Brock Turner Blames Sexual Assault on "Binge Drinking and Sexual Promiscuity"

A statement Brock Turner submitted in court last week has been made public.

Turner is the 20-year old former Stanford University student who was convicted on three felony counts of sexual assault and whose case has gone viral over the past several days.

The case has been making news because Judge Aaron Persky only sentenced Turner to six months in county jail, a punishment deemed far too lenient by endless critics on the Internet.

Following the surprising sentencing, Turner’s unnamed victim stood in court and read a moving statement, detailing how profoundly Turner’s actions have affected her life.

The ex-swimmer was convicted of digitally raping his unconscious victim near a dumpster outside a party early last year.

Watch the following video in order to hear the victim’s full statement:

Turner’s father also released a controversial statement of his own after the verdict was reached, explaining why his son should not spend a single day behind bars.

Now, The Guardian has published Turner’s own official statement.

This is part of what he wrote to the judge last week:

The night of January 17th changed my life and the lives of everyone involved forever.

I can never go back to being the person I was before that day. I am no longer a swimmer, a student, a resident of California, or the product of the work that I put in to accomplish the goals that I set out in the first 19 years of my life.

I’ve lost two jobs solely based on the reporting of my case. I wish I never was good at swimming or had the opportunity to attend Stanford, so maybe the newspapers wouldn’t want to write stories about me.

Wow.

Turner doesn’t seem to understand that newspapers have written stories about him BECAUSE HE RAPED SOMEONE and got off with scarcely any punishment at all.

Not because he was very good at swimming.

In the lengthy letter, Turner mentioned the victim’s suffering. He continued:

I can never forgive myself for imposing trauma and pain on [redacted]. It debilitates me to think that my actions have caused her emotional and physical stress that is completely unwarranted and unfair.

During the day, I shake uncontrollably from the amount I torment myself by thinking about what has happened.

Turner went on to say that he should not spend time in jail because he can make a positive impact as a free man instead.

I know I can impact and change people’s attitudes towards the culture surrounded by binge drinking and sexual promiscuity that protrudes through what people think is at the core of being a college student.

I want to demolish the assumption that drinking and partying are what make up a college lifestyle. I made a mistake, I drank too much, and my decisions hurt someone.

There are times here when Turner seems contrite. Because he probably is in many ways.

But there are also far too many times when he blames his actions on drinking and still fails to grasp the concept that he sexually violated an unconscious woman.

This is not our opinion. This is a verdict handed down by a court.

The idea that he thinks he has something to teach others about “binge drinking and promiscuity” and nothing more is appalling.

Kris Jenner Gets Drunk, Calls French Montana a "Motherf--ker"

Back in March, videos of a hilariously hammered Kris Jenner surfaced on Kourtney Kardashian’s Instagram page.

The clips raised a lot of questions, such as: Why is Kris so wasted in what appears to be the middle of the day? and, Why is she saying “walkie-talkie” over and over? Now we finally have some context:

Based on this preview from the upcoming Keeping Up With the Kardashians, it seems Kris and two of her daughters were on a wine tour in Napa Valley.

Kourtney and Khloe appear to have paced themselves, while Kris decided to go all Paul Giamatti in Sideways.

“I think my mom is really into wine in general,” Kourt says to the camera at one point. “She definitely just could go on and on.”

Based on Kris’ behavior in the clip, that might be the most obvious complaint in history.

Hilariously, Khloe is attempting to FaceTime with ex French Montana in the car when Kris stumbles back from the winery.

She greets French with a boisterous “Hello, motherf–ker!” before causing Khloe to fumble her phone.

We like Kris like this, largely because we suspect it’s rare that she allows her self to let loose to this degree.

Don’t believe the tabloid BS about Kris having a drinking problem.

We find it hard to believe should could maintain control of such a lucrative empire if she were sloshed on a regular basis.

Obviously, she likes to knock ’em back on occasion, but can you blame her?

You’d drink too if you had Kanye for a son-in-law.

Amber Heard: Friend Who Called 911 on Johnny Depp Makes Shocking New Claims

Just days before Amber Heard requested a restraining order against Johnny Depp, police were called to the home the couple shared after receiving a 911 call from a friend of Heard’s.

Until today, the identity of the caller was a mystery.

Now, we know that it was Amber’s longtime friend iO Tillett Wright, who has found herself embroiled in the drama of Depp and Heard’s tumultuous marriage in the past.

Wright’s name was not revealed through the questionable tactics of some shady tabloid, but rather in a blog post written by the artist and photographer herself.

Last week, Wright defended Heard against claims that she was blackmailing Depp by accusing him of abuse.

Today, she revealed for the first time that she was on the phone with Heard at the time of the attack, and she was the one called the police on Depp the night of May 21.

“I was on the phone with both of them and heard it drop, heard him say, ‘What if I pulled your hair back?’ and her scream for my help, I wondered like so many times before if I should break the code of silence that surrounds celebrities and invite the police into the situation,” Wright says on her website.

Wright describes Depp as a close friend, but adds that she knew she needed to alert authorities as the drunken outburst that took place that night was far from an isolated incident.

She writes of one morning in December of 2015 when Heard woke up with her pillow covered in blood:

“I know this because I went to their house,” Wright claims. “I saw the pillow with my own eyes. I saw the busted lip and the clumps of hair on the floor.”

In a series of outraged tweets, Wright added, “I HEARD HER SCREAM. I will testify. Here and in court. Under oath. WHAT ELSE DOES A WOMAN NEED?”

In addition to the scathing claims from Wright, Depp’s camp now has to contend with reports from several media outlets that texts between Heard and Depp’s assistant describing an incident in which the actress was repeatedly kicked by Depp have now been authenticated by an expert.

Sounds like Johnny might not have a bright future in family-friendly Disney fare.
