Wonder Woman: Misogynist ROASTED by Austin Mayor Steve Adler!

Have you seen Wonder Woman yet?

I have. It was great. A friend cried during it. The audience applauded at the end.

But the film’s release hasn’t been a stranger to controversy. One particularly hateful response to a women-only screening got an epic smack-down by none other than the mayor of Austin, Texas.

Yeah, usually mayors don’t get a lot of attention for talking about superhero movies, and Mayor Steve Adler isn’t really an exception.

He’s talking about sexism and human dignity.

The controversy wasn’t so much about Wonder Woman itself, but about one theater’s decision to host a women-only screening, and one of the men who absolutely flipped out about it.

In case it actually needs to be stated, like, men-only screenings of films aren’t uncommon. Also plenty of bars still have “Ladies Night” and that sort of thing.

It’s a little weird, sure, though we can totally understand why some women would want to see the film in the absence of guys like whatever piece of work wrote this horrifying email to Austin’s mayor.

“The notion of a woman hero is a fine example of women’s eagerness to accept the appearance of achievement without actual achievement.

“Women learn from an early age to value make-up, that it’s OK to pretend that you are greater than you actually are,” he writes, only after hoping for Austin’s defamation and accusing the theater of “sexism.”

All superheroes are pretend, not just the lady ones. The makeup comment is so weird that we don’t even know how to respond except to say that clearly this guy doesn’t ever do anything to improve his appearance.

“Women pretend they do not know that only men serve in combat because they are content to have an easier ride. Women gladly accept gold medals at the Olympics for coming in 10th and competing only against the second class of athletes,” he says as if he isn’t the wrongest person to ever live.

“Name something invented by a woman! Achievements by the second rate gender pale in comparison to virtually everything great in human history was accomplished by men, not women,” he continued, just keeping on digging that hole.

The short version of all of this is that a man who despises women claims that he doesn’t.

He then signs his name, Richard A. Ameduri, because that’s totally a letter where you’d want to include your name.

Steve Adler’s letter in response is all kinds of savage.

“I am writing to alert you that your email account has been hacked by an unfortunate and unusually hostile individual,” he begins.

“Please remedy your account’s security right away, lest this person’s uninformed and sexist rantings give you a bad name. After all, we men have to look out for each other!”

That’s tongue-in-cheek and beautiful, right?

Then he dives in and just begins solidly refuting the vile man’s sexist claims.

“Can you imagine if someone thought that you didn’t know women could serve in our combat units now without exclusion?” he asked. You can feel the sarcasm emanating in waves from the screen.

Remember that claim that women never invented anything? Adler sure did.

“What if someone thought you didn’t know that women invented medical syringes, life rafts, fire escapes, central and solar heating, a war-time communications system for radio-controlling torpedoes that laid the technological foundations for everything from Wi-Fi to GPS, and beer?”

A nicely succinct list.

Which of course could have been longer.

He also took the time to remind the whiner that a private business can hold whatever screenings they like.

“And I hesitate to imagine,” he adds. “How embarrassed you’d be if someone thought you were upset that a private business was realizing a business opportunity by reserving one screening this weekend for women to see a superhero movie.”

Savage.

We love seeing intelligent politicians go off on people who deserve it.

And speaking of things getting what they deserve, Wonder Woman is already a hit at the box office after only Thursday night’s early previews.

We can’t wait to see what kind of numbers she rakes in by the end of the weekend.

Farrah Abraham: Why Did She Dress As Wonder Woman At The VMAs?

No one is sure why Farrah Abraham decided to come to the MTV Video Music Awards dressed as Wonder Woman.

Maybe she needed to feel empowered?  Maybe she got into a fight with Simon Saran right before leaving for the ceremony and thought, “Girl Power!”

Who knows, but Abraham did Instagram a photo from the red carpet with this weird caption:.

“When your [sic] amazing #vmas fuck the rest your the best #TeenMomOG done with all then trash I got better shit to do.”

Huh?

Naturally, the comments were gold”

Poor girl. She actually thinks this looks good

Omg, I’m from the Netherlands and my English is better thAn YourS

*you’re I have no idea what your caption even says.

When you say you have better shit to do I hope you mean learning how to use “your” and “you’re” correctly.

Abraham was scoring free swag at the Celebrity Gifting Lounge at Buffalo Wild Wings Times Square on August 27th, where she talked to Us Weekly about Teen Mom 2′s Jenelle Evans and her pregnancy announcement.

“I’m actually really proud of her that she stopped doing drugs,” Abraham said.

“She definitely wants to try to find a better man to hopefully marry and have a bigger family with, if she wants to. … I see her taking the initiative to totally change up things to be more welcoming to her mom.

“That’s a hard thing thinking back to their past of her mom trying to take her child away.”

Evans is seven months along, and Abraham remembers the moment she figured that the mom-of-two was expecting again.

“I actually think she knew [she was pregnant before Abraham’s birthday party in May] because she wasn’t drinking then and they left early,” Abraham recalled.

“I think everyone including myself was like, ‘Are you pregnant?’ Everyone there!”

Bow Wow Announces Retirement, Internet Users Wonder If It"s 2007

Bow Wow has decided to bow out.

Taking fans by surprise (for contrasting reasons, as you’ll read about below), the 29-year old rapper announced today that he’s set to call it a career.

As the told his 3.16 million Twitter followers on Monday morning, the upcoming album “NYLTH” will be his last.

Ever.

“I always said years ago i’d retire from music before 30,” the musician wrote. “I just cant see myself at 30 years old rapping.”

Bow Wow is the nephew of Snoop Dogg.

He came into the rapping world as Lil Bow Wow back in 2000, dropping his debut album at the age of 13.

In a series of tweets, Bow Wow recounted all the success he’s gone on to enjoy since then.

“Over 10 million sold, 6 arena tours, 10 top 10’s, a few number 4 platinum albums, 2 gold albums. I’M DONE,” he wrote.

He continued:

“Retirement only means that it is time for a new adventure.’ over 10 million sold. This the last one. THANK YOU. Made over 20 million off rap. Why be greedy?

“I’m good with everything i accomplished. I made it to the White House.”

Shifting over to Instagram, Bow Wow gave his fans a tease of what’s on tap:

“My last album will be executive produced by my uncle Snoop and myself.

“Since he brought me in the game, its only right i involve him and end it with him. ITS OFFICIAL!!!! THIS S–T BOUT TO BANG ON MOMMAS!

“And we aiming and im talking RECKLESS on this album. NOBODY SAFE #DPG #ATK THE TITLE OF MY FINAL ALBUM ‘NYLTH."”

Bow Wow, who has gone by his birth name (Shad Moss) since 2014, is best known for such singles as “Bounce with Me,” “Bow Wow (That’s My Name),” “Puppy Love,” “My Baby” and Let’s Get Down.”

In addition to music, he’s found success on the big and small screens, appearing in All About the Benjamins, CSI: Cyber, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Like Mike, Roll Bounce, Smallville and Ugly Betty.

You can expect to see plenty more of him in an acting capacity down the line.

After one follower said he thought Bow retired in 2007, the artist got angry.

“Just decided to get movie and tv money. Crazy how when JT did what i did NO ONE hated. I do it, its he fell off etc,” the 29-year old wrote.

He later referenced Justin Timberlake in yet another tweet Monday, writing;

“When i decided to take years off to do tv and film, they said i fell off. When JT did it, nobody questioned that.”

Bow Wow said he’ll be barking (get it?!?) up the “acting and hosting” tree going forward, in addition to producing a pair of television shows.

“Its a blessing to have made millions and can retire before 30,” he Tweeted. “I mean im extremely happy.”

There you have it.

What else matters?

Stevie Wonder Breaks Down Over Prince

Ever since the passing of Prince, we’ve read one tribute after another to the legendary singer.

There was the touching message from Will Smith and a few very poignant words from Justin Timberlake.

But Stevie Wonder appeared on CNN with Anderson Cooper just hours after he learned of Prince"s death and was given a chance to talk about his close friend on air.

It was very difficult for him to do so.

"He was a great musician. He loved music. He loved playing his instrument," Wonder says of Prince in the following video.

"The times that we did jam together were amazing with all of the various people that he would bring together, and most of all he brought all the various cultures together.

He could play classical music if he wanted to. He could play jazz if he wanted to, he could play country if he wanted to. He played rock, you know, he played blues. He played pop. He played everything.

And [he was] very cognizant of what his responsibility was as a musician and a human being."

At one point in the moving interview, Cooper played a clip of a chat Prince had with Larry King back in 1999.

The clip featured Prince heaping a world of praise on Wonder, his fellow legendary artist.

"I use Stevie Wonder as an inspiration, whom I look up to a great deal just for the way that he crafted music and his connection to the spirit," Prince said at the time.

"And boy, back then I used him as a role model in trying to play all the instruments and be very self contained and keep my vision clear."

Wonder, meanwhile, performed a secret show with Prince at the White House last year.

He admitted on Thursday night to Cooper that he was "shocked" when he heard his friend died at age the relatively young age of 57.

"I didn"t believe it as I find it so hard to believe.

"You know, in this journey of music, we as artists that create the reflection of society and reflect, really the people that really want to see a better world, a better people, a unity of people, all those things – as did his music do and will continue to do for those of us who will continue to listen to it – it"s a heartbreak to lose a member of that army of love."

Did Wonder want to play a song?

A song by Prince or a song that reminded him of Prince?

Cooper did not want to put the singer on the spot, but he kindly posed this question to Wonder anyway.

And Wonder could barely even respond.

He politely declined, saying there"s no way he"d be able to get through a track without breaking down… and then he broke down.

Stevie Wonder -- My Dead Attorney Screwed Me Because I"m Blind

Z STAFF

EXCLUSIVE

0917-stevie-wonder-tmz-01Stevie Wonder‘s dead attorney and right-hand man for decades duped him into signing a contract he never saw … a contract that makes the singer pay the lawyer’s family indefinitely and forever … so claims Stevie.

Stevie just filed legal docs, obtained by TMZ, in which he says his longtime lawyer, Johanan Vigoda, put a contract in front of Stevie’s face when he was 21 years old. The deal was, Stevie would pay Johanan 6% of all music royalties. But there’s a clause that says payments to the lawyer’s family go on “forever.”

Johanan died in 2011, but Stevie’s record company continued to pay Johanan’s widow. Stevie says he didn’t realize payments were being made for nearly 2 years, and when he caught wind, he ordered payments to be stopped. He claims he trusted Johanan and the lawyer never said the 6% would survive his death.

Stevie says in his docs he was betrayed by a man he trusted and wants a judge to declare he no longer has a duty to pay royalties, because the attorney took advantage of a blind man.

Johanan’s widow has filed her own lawsuit, demanding Stevie pay from the time he stopped and forever in the future. She wants $ 7 mil minimum.
