Actually, silly story. OK! Magazine believes they’ve struck gold with a tale about the Duchess of Cambridge desperately trying to set up play dates and friendship dates with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
“[Kate] is a huge fan and admires [Angelina] greatly,” a source allegedly told the magazine.
It all started in June 2015, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted Pitt and Jolie for tea at Kensington Palace.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Pitt at Kensington Palace on Friday afternoon,” a palace aide informed Us Weekly at the time.
“They discussed their shared interest in combating the illegal wildlife trade.”
An insider added that William and Catherine were “really excited” about meeting the power couple.
William and Catherine, joined by Prince George, waited to greet Pitt and Jolie outside Apartment 1A, as they did for Michelle and Barack Obama on April 22nd.
Soon after – according to OK! – Catherine and Jolie were on the “phone for hours and sent lots and lots of emails.”
The Hollywood couple are currently based in the UK, as Pitt is filming the World War II drama, Allied, so Catherine has extended an invitation from their kids to hang at Anmer Hall whenevs.
If Jolie is craving grown-up time, Catherine would “love to take her to a pub or the ballet.”
Her Royal Highness has even enlisted William and Prince Harry to pour on the charm and take Pitt to a football match.
“It’s just a matter of sorting out dates!” this source added.
As one who is well-versed in Catherine’s interests, I know that she doesn’t drink much and has never expressed any interest in ballet.
Had the source suggested going to a playground with the kids, a cooking class or antiquing, I might have believed it.
