Ruby Rose Will Play Lesbian Superhero Batwoman on New CW Series!

It’s time for some great casting news!

Ruby Rose will be joining the CW’s Arrowverse. She will be playing Batwoman as the titular character in the upcoming TV series.

Even before that series premieres, fans will get to see her make an appearance as Batwoman.

Greg Berlanti is living his best life. He is producing Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Titans, and more.

And soon, he and writer Caroline Dries will have a new series for The Cw: Batwoman.

The character of Batwoman will make her first appearance before her show even begins, because she will have a role on his December’s big DC crossover event.

And The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Batwoman will be played by Ruby Rose.

Ruby also a model and recording artist, and is noted for acting roles on Orange Is The New Black and Dark Matter as well as film roles like John Wick II and The Meg.

This is great news!

If you’re not familiar with the character of Batwoman, you should start off by knowing that she is emphatically not Batman’s girlfriend.

In fact, Batwoman is Bruce Wayne’s cousin. Also, she’s a lesbian. Her name is Kate Kane.

Like her cousin, she utilizes combat skills, detective work, and gadgetry in order to combat her city’s criminal element.

The Batwoman series will follow Kate Kane as she pursues her interest in social justice and her training in street fighting, battling her inner demons and also battling crime in Gotham.

There have been a number of versions of Kate’s story over the years — that’s the nature of comics. It’s likely that fans will see both new and familiar elements of Kate as they watch her joint he Arrowverse.

While Batwoman won’t be the DC’s first lesbian superhero on the CW (for example, there is Anissa Pierce, aka Thunder on Black Lightning), or the first LGBT+ lead on a DC show (that would be Sara Lance on Legends of Tomorrow), she will be the first gay lead.

Showrunners had decided from the get-go that they wanted to cast an openly gay actress for the role.

Representation is important, and a lot of heterosexual actors have been hailed as “brave” for portraying LGBT+ characters over the years.

Ruby Rose, who came out as gay when she was 12, and was dating Jess Origliasso of The Veronicas until April of this year, is a great fit.

The Arrowverse is affirming its commitment to representation with Nicole Maines, a trans woman who will play a trans superhero, joining Supergirl as a series regular next season.

When the news of her casting broke, Ruby took to Instagram to confirm it to her followers.

“The Bat is out of the bag,” Ruby’s captions begin. “And I am beyond thrilled and honored.”

“I’m also,” she admits. “An emotional wreck.”

This means so much to her, she explains, “because this is a childhood dream.”

“This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community,” Ruby says. “Who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different.”

Kids and teens need representation, too.

“Thank you everyone,” Ruby says. “Thank you god.”

We still do not know which other characters will be featured on Batwoman, let alone who will play them.

(We all have our fancasts of who should play Renee Montoya — a comics character often associated with Batwoman, though, like Harley Quinn, Montoya was originally conceived in the 1990s for Batman: The Animated Series)

Batwoman is expected to air on the CW, while other upcoming live-action DC shows like Titans, Doom Patrol, and Swamp Thing will be making their debut on the DC Universe streaming app, which is now available for preorder.

Bridezillas Exclusive: Did Ruby Just Create Groomzilla?!?

Bridezillas has only been back on the air for a month, and we think it"s fair to say the drama has been off the charts. 

The new season has had a bride kicking a kid"s bicycle, a bride walking down the street with curlers in her hair yelling into her phone, and a bride throwing her wedding cake to the ground. 

It"s hard to believe that things are only going to get crazier as this hit WeTV series continues and we have an exclusive clip to prove it. 

Ruby and Joe form one of two couples who will be appearing on Friday"s episode, and there"s a big issue as the wedding day kicks off:

Joe has not had his haircut, and Ruby is freaking the hell out about it.

During scenes that all but confirm the best drama is cooked up from reality TV, Ruby takes drastic action to try and get her man to change his mind and have his hair cut. 

"I get married at 6 pm, and my stress level is really close to a ten," Ruby says while waving a tiara as the clip begins. 

"Right now, I"m really worried about Joe"s f—–g hair. I will make it look so horrible that he has to get his haircut."

On the surface, it may seem like an empty threat, but Ruby legit struts into the bedroom and shaves a chunk of Joe"s hair off as he sleeps. 

Talk about a rude awakening. 

"Are you f—–g kidding me?" Joe yells as he realizes that his hair is all over his pillow. 

From that point, things take a comical turn (serious for Joe!) when Ruby says that an appointment has been made for Joe to have his hair fixed. 

"She f—–g shaved my damn side of my head. I don"t even know if it"s fixable. Like, she went too far," Joe says to the audience as a sad-faced emoji appears on the screen. 

"I"m like this close," he says, before confirming that him "not showing up" at the wedding is actually a possibility. 

Oh yes, this is going to be a fun episode!

Ruby Rose: Kicked Out of Restaurant After Throwing Fries at Bartender

Ruby Rose was thrown out of a New Orleans restaurant after throwing French fries at a bartender following an altercation, reports Gossip Cop.

That part is true.

But the accounts of what led to the ejection differ vastly.

Both the restaurant’s owner Seung Hong and Rose have offered up their sides of the story for us to dissect and analyze.

Allow us to present the dichotomous explanations:

Restaurant owner’s side of the story:

Seung claims that Rose and her friends showed up without a reservation on Friday night, but after recognizing her, found her a table in the busy restaurant within 15 minutes.

As far as we know, Rose’s alleged new girlfriend Nina Dobrev was not in attendance.

When the appetizers took 40 minutes to arrive and were followed by the entrees 10 minutes later, Rose threw a fit.

After the waiter failed to diffuse the situation, Hong intervened and offered to comp her appetizers plus throw in a round of drinks, which she refused.

Hong claims Rose was “losing her cool” and said she would kick his ass if she were bigger.

At some point, the bartender offered a round of drinks, but Rose responded by cursing him out and throwing French fries at him.

Hong described Rose as a “horrible person” and said it was the first time he’s ever had to ask someone to leave.

Ruby Rose’s side of the story:

The Orange Is the New Black star gave her version on Facebook, referring to the incident as “Fry-day the 13th.”

Rose, who was grabbing a bite at the eatery before a deejaying gig in the city, said she waited for the appetizers for 60 minutes and 90 minutes for “food that actually never arrived.”

When she asked about it, the bartender offered drinks, which she declined because she is sober.

The bartender responded with some “really rude and vulgar comments,” and it hit a nerve.

“When someone makes repeated derogatory jokes about the sobriety I worked so hard to achieve, it’s hard not to react emotionally,” she wrote.

“So I threw a singular fry at him,” she continued. “Then he came back as we were getting ready to leave and continued making awful comments, so I continued with the fries.”

She went on to say she regrets her behavior, but we’re not sure if she’s apologizing to the French fry or she just made a typo.

“I am deeply regretful to the French fry and I am regretful that I reacted at all,” she wrote.

“Maybe next time I won’t throw fries, then again, maybe next time that bartender won’t tell someone who is sober to “go call your f**king sponsor!”

Oof.

Rose went on to say she worked in hospitality for five years as has deep respect for service industry staff plus mad love for New Orleans and offered dinner at her place next time.

In the past, Rose has had no problems defending herself and her friends, such as when she went off on Kanye West for his misogynistic comments about Taylor Swift.

But let’s face it, Kanye deserved that.

As with most stories, it’s impossible to know who’s right, but I think we can all agree the real tragedy here is all those fries that went to waste.

Nina Dobrev & Ruby Rose: New Couple Alert??

Move over, Gwen and Blake.

The gossip gods have fingered a new “it” couple on the horizon, and they’re a right pretty pair.

Nina Dobrev is reportedly taking a break from penis and found her soul mate in Ruby Rose, surmises Celeb Dirty Laundry.

The actresses are currently filming xXx: The Return of Xander Cage together, and have reportedly gotten real chummy on set.

The two have been playing practical jokes on each other, having fun and sharing their shenanigans to Instagram.

But what is the dead giveaway that proves these two are now an item?

Nina said some nice stuff about Ruby.

“Ruby is a force to be reckoned with, and I am beyond lucky to have her as a co-star and to be able to call her a good friend,” the former Vampire Diaries star was quoted as saying in the New York Post.

“She’s hard-working, focused, funny, professional, fiercely determined and a lot of fun to be around,” she continued.

Uh-huh. What else?

Well, argues CDL, they’re both single. And, ya know, Ruby likes girls.

So obviously.

Nina of course dated Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder for two years, and last year went public with her relationship with Austin Stowell.

Those two split up earlier this year, and she was seen getting her flirt on at Coachella with Scott Eastwood.

Ruby reportedly ended her engagement to Phoebe Dahl last year.

We probably don’t have to point out that there’s an awful lot of presumption going on here, but who knows?

Gossip rags have been right in the past, so I guess we’ll just have to see how this plays out.

Ruby Roes Goes OFF on Kanye West: How Dare You Attack Taylor!

As you may have heard, Kanye West debuted his new album, The Life of Pablo, at Madison Square Garden last night, and – as is pretty much always the case when Kanye’s involved – the evening was not without its share of controversy.

Most of the morning-after negative press has centered around lyrics in which Kanye West calls Taylor Swift a “b-tch.” Reps for Swift have expressed their distaste for the song’s “misogynistic message,” but Taylor herself has thus far kept it classy, as always. Fortunately, she has friends who are willing to go attack dog for her.

Ruby Rose is certainly one of the more badass members of the Swift Squad, and she went off on Yeezy in epic fashion on Twitter last night:

“Too many lines crossed,” she tweeted about Kanye. “If I put myself in the shoes of the women he has hurt recently. Victims of Bill Cosby, The Slut shaming, Amber…

“And now my dear friend Taylor.. Right before another huge moment for her.. Can I still support him and call myself a feminist? A friend? No.”

Yes, it wasn’t just Kanye’s bizarre comment about Swift that Rose took issue with, but also his recent attacks on Amber Rose and baffling claim that Bill Cosby is innocent.

When Yeezy stans came out of the woodwork claiming that Rose was essentially putting words in Swift’s mouth, the Aussie model revealed that she had firsthand knowledge of how Taylor reacted to the song:

“I was talking to Taylor last night,” Ruby tweeted. “I wouldn’t comment on something before doing due diligence.”

Other friends of Swift’s such as Gigi Hadid and Jamie King came to her defense but no one went in as hard as Ms. Rose. Everyone should have a friend like Ruby.

Ruby Rose Ends Engagement to Phoebe Dahl, Internet Explodes with Hope

Ruby Rose has ended her engagement to long-time fiancee Phoebe Dahl.

And countless Internet users around the world are reacting to this news as if it were an early Christmas present.

“After two wonderful years together, Ruby and I have decided to part ways,” Dahl, a 27-year-old designer, told Us Weekly in an exclusive statement.

“While we still love each other and support each other in every way, it is our mutual decision to part ways. Our break is not the result of any media speculation, and we want nothing but the best for each other.

“Thank you for respecting our privacy in this very difficult time.”

An insider, meanwhile, has confirmed to E! News that the split is “completely amicable” and that Rose ad Dahl are calmly working out custody of their pets.

Rose sky-rocketed to fame due to her role on Orange is the New Black Season 3, along with her resemblance to Justin Bieber.

She announced her engagement to Dahl in March of 2014.

With that engagement now over, numerous Twitter users around the World Wide Web apparently think they have a chance with the Australian sex kitten.
