Vanessa Marcotte: Body of Jogger Found Stripped, Burned Near Mom"s Home

She was a New York City-based Google employee home in Princeton, Massachusetts for the weekend, just over an hour west of Boston.

On Sunday, August 7th, Vanessa Marcotte went out for a jog around 1 p.m., but when she didn’t return three hours later, her family called the police.

Marcotte’s body was located in the woods around 8:20 p.m, a half mile from her mother’s home.  Several reports state that the 27-year-old was partially buried with burns to the hands, face and feet.

“We have a horrible set of facts, a horrible circumstance here right now,” Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr said, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

“A preliminary review of the body has led the detectives to believe that this is a homicide investigation.  I must stress that we do not know if this is a random act. We’re asking the residents of Princeton to use an abundance of caution.”

Marcotte was a 2011 graduate of Boston University and was an avid runner, according to the Telegram & Gazette.

Google released a statement upon learning the news, according to CBS Boston.

“Vanessa Marcotte was a much loved member of the Google team, working in our New York office for the last year and a half, and known for her ubiquitous smile, passion for volunteer work, and love of Boston sports.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened, and our thoughts are with her family and friends.” We are deeply shocked and saddened, and our thoughts are with her family and friends.”

She is the second victim this summer to be attacked and killed while jogging in broad daylight.

Last week, Karina Vetrano was strangled to death while running in Queen, New York.  Police believe the 30-year-old was also sexually assaulted before being killed.

Authorities are asking the public to contact 508-453-7589 with any information related to Marcotte’s death.

Lindsay Lohan: LYING About Egor Tarabasov Breakup?!

The bizarre and troubling saga of Lindsay Lohan and Egor Tarabasov appears to be ongoing, as insiders are now claiming that Lohan’s claims that she dumped Tarabasov are bogus.

As you’ve probably heard, disturbing video of a physical altercation between Lohan and Tarabasov emerged online last week.

The footage appears to show Lohan throwing Tarabasov’s phone out of his car before leaping out of the vehicle herself.

Tarabasov pursues the actress and violently wrestles the phone away from her.

Needless to say, it’s an unsettling sight, especially as Lohan hinted that she was “a victim of domestic abuse” early on in the relationship.

So it came as a relief to many when Lindsay seemed to publicly declare that the relationship was over in a recent interview with the Daily Mail

“No woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn’t prepared to say sorry,” Lindsay said.

“I realize now you can’t stay in a relationship just for love.”

Unfortunately, if you look at her remarks closely, it seems Lindsay never actually said that she had kicked Egor to the curb.

Friends now say that it was Lindsay’s sought to appease those who are encouraging her to breakup with Tarabasov without actually ending the relationship.

“Even after all this, Lindsay still refuses to leave Egor,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online.

“This entire thing has turned into such a mess. Lindsay put Egor on blast in the interview to save her own face. But truth be told, she is not done with him.”

The insider adds that Lindsay has assured friends that the instance of abuse was an isolated incident brought about by too much alcohol.

Those closest to the actress are reportedly planning an intervention to convincen her to leave her Russian billionaire fiance.

Rome Police Cook Pasta for Elderly Couple: Find Out Why!

The police in Rome really love helping people.

They also excel at making sure the local community get a good meal.

Sometimes, watching the news can be a depressing thing.

There’s just so much news that makes us question what the heck is wrong with the world.

For Jole and Michele, watching the news got a little bit too much.

Jole questioned why everything on the news was so negative.

There were reports of crying and shouting coming from the apartment, so the police were called.

When they went to the residence, they expected some sort of disturbance.

They were shocked to find the elderly couple pretty upset.

The couple even pointed out to the officers that they very rarely get visitors.

Officers then noticed that there was a lack of anything in the apartment that could help make a meal for the couple.

They officers took it upon themselves to make the couple a nice dinner after getting them checked over by an ambulance crew.

The meal sounds pretty great.

Police Make Elderly Couple Meal

It was Spaghetti, butter and parmesan.

Who doesn’t LOVE pasta?

It’s acts of kindness like this that show us there is still some good in the world.

The Rome Police took to Facebook to address what happened.

“There is not a crime. Jole and Michele are not victims of scams and no thief entered the house — there is no one to save,” the police force wrote on Facebook.

“This time, for the boys, there is a more daunting task — two lonely souls who need reassuring. They understand that just a little human warmth will restore tranquility to Jole and Michele.”

10-Year Old Decapitated in Water Slide Accident, Police Confirm

We have an update on the tragic story of Caleb Schwab.

As previously reported, Schwab was killed on Sunday while riding the Verruckt, a water slide at Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas.

The ride has been dubbed the World’s Tallest Water Slide in existence by the Guinness Book of World Records, with its name translating from German to mean “insane.”

Caleb was the 10-year old son of Kansas lawmaker Scott Schwab, who issued a heartfelt statement about his child soon after this horrific accident took place.

“Since the day he was born, he brought abundant joy to our family and all those he came in contact with,” wrote Scott and his wife, Michelle, adding:

“As we try to mend our home with him no longer with us, we are comforted knowing he believed in our Savior Jesus, and they are forever together now.

“We will see him another day.”

Now, two days after this tragedy, further details have emerged.

And they paint an extremely sad and grotesque picture.

Caleb Thomas Schwab

Officials have confirmed that Caleb died from a fatal neck injury, with multiple outlets reporting the child was decapitated.

A witness named Esteban Castaneda  tells ABC News that he heard a “boom” coming from the ride and then saw a raft come through.

“Immediately after the raft … you see a body,” Castaneda said.

The ride typically holds two to three people per raft and Castaneda said two women were in this specific raft, with blood all over them.

Castaneda has not been interviewed by police.

But he said he started to run toward the situation when a lifeguard told him there was “nothing” he could do.

And that was when he saw Caleb’s body lying in the water at the base of the slide.

The two other women in his raft, who were not related to Caleb, suffered minor injuries, police said.

Since this horrible incident went viral, we’ve learned that Verruckt’s scheduled 2014 opening was delayed numerous times due to glitches, including one issue that caused water rafts to fly off the slide and into the air.

In this case, another witness (named Kelsey Friedrichsen, who was on her way up the slide when the commotion began below her) told People Magazine of Caleb’s death:

“It looked like he must have somehow been ejected from his seat, bounced around between the netting and the slide and just slid down.

“He would have fallen down without the raft. It’s kind of like a tube.”

Schlitterbahn officials say all rides are inspected daily prior to opening.

The Verrückt ride is closed, but the park is tentatively scheduled to reopen on Wednesday.

A memorial service for Caleb will be held Friday afternoon.

“We had many issues on the engineering side,” Jeff Henry, Verruckt creator and Schlitterbahn co-owner told USA Today, two years ago.

“A lot of our math was based on roller coasters at first, and that didn’t translate to a water slide like this. No one had ever done anything like this before…

“It’s dangerous, but it’s a safe dangerous now.

“Schlitterbahn is a family water park, but this isn’t a family ride. It’s for thrill seekers of the world, people into extreme adventure.”
