, if you"re feeling up to it, and decide for yourself if that"s an experience that you"d want to risk repeating:

Escaping Polygamy Season 3 Trailer: Prepare to Be Horrified

A new season of Escaping Polygamy is coming in about two weeks. With it, we"ll get more heartbreaking stories of people victimized by controlling religious cults.

Hopefully, as the title suggests, we"ll also get the stories of people escaping and starting news lives.

The trailer for the new season is below, and it gives us a glimpse at the horror stories that this season will confront. Brace yourselves.

First of all, if you haven"t watched Escaping Polygamy before, it"s an A&E docuseries about helping people who want to be free of their fundamentalist lives to break away.

Ten years ago, Andrea, Jessica, and Shanell escaped their fundamentalist cult, The Order, based in Salt Lake City with the help of their aunt.

In a nationally publicized court case, the girls managed to make their escape permanent.

Now, these three sisters have devoted their lives to helping others — not only other women and children, but also men — escape from these harrowing cult situations that feel inescapable.

It"s important to remember that these groups are very controlling, so help is certainly needed for someone to be brave enough to break away.

It"s even more important to remember that, while many members do sign up for these lives, many more are born into these isolationist communities and never know the outside world.

Many don"t know what they"d do if they got out into the world.

So there"s more that these girls and others who do this sort of work can do to help people to step away than just offering them a ride back to civilization.

Admittedly, calling it Escaping Polygamy is a somewhat misleading title.

(Though it"s a super eye-catching one)

The problem with "polygamist cults" like the Order or the FLDS isn"t that people have multiple partners or even spouses.

Polyamory can and does lead to wonderful and fulfilling relationships that last just as long as monogamous ones.

And some polyamorous relationships are purely polygamous — where there"s one man in a relationship with two or more women.

But that"s not what these groups are at all.

The problem with them is that their particular fundamentalist beliefs involve carefully controlling its members lives, oppressing women, and sexually preying upon underage girls under the guise of a religious mandate.

"Escaping Fundamentalism" would be a more controversial and less salacious title for some Americans, however.

This season, the girls are helping members of the FLDS, a fundamentalist offshoot of Mormonism that was until very recently ruled (yes, ruled) by the infamous Warren Jeffs.

One of the people featured in this season, as you"ll see in the trailer below, is Warren Jeffs" own son, who very appropriately has zero kind things to say about his father.

And he does not mince words:

"My father molested girls."

Yes, Warren Jeffs is absolutely in prison where he belongs, which is the very least that he deserves.

(Current leadership of the FLDS following his incarceration isn"t publicly known, but there are four possibilities — one of which being that Jeffs, as the cult of estimated 10,000 members" Prophet, is still the church"s leader from behind bars)

The trailer also shows us a very emotional man admitting that he wants to leave, but that he cannot leave without his family.

The season will feature more, however.

According to a press release for the series, we can expect to see:

"A mother hoping to find her daughters who have been hidden within an elite group in the FLDS community."

Horrifying.

As unthinkable as it is for us, some people can"t take their children with them when they escape — or are forced out.

(We don"t know if she fled or was excommunicated)

Sometimes, the best way to help someone whom you love is to seek out help, even though our justice system is woefully unequipped to protect the welfare of children.

And there"s more from that press release:

"And a young girl who desperately wants to rescue the love of her life in a dangerous mission that further exposes the dark and treacherous realities of polygamy."

Well, we"ll be having nightmares just from this trailer.

But this is a docuseries where the drama and suspense doesn"t have to be fabricated by producers.

If you"re tired of the manufactured tension on reality television but still want to see real people in their unscripted, human stories, Escaping Polygamy might be the series for you.

At the very least, you might want to check out this trailer.

You should hear these people"s stories in their own voices.

Vanessa Hudgens Raps at Billboard Music Awards: See Drake"s Horrified Reaction!

Vanessa Hudgens co-presented the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, and, naturally, that meant she burst into song at several points throughout the three-hour extravaganza.

At one point, she showed off her vocal prowess by singing "The Power of Love." Yes, that Celine Dion song. Surprisingly, the singer nailed the performance, and the audience seemed to be loving it.

Before the show even took place, Vanessa credited Celine by saying that she was the reason her vocal range was as good as it is.

However, Vanessa also tried to rap during the show, and it was a resounding failure. Like, if there were an award for the worst performance, Vanessa would have won it.

This was all down to Ludacris who urged his co-host to try it.

When Vanessa started singing the verse from "Monster," the camera cut straight to Drake, who looked appalled at what his eyes and ears were witnessing.

Considering Drake won a mammoth 13 awards at the event, we think it"s fair to say he knows a thing or 10 about music.

He didn"t flat-out say anything negative to the former High School Musical star, but you could tell he was not impressed.

When he went up to accept his next award, however, he was all smiles and complimented Hudgens for her appearance.

"I just want to say, Vanessa Hudgens, you look incredible tonight," Drake told her as she gushed at him.

Nicki Minaj was visibly jealous at not having a shout out from Drake and could be seen yelling, "What about me?!"

Nicki got her wish, and Drake noted that he was glad they were friends again.

"I"m so glad we found our way back because I love you, and I could never ever ever see it any other way."

Have a look at the full video below!

Kate Middleton Asked About Weight Loss, Universe Horrified

OMG never ask a woman who isn’t your best friend in the whole entire world how she lost her baby weight.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a tour of India, and the language barrier can sometimes be a tricky one.

During a garden party celebrating the Queen’s upcoming 90th birthday, Catherine was asked by a professor how she bounced back after having Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Professor Bulbul Dhar-James teaches political science at Jamia Millia Islamia University, and was one of the guests fortunate enough to speak with Catherine.

“We said ‘how do you lose all the weight after having two kids?’ And she said ‘I am running after my kids,’” the academic told reporters, according to The Duchess Diary

”I asked her ‘aren’t you tired of smiling?’

“And she said, ‘I’m just reciprocating. Everyone is so warm.’

“They were both really gracious,” she added. “She was so welcoming and warm.

“We told her ‘You look much better in person than in your photographs.’”

What a lovely back-handed compliment!

Catherine wore an intricately-beaded top and skirt by Temperley London for the event, where Prince William delivered a speech from Her Majesty thanking India for their well-wishes.

William and Catherine continue their tour through April 16th, rounding out the trip with an photo in front the Taj Mahal, as his mother, the late Princess of Wales did in 1992.

Kate Middleton Sets Up Commoner Playdates For George, Royals Horrified?!

Can you imagine?  Regular jamokes running around a ten-bedroom home on the Queen’s estate? Or raising hell in a palace?  The horror.

JK.

My peeps over at Celebrity Dirty Laundry are at it again, this time accusing the Duchess of Cambridge of allowing her son and third-in-line to the British throne, Prince George to play with commoners.

Much to the dismay of the royal family and – in particular – Queen Elizabeth, Catherine is planning playdates for Prince George with other children from Westacre Montessori school in Norfolk, England.

“Does Kate Middleton plan on having mummy wine and cheese parties while Prince George has the run of Anmer Hall with his little chums from Westacre Montessori?”

Probably not, since Catherine’s not too keen on the bottle.

“Will a butler pass ‘round a tray of Prince Charles’ finest cheeses?”

Well, William and Catherine do have a housekeeper, but I dare say there’s a Mr. Carson lookalike standing behind Her Royal Highness, ready to serve cheese.

Speaking of which, Duchy Originals has a wide variety of products, so it wouldn’t be totally out of question to serve “fine cheese” from Prince Charles.

“Perhaps Camilla Parker-Bowles brought back some interesting wines from the Wales’s trip to Australia and New Zealand.  Do you think Camilla Parker-Bowles would miss a bottle – or 10 – of wine from her private stash?”

No, because she’s President of the United Kingdom Vineyards Association, so it’s likely she’s cool with letting the moms get squiffy while the kids take advantage of country life.

Thanks for updating us on the imaginary class divide William and Catherine are upholding.

Just like his parents, Prince George will probably have lots of non-royal and/or non-arisocratic friends.
