Will Katy Perry Trash Taylor Swift on New Album?

It seems like just yesterday Katy Perry released her fourth studio album, Prism.

That album was released in 2013, and we’re feeling a little old. Naturally, fans have been questioning when the 32-year-old will drop her fifth album.

Perry opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her break from the music industry, new album details and an update on whether she will be firing a song back at Taylor Swift after Bad Blood.

In the interview, Katy confirmed that she did, indeed, take a break from the limelight after her grueling Prismatic World Tour. She hit up Santa Barbara, California for some respite.

The energy is just totally different — it’s not thirsty or desperate or clingy,” Perry tells EW.

“It’s a really beautiful kind of Zen-like feeling place. I just went there to gather myself, and I started making a record in June of last year.”

Being in the public eye must be a tough experience when you’re promoting an album, attending public appearances and embarking on a world tour, but at least Perry admits to taking breaks.

There are some stars out there that just don’t stop, and it likely ruins the fun of being one of the most popular singers on the planet.

Perry confirmed that she wrote 40 songs for her new album, but had to whittle that down to 15 to have the album made. The star never let the publication in on the big secret about the title of her latest album.

Instead, she detailed the sound of it.

“It’s really quite brave,” Perry continued.

“Sonically, it’s fun and dance-y and dark and light. It’s all of these things. It definitely is a change.”

Katie also admitted that her latest effort will chart her move into her 30s.

“I left my 20s, and I’ve gone to my 30s,” she says.

“I’ve embraced. I’ve surrendered. I’ve healed some of my issues with my family, with my relationships. Today I’m sober, but I don’t know about tomorrow! One day at a time, right? [Laughs] It’s all kind of beautiful. I built up Katy Perry, and she was so fun. And I still am Katy Perry, and I love her so much but, at the core, I’m Katheryn Hudson, and I think that’s being revealed as I embrace who I really am.”

On new song titles, Perry confirmed two, with “Bigger Than Me” and “Swish Swish” will be released later this year with the album.

Another pressing topic discussed was whether Katy planned to target Taylor Swift for allegedly making “Bad Blood” about her and if the song was actually about Perry in the first place.

Her response is pretty eye-opening.

“Well, that’s not my question to answer — if it’s about me. I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person. One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that.”

“Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period end of story. But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction or a consequence so don’t forget about that, okay, honey. [Laughs] We got to keep it real, honey. This record is not about anyone else!”

“This record is about me being seen and heard so that I can see and hear everyone else! It’s not even about me! It’s about everything that I see out there that I digest. I think there’s a healing in it for me and vulnerability. If people want to connect and be healed and feel vulnerable and feel empowered and strong, God bless and here it is.”

It sure sounds like Katy is playing coy about the whole thing. Maybe she and Taylor are actually friends and are sitting giggling like school girls over some wine that the internet thinks they’re against each other.

What do you think about all of this?

Kylie Jenner to Tyga: Forget Blac Chyna, Get Back With Me!

It’s been two months since Kylie Jenner and Tyga broke up, and though the couple has parted ways several times before, this time was supposed to be different.

This time, Kylie and Tyga were supposed to be over with for good, having finally joined the rest of us in getting bored with the constant breakup, reconciliation, breakup cycle.

Unfortunately, Kylie is 19, which means that like every other 19-year-old on the planet, she has no idea what the hell she wants, and she’s fully enslaved by her own emotions.

In recent weeks, Tyga has been spending time with his ex, Blac Chyna.

It’s not an entirely unexpected move, as Tyga and Blac have a kid together, and as far as club appearances and other paid events go, they’re worth more together than separately.

But the Blac-Tyga split wasn’t exactly amicable, and at one point, the feud between Blac and Kylie was as intense as celebrity beefs get.

We guess that’ll happen when your boyfriend’s baby mama gets knocked up by your brother.

So it’s not surprising that Kylie is less than thrilled by the idea of Blac and Tyga hanging out – so much so, in fact, that sources say she’s hoping to win Tyga back, just to keep him away from Chyna.

“Knowing that Tyga and Blac are hanging out together is definitely going to hit a nerve with both Rob and Kylie, and drive them crazy wondering if they’re back together again or not. And, that’s exactly how Blac and Tyga like it,” a source tells Hollywood Life.

“Rob is super pissed, and upset, he thinks Blac is disrespecting him,” the insider adds.

“As for Kylie, her emotions change as much as her hair color! One day she’s spitting mad at Tyga, calling him a loser, and wants nothing to do with him, the next she’s super sad and saying she misses him.”

Another source tells Radar Online that Kylie’s jealousy has made her desperate to get Tyga back in her life:

“The truth is Tyga’s been cheating for years and Kylie’s only just realized it,” says the tipster, “but even so she’s not giving up and still hooks up with him when he’s in the mood.”

And it seems that when it comes to dysfunctional relationships, Kylie learned from the best:

“This is the same dynamic Kourtney and Scott had, where she’d take his cheating and fool herself into thinking no long-term damage was being done because there aren’t any feelings involved,” the insider claims.

These, days when she’s not obsessing over Tyga, Kylie is hooking up with Travis Scott, reportedly in a bid to make her ex jealous.

Interestingly, the Tyga-Blac reconciliation that she’s reportedly so concerned about is simply not happening:

“Tyga and Blac are not reconciling, as far as she’s concerned, been there done that. It didn’t work the first time round so it’s unlikely it would work a second time,” says one insider.

But that doesn’t mean all the misdirected angst and petty mind games we’ll be letting up any time soon.

Love & Hip Season 6 Episode 10 Recap: A DNA Test Type Of Party!

Stevie is a father for, like, the 100th time, so he realized he needed to make some changes to his life.

That was not the only big development on Love & Hip Hop Season 6 Episode 10, with Momma Dee and Shirleen joining forces to find out what the heck Kirk Frost was getting up to in his private time.

When the episode got underway, Stevie was preparing to have Bonnie Bella at his house for the first time. His two daughters were ecstatic to meet her, but they were probably a little apprehensive because how many siblings they have out there.

The daughters quizzed Stevie about whether a romance was on the horizon for him and Joseline, but he had no idea what the future held for him.

As you probably know if you watched Leave It To Stevie online, Savannah was not impressed with Joseline for all of the crap she spouting on social media about her family.

“I don’t mind her being my sister, but I don’t want the mother around until she apologizes to all of the girls for all of the stuff she said on social media.”

While that was going down, Joc turned his attention to Treasure for opening up about his business with Tommie and Karlie.

“I know that someone has been spreading my business all over the streets and I wonder who it was.”

Treasure tells him “I felt like I had to tell Sina about you and Tommie because she is my friend and you claim to love her.” Joc tells Treasure “You have no right to get in my business and I can’t mix business with pleasure, so you have to go.”

If that was not bad enough, Joc fired Treasure on the spot.

We then switched gears to Joc, Scrappy and Stevie who were listening to some new music being recorded by someone named Gunplay.

Stevie was congratulated by all of the men for becoming a father, again.

When Joc opened up about all the female drama in his life, Stevie wanted to know whether Tommie was going to get hurt in the crossfire.

Stevie asks “Are you smashing Tommie?” Joc says “Nope. She was using me to get back at Karlie.”

Scrappy then started thinking about the future, while confirming his wedding was off. He also wanted to celebrate the momentous occasion.

Scrappy says “I want to throw a bachelor bash.” Stevie says “I have a Panamanian Goddess that I’ll bring through.”

Um, alright then.

Scrappy then met up with Momma Dee to let her know about the wedding.

She asks him “What’s going on with you and the Bam?”

Scrappy says “Nothing. It’s over I am having a bachelor bash to get all my feelings out of me because I am moving on to Miami.”

Momma Dee was less than impressed but knew she would be fighting a losing battle if she commented on it. Momma Dee then asked about the situation with Kirk and Rasheeda.

“Rasheeda is heartbroken, and Kirk is laughing and talking about how he won’t take a DNA test.” Momma Dee says “Oh yes he will. I need to go talk to Shirleen and see what we can do about this.”

Scrappy says “I would love to ask you not to do that.”

Oh, the drama.

Momma Dee met up with Shirleen to compare notes on the situation between Kirk and Rasheeda.

“Kirk was trying to put the blame in the marriage on Rasheeda by saying that she wasn’t having sex with him and that if she didn’t want to share him, she needed to give it up,” Momma Dee begun.

Shirleen says “That’s a bunch of bull.” Momma Dee also tells her “Kirk feels like he is being nailed to the cross like Jesus.” Shirleen laughs and says “Good because that’s what he needs!”

At Scrappy’s party, Tammy appeared and turned on him.

“My girl Bam isn’t here. What happened with the wedding?” Scrappy tells her “She got up and said There ain’t no wedding and that was all.”

Treasure hunted down Joc at the party and managed to turn it around and got her job back.

Shirleen then shocked the whole room with DNA tests to confirm the truth about what is going in with Kirk and his baby. Everyone looks around them, shocked at the very scene in front of them.

The Voice Recap: Top 10 Hang Tough, But Who"s in Danger?

The Voice top 10 performers laid it all on the line once again Monday night, and the stakes are high, especially after the last two weeks.

Obviously, every week matters when you’re facing elimination, but after The Voice results last Tuesday, it’s clear that no one is safe.

It’s time to run down all of the performances from the episode.

Jesse Larson

Jesse Larson’s latest performance was a cut above last week’s and boy; it was needed. Singing “Jungle Love” by The time, he made me realize just how much he deserved to be in the competition.

He made the song his own and turned in a rock-solid performance. What more could I ask for?

Aliyah Moulden

Aliyah went with “Jealous” by Labyrinth, and it proved that she had the vocal range to make even a quieter song sound awesome.

All season long, she’s been singing anything that she can shout at, but this showed a completely different side to her.

Vanessa Ferguson

Vanessa opted to sing “Doo Wop” by Lauryn Hill, and it was a return to form for the star. There is absolutely nothing negative I could say about this number.

Mark Isaiah

There was something very off about Mark’s performance tonight. He went with “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles, and it was just not all that.

The song is not a good one, and the performance suffered. I’m all for people trying to break out of their vocal range, but this was a resounding dud.

Chris Blue

“24K Magic” by Bruno Mars is a great song, and Chris is an excellent sing, so what could go wrong? A lot. Here’s the thing: Chris has a knack for hitting all the notes, but adding in a high-octane dance number meant his voice struggled.

Whether this will signal the end of his time in the competition is another story, but something tells me he may have screwed up.

Lilli Passero

Lilli went with “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole, and it was a doozy. I’ve been critical of Lilli in the past, but she’s managed to find her groove and is not straying away from that.

More performances like this and I could Lilli on the season finale.

Lauren Duski

The country singer went with “Tell Me Why” by Wynonna Judd, and it was pretty amazing. She effortlessly hit all the notes and kept the audience intrigued.

Hunter Plake

Hunter went with “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood, and it was meh. It was such a shame because he’s been one of the ones to watch, but he’s tailed off over the past few weeks.

He needs to get it back together right about now because two people are leaving the process. Maybe he never got the memo.

TSoul

This competitor went with “At this Moment” by Billy Vera. It was great, with several portions that sounded amazing. He knows his style, and he sticks to it.

Brennley Brown

Brennley has been a frontrunner since the start of the season. Singing “Anyway” by Martina McBride definitely kept that going.

She will be in the final 8.

Who do you think should get the chop?
