Four-Year-Old Dies in Hot Car After Being Left There All Day By Sitter

A four-year-old Pennsylvania girl died on Friday after her babysitter left her in a hot car for hours during a record-breaking heat wave.

The unidentified caretaker was supposed to drop off the child, who was later identified as Samaria Motyka, at daycare in the morning.

Instead, the sitter went straight to work, leaving the young girl, identified by media reports as Samaria Motyka, in the backseat of the car.

For the remainder of the day.

The Associated Press reported that the woman came out to her car at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, when she found the girl unresponsive.

Area police were called to the scene and administered first aid before rushing the child to nearby Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

She was pronounced dead on arrival.

Like many parts of the Northeast U.S., the temperature in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, reached 97 degrees just after 4 p.m. on Friday.

The region is in the midst of its longest heat wave since 2013, NBC Philadelphia later reported, making this story even more unbelievable.

Why the child would be left in the car that long under any circumstances is bizarre, but given the weather conditions, it"s utterly baffling. 

“With today’s heat, it’s horrible, horrible. Makes me want to cry,” a Williamsport resident told local news station WNEP of the incident.

An autopsy was conducted on Saturday at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa., although we don"t know the outcome yet. 

Authorities are awaiting toxicology results before deciding whether to file criminal charges against the babysitter, according to WNEP.

He asked Kourtney if he could tag along on the trip and stay in the same rental.. and she said yes!

And, yes, Disick is the father of Kourtney’s three kids.

It’s very nice that he can spend a lot of time with them.

But what sort of message is Kardashian sending to her children about their father in this kind of instance? Is she teasing them (and us!) with a possible reconciliation?

We don’t have the answer to that question at the moment.

But we do know that the residence typically rents for $ 6,600 per night.

However, Airbnb gave Kourtney a deal on it. For some reason.

There’s been talk ever since Kourtney dumped Scott last summer that the two would get back together.

And we can understand why from Disick’s point of view. Just check out the Kourtney Kardashian bikini photo above.

Just a few weeks ago, however, Kourtney tried to put this incessant chatter to bed.

A source, supposedly speaking on Kardashian’s behalf, said she is never getting back together with Disick. Never, ever, ever, EVER.

We’d say that Kourtney could ask Taylor Swift to sing a certain song that expresses this sentiment in order for the world to come to grips with it.

But Swift isn’t exactly getting along well with the Kardashians right now.

Still, it’s hard to imagine Disick hasn’t gotten the message.

He’s sort of cleaned up his act, he’s still hanging around a lot with his ex and she still has not accepted him back into her bed, as far as we know.

If these two were to rekindle their romance, it likely would have happened already, don’t you think?

“I used to not be able to forgive. It was hard for me,” Tre said. “They say you’re supposed to be able to forgive. I wrote it from my heart.”

“I didn’t just write it to write it.”

When Teresa asked about Nicholas, Jacqueline’s son, Laurita lost it – in a good way, embracing her old friend like the very best of times.

“I missed you Lucy,” she said. 

“Missed you too, Ethel,” Teresa said, and all was right with the world again, or at least it seems to be heading in that general direction.

“Teresa and I, we’ve been through a lot and we have a lot of history together. That history is not going away,” Jacqueline told the cameras.
