Malia Obama: Mocking Pot Controversy in Latest Photos?!

Last month, photos and video surfaced online that appeared to show Malia Obama smoking pot at the Lollapalooza music festival.

For reasons that remain unclear, the idea of an 18-year-old recent high school grad getting stoned sparked (no pun intended) some intense debates on social media.

Some claimed Malia was smoking a cigarette, not a joint.

Others pointed out that as far as her health is concerned, the revelation that she’s hooked on Marbs like her father used to be would be far more troubling than the idea of her puffing the occasional doobie.

(We like to throw around slang sometimes to prove how “down” we are with the kids. Do kids still say “down”?)

Anyway, there are lots of people out there who are super pissed off about Malia enjoying her gap year between high school and Harvard, but they’re not exactly sure why they’re so outraged.

Some have even tried to turn this into “a thing” by throwing it back to the days when her father was a smoker, claiming that the Obamas are part of some “making smoking cool again” conspiracy.

Obviously, that’s idiotic, but new photos of Malia have some scratching their heads as to whether the 18-year-old is sending a sincere message, or taking a sarcastic jab at her haters.

The pics show Malia wearing what appears to be a homemade shirt that reads, “Smoking kills.”

It’s unclear if this was meant as a joke or an attempt to set a good example for her young admirers in the wake of her recent mini-scandal, but it’s certainly a head-scratching fashion statement.

As for those pics of President Obama gunnin’ cigs in his Chicago badass days, well, who cares, right?

Does the young future prez look cool. Kinda.

Does that mean smoking is cool? Hell no.

Look, we all know that just because something occasionally looks cool, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it is.

Jumping over ten flaming school buses on a motorcycle looks cool, but it’s still something that you should never even contemplate doing in real life.

Politics aside, in terms of presidential coolness, Obama is up in the top five alongside Teddy Roosevelt (the guy had a pet bear), Franklin Pierce (underrated BAMF), and George W. Bush.

(We know. But the guy got a DUI in Texas in the ’70s. No easy feat.)

That said, we’re sure Obama has impressed upon his daughters that taking up smoking in 2016, with everything we now know about its many detrimental effects on one’s health is one of the least cool things one can do.

Also, in the interest of covering our asses legally, we should remind you that we say much of this in jest, and it is not actually cool to get a DUI in Texas in the ’70s.

So if you get your hands on a time traveling Delorean and a case of Billy Beer and things go awry, don’t go pointing the finger at us.

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston: Fighting Over The Emmys???

Taylor Swift fans and trolls alike have assumed that she would accompany boyfriend Tom Hiddleston to the Emmy Awards on September 18th.

As the saying goes, “to assume is to make an ass out of u and me.”

Hiddleston is nominated for Lead Actor In A Limited Series or Movie for his role in The Night Manager, a critically-acclaimed miniseries co-starring Hugh Laurie.

Swift has never walked the red carpet with a boyfriend, and according to a source, doesn’t plan on starting anytime soon.

‘Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private,” the source told the Daily Mail.

“Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable.

“She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons.”

And here we thought she would be pumped to attend the Emmy Awards as a supportive girlfriend, but after flaunting their relationship over July 4th weekend, Swift might be singing a different tune.

Swift and Hiddleston’s relationship (fauxmance, whatever you’d like to call it) has been the source of tabloid fodder all summer, especially since it appeared to staged at first.

The two were reportedly set up by their PR teams after the MET Ball in May, and before you know it, they’re making out by the ocean and taking a romanitc trip to Italy.

It was weird.  No one was buying it.

On the Fourth, things got even weirder when Hiddleston proudly wore an “I Heart T.S.” tank top while splashing around in the waves.  

Hiddleston, however, wanted to set the record straight, and did so during an Emmy nominations interview on July 14th.

“Well, um. How best to put this?” Hiddleston said while on the phone with The Hollywood Reporter.

“That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”

Fast-forward a few months, and Hiddleston is feeling like a “glorified escort,” according to Radar Online.

“It’s become a total charade. Tom is just done with it,” a source told the site.

“It bothers him so much that they’ve become known as this fauxmance laughing stock.”

Will Swift join her glorified escort on the red carpet come September 18th?

Farrah Abraham: SLAMMED For Calling Daughter "Stupid Heathen"

On last night’s episode of Teen Mom, Farrah Abraham demonstrated that she’s not exactly the kindest, most compassionate human on the planet.

Much of the episode focused on Farrah’s astonishingly rude treatment of Simon Saran.

If you watch Teen Mom OG online, you know that volatility within that relationship is nothing new.

And if you keep up with Farrah’s social media pages or the frequent tabloid reports are the troubled reality star, you know that controversies surrounding Farrah and her 7-year-old daughter, Sophia, are also old hat at this point.

However, Farrah’s notorious temper is usually directed at the grownups in her life, such as Saran, and her long-suffering (though often insufferable) mother, Deborah.

However, last night’s episode (which you can watch below) revealed a different, more troubling side of Farrah’s tendency toward irrational rage:

Prior to an Easter egg hunt, Sophia complained of feeling ill, prompting her mother to unleash a tirade of what some have described as verbally abusive language:

“I don’t know why Sophia needs to act like a heathen, get up there,” Abraham said, pushing her daughter up the stairs.

“Sophia is too stupid to get ready,” Farrah then remarked to her mother. It’s not my issue right now.”

When Deborah prompted Farrah to go easy on her daughter, Farrah remarked:

“I gave her medicine. I already did that stuff. It’s ridiculous how she’s acting. Between the two of you I don’t know what’s more irritating.”

Not surprisingly, Teen Mom fans proceeded to go off on Farrah on social media:

“Definition of a bad mom? Farrah Abraham,” one viewer tweeted. “How can you call your daughter stupid?!”

“Anyone else’s heart break when Farrah Abraham through [sic] her sick daughter up the steps? Your kid is a CHILD. Not a servant,” another commented.

Amazingly, for once, Farrah actually saw the error of her ways and issued a semi-apology in an interview with Radar Online:

Farrah explained that to her mind, “stupid” isn’t necessarily an insult.

“I can be stupid, anyone can act stupid,” Abraham told the website.

“I keep it real. I’m not allowing my daughter to be spoiled or not responsible for her actions.”

Like we said, controversies involving Farrah and Sophia are nothing new, but usually they stem from the fact that Farrah seems to regard her only child as more of a friend than a daughter.

Farrah’s endorsement of Sophia’s modeling career has been a particular subject of criticism.

Now, however, it seems that Sophia isn’t immune to being subjected to her mother’s fits of rage.

Hopefully, Farrah will take a lesson from this incident and bear in mind that her daughter is not, in fact, a grown-up who can simply bounce back after being publicly berated.
