The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 Episode 6 Recap: Kim Fields Can"t Hang

On The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 Episode 6, Kenya and Porsha planned a ladies’ trip to Miami, which was totally relaxing and uneventful.

LOL. Just making sure you’re actually reading up in here. Meanwhile, Cynthia’s friend clashed with Sheree over past drama, and tensions ran high …

If you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online, you know that this can be a tough crowd. Mentally, and/or physically if you fight Porsha.

It’s becoming more and more apparent that Kim Fields may be in over her head here, though – and that’s nothing against her personally.

If anything, it speaks to her good qualities as a human being – if not a Bravo celebrity – that she has a hard time fitting in with this crew.

As Phaedra Parks put it: “My goodness, Kim Fields is coming to Miami. I hope she has her King James Bible and her roller-skates.”

“Tootie, you better be ready to rumble with these girls.”

Was she? As soon as they arrived in Miami, Kim took up residence on the couch of a living room suite, rather than her own private room.

That was a little bit odd, and it got better from there.

With aplomb, Kim started calling out the cast members on their absurd antics as if she were a viewer live tweeting from their living room couch.

Which she could’ve been, come to think about it …

“How old are we that we’re talking about ‘I didn’t say she didn’t like you.’ Are we grown ass women talking like this?” Kim said at one point.

“Food for thought,” she went on, armchair quarterbacking one beef. “Does it feel like there’s a difference between information and instigation?”

So well put. Tell that one to Andy Cohen.

“I think there’s a way to let somebody know ‘Hey, you might want to talk to so-and-so’ without being messy about it,” Fields told Kenya Moore.

That’s just a little too logical. As is this: “It’s hard to tell if it’s a genuine ‘I just wanted you to know’ or if it’s just for sport, you know what I mean?”

We do. The women on RHOA do not.

Sadly, the mood turned sour when the party kicked into overdrive and Kim longed for home, lamenting: “I don’t get it, I want to go home.”

“I miss my husband. I don’t understand just dancing with girls to just dance. I don’t get all of this. I don’t get it. And I’m just standing there.”

“This isn’t me. I can’t find myself here.”

Hopefully she’s getting paid a lot.

Porsha’s response to Fields’ lament was this: “Kim is feenin’ like Jodeci for her family. This little homesick routine is wearing me out.”

Fortunately for all involved, we didn’t get to see Porsha Williams fight her over it … just talk about her behind her back like everyone else.

With Kim and Kenya, the bad blood appears especially prevalent, as Moore seems put out by the fact that Fields acts … like a grown-up.

It’s weird. This genuinely bugs her.

As the episode ended with the ladies bringing back some strangers to join their boat party, we predict even more turbulent waters ahead.

Grab a hat, and hold the f–k onto it.

Independence Day Sequel: Watch the Trailer!!!

Ready to celebrate another Independence Day?

The movie world was taken aback (in the most awesome way possible!) on the afternoon of December 13, 2015 when a trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence quietly appeared on screen in the middle of a football game.

Oh, yes, there is going to be a sequel to Independence Day, people!

The follow-up to 1996"s smash hit will bring back original stars Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum ad Vivica A. Fox, though Will Smith will sadly not make an appearance.

We had previously chronicled the whereabouts of the Independence Day cast, wondering where they are now… and here"s your answer:

Many of them are teaming up for a sequel we never saw coming!

"We found something out here, something only you might understand," says a woman in the trailer, to which Goldblum’s Jeff Levinson replied upon arrival:

"On my God."

Ever since that July 4, 1996 invasion, Levinson has apparently led a group of united humans in developing a defense program to protect the planet against what he believed would be an inevitable return.

As for Smith"s Captain Hiller?

A message on the movie"s official website says he tragically died while testing a new fighter jet.

"We always knew they would come back," the trailer reads. "But nothing can prepare us for when they arrive."

Does anyone else have goose bumps right now or is it just us?

Jill & Jessa Counting On Recap: The Hardest Year Ever

The 19 Kids & Counting crew – or part of it, anyway – finally returned last night with the first of TLC’s Jill & Jessa: Counting On specials.

If you know anything about the Duggar family, no matter what you think of them, you know they sure have been through a lot in the past year.

A LOT.

The Arkansas reality stars saw their popular show axed after Josh’s molestation scandal last spring, in which we learned he abused his sisters.

The s–t truly hit the fan a few months later, when he confessed to cheating on his long-suffering wife Anna, all while espousing family values.

Unreal.

On Jill and Jessa: Counting On last night, we saw his siblings – and Anna – react to the scandals for the first time, and it made for intense TV.

Josh Duggar, of course, is toiling away in a Christian sex rehab labor camp, and did not appear on camera. Yet he was a major star of the show.

Jessa told the cameras, “Over the years, Josh worked really hard to repair our trust in him, and he became someone we could really look up to.”

“Josh ended up confessing to us that he had gotten addicted to pornography and had been unfaithful to his wife, and we were devastated.”

“It felt like it was just a bad dream. How could this happen?”

By “repair our trust,” Jessa clearly means after he molested her as a young girl. Jill talked about being one of Josh’s abuse victims, saying:

“When the police report was released, that wasn’t right … We really had to work through it. As a victim you’ve already worked through it.”

“You’ve already dealt with it and moved on.”

“You don’t want it rubbed in your face.”

Jill Duggar slammed Josh, however, when it came to cheating on Anna – leading a secret life and letting Jill and Jessa go on TV to defend him.

The married sisters infamously went on Fox News to run damage control in an interview with Megyn Kelly, unaware of what else he was hiding.

Jinger Duggar, Joy-Anna Duggar, John David Duggar and Jana Duggar also appeared on Counting On, calling these some of the toughest times.

It was jarring – and reassuring, in an odd sense – to see his younger brothers talk about how they always looked up to Josh, but no longer do.

Anna, too, spoke out in disbelief.

Some speculate that she turned to reality TV to bank some quick cash and leave Josh, while others believe it was part of the healing process.

Either way, she was (and is) clearly heartbroken and it was hard not to feel for the poor girl as she recalled how blindsided she was by her man.

The focus of Jill & Jessa: Counting On was, ostensibly, Jill’s new baby with Derick Dillard, and Jessa’s pregnancy with husband Ben Seewald.

Both are worth focal points, and should be front and center in subsequent episodes. This week, though, was all about Josh, and for good reason.

His problems derailed a reality show empire, and tarnished a family so many looked up to. Kudos to the Duggars for addressing this head on.

Eva Longoria; Engaged to Jose Antonio Baston!

Eva Longoria is ready to take another walk down the aisle.

The actress revealed on Instagram over the weekend that she has accepted the marriage proposal of Jose Antonio Baston, sharing the news via a very romantic photo.

It features the couple – who are in Dubai on behalf of the Global Gift Foundation – swapping passionate spit, just a short while (we presume) after Baston popped the big question.

Longoria’s stunning engagement ring is on full display in the image.

“Ummmm so this happened,” Longoria captioned the sweet snapshot, adding the hashtags “Engaged,” “Dubai,” and “Happiness.”

Longoria and Baston made their public debut as a couple in November 2013, at the Museo Jumex Opening dinner in Mexico City.

The latter is the president of Televisa, Latin America’s largest media company, and the world’s largest Spanish-speaking media conglomerate.

Longoria, of course, was married to NBA point guard Tony Parker for three years until he allegedly cheated on her for reasons that defy comprehension.

The actress filed for divorce in 2010.

She has since been linked romantically to Ernesto Arguello, but it took Jose Antonio Baston to truly win over her heart for the second time.

We wish this couple a lifetime of happiness.
