Alanis Morissette Welcomes Second Child!

Alanis Morissette shared some happy news today.

The singer and her husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway are now the proud parents of a baby girl!

Morissette made the announcement on Twitter with a photo of her new daughter.

“She’s here! onyx solace morissette-treadway June 23 2016,” she tweeted, adding, “#beyondblessed.”

Indeed, little Onyx looks like a gem.

This is the second child for the couple, who welcomed their first child, son Ever Imre, in December of 2010.

Morissette and rapper Treadway tied the knot earlier in 2010 at a private ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.

“So happy to share with you that my man, Souleye, and I got married,” she wrote on Facebook.

“We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other.”

Back in 2012, when Ever was 17 months old, the Canadian crooner stirred up some controversy involving her child.

In an interview with Good Morning America, she revealed that she might continue to breastfeed her son until he’s six.

“I’ll stop whenever he wants,” she said in support of breastfeeding moms everywhere.

“I know some children who have weaned naturally at two years, some kids wean naturally a couple of years later; I mean, it’s up to every child,” she explained.

Whatever they choose, we are happy for her family’s new addition.

Alanis Morissette: Pregnant with Baby #2!

It isn’t ironic, but it’s still true:

Alanis Morissette is pregnant again!

The singer-songwriter is expecting her second child with husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway, according to both her spokesperson and also a unique video Morissette recorded way back in 2010.

Morissette confirmed the exciting news on her website today, sharing an animated piece footage and a song that concludes with the couple – along with 5-year-old son Ever Imre – gazing at ultrasound images of their impending new family member.

Wrote Morissette as a caption to the video:

“The story of my nuclear family in moving pictures, brings us up to this sweet moment.

“[The song was] written, recorded and produced in 6 hours on May 22, 2010 with Guy Sigsworth, on the sly, to surprise Souleye. Brendan Huza helped tell our story.

“May this song take on ever-deepening meaning as each year goes by.”

Morissette and Treadway got married in 2010.

We send our very best wishes to the singer, her rapper of a husband and to their evolving family.

Here is a look, meanwhile, at how some other famous people have made this same major announcement over the years:

Demi Lovato and Alanis Morissette "Oughta Know" at AMAs

WARNING to all men around America: do not mess with Demi Lovato.

Or Alanis Morissette, for that matter. But we already knew that.

Billed by ABC ahead of time as an “epic” duet, the singers came together on stage at the 2015 American Music Awards and took us back in time to 1995.

In celebration of Morissette released her iconic album, “Jagged Little Pill,” the Canadian star teamed up with Lovato for a rendition of “You Oughta Know.”

The performance of this anger-filled breakup anthem actually marked Morissette"s first-ever time performing at the American Music Awards, despite having won two of its trophies back in the day, Favorite Pop/Rock Female and Favorite Pop/Rock Album in 1997.

In August, meanwhile, Morissette also performed “You Oughta Know” with Taylor Swift as part of the latter’s 1989 tour.

Moreover, she stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden to update Ironic in hilarious fashion just a couple weeks ago.

Isn"t it nice to have Alanis back in our lives?!?

Which version do you like better? That of Alanis and Taylor or that of Alanis and Demi?

There"s an easy way to find out: Click the link above to listen/watch the former and watch the video below to check out the latter.

(Note to Wilmer Valderrama:  We"re not kidding, dude. After viewing this footage, you are going to want to stay loyal to Lovato. She means business.

Hot, vengeful, vindictive business. Don"t cheat, man.)

Alanis Morissette Updates "Ironic" Lyrics, Nails it

Back when some of you were just learning to hold a bottle, the rest of us were enjoying the bittersweet sounds of Alanis Morissette.

Morissette"s CD, Jagged Little Pill, was released in June 1995, and since the interweb wasn"t advanced enough to master the whole "online shopping" thing,  we the people had to haul ass to Tower Records if we wanted play "You Oughtta Know" on repeat.

One of my favorite singles from the album is "Ironic," ah delightfully catchy tune about life"s WTF everything is the worst "aww hell" moments.

Morissette performed her song live on The Late Late Show last night with host James Corden, and even updated the lyrics to reflect these trying times of "Swiping left on your soul mate," "It"s like Netflix, but you own DVDs," and the worst offender, "It"s like you"re first class…on a Southwest plane, then you realize that every seat is the same."

It was like being back in a coffee house, listening to some chick wearing a beanie and long, hippie hair sing about the lemons life hands her.
