Counting On Recap: Unfinished Business

Monday evening on TLC’s Counting On Season 6 Episode 2, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth were still living out of an RV.

Yes, their home was still unfinished. But they decided to enjoy their first meal together as a married couple there just the same.

If you watch Counting On online, you saw Joy and Austin’s courtship and wedding play out, but remember, these are Duggars.

This timeline was remarkably short. As such, they had never cooked a meal together before. In life. (Or had their own house.)

Even though the place wasn’t completed, “we thought it’d be special to eat our first meal in our new house,” Joy told producers.

Her 24-year-old husband added, “We don’t have to wait until the house is complete. We can go in there and have our first dinner.”

Joy, 20, wanted to make sure to make the setting “romantic,” despite the lack of finished floors, walls or air conditioning. Details.

That’s what the best memories are made of, right?

Obviously, for the pregnant Joy and Austin, living in an RV was not ideal, but they didn’t seem too bothered by the situation.

“Living in the RV is definitely … it’s fun,” Joy said with a smile. “It’s quaint,” Austin added. “Sometimes it can get a little tight.”

At the time, she was expecting, but still remaining tight-lipped about it; Joy-Anna Duggar gave birth to a son on February 23.

And yes, the house was finished on time for that.

Other Duggars experienced milestones as well on this installment, such as Jessa Duggar’s son Spurgeon and his first haircut.

At the age of 18 months, Spurge got his first trim … and Jessa herself did the honors. She’s talented as well as thrifty, after all.

“The strategy for giving Spurgeon his haircut is to distract him so he doesn’t really know what’s going on,” Jessa explained.

“I’m going to try to distract him and then just kind of sneak in there and trim it up,” she added, while husband Ben helped out.

“We should be able to get the job done,” he said.

“If we can get him focused on something, then maybe he won’t move his head around a lot or try to grab Jessa’s hand or anything like that.”

They pulled it off. Down in Laredo, Texas, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo were adjusting to life as newlyweds themselves.

Jeremy’s key to a happy marriage? “She’s the boss.”

He’s a smart man. Jinger added, “We both, like with our personalities, we get along. We aren’t very upset by too much.”

Vuolo reiterated that Jinger Duggar wears the pants. Sometimes literally these days, and definitely in the figurative sense.

“There have been some disagreements, but I have learned through experience that if Jinger disagrees with me, she’s probably right.”

Key to a happy marriage right there.

Stevie J: Headed to Jail for Being a Deadbeat Dad?!?

Love, Hip Hop and… jail time?

Maybe so for Stevie J.

The VH1 reality star is in rather serious trouble with the law, according to TMZ, and may very well face prison time in the near future for failure to pay child support.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York tells this celebrity gossip website that Stevie must turn himself in to authorities by April 10 because has fallen way behind with these payments.

By how much, exactly?

The occasional rapper reportedly owes $ 1.3 million in back child support!

This is typically a state issue, but it’s atypical for someone to owe this much money.

Considering the amount and considering the length of time Stevie has been in arrears (along with the fact that Stevie and the baby mamas involved live in different states), this case has been moved to the federal level.

That does not bode well for Mr. J.

Stevie rose to fame as a critical cast member in the Love & Hip Hop franchise.

He was even given his own spinoff, Leave It to Stevie, but it only lasted a single season.

Back in February of last year, Stevie pleaded guilty to failure to pay child support, accepting responsibility at the time and being ordered to make good on $ 1,304,835.86.

Yet he has failed to make a dent in this giant number in the 12 months since.

As a result, federal prosecutors plan to toss Stevie in the clink after he turns himself in, something that we heard was a possibility as far back as January of 2017.

Stevie has SIX children overall, by multiple women.

He most recently welcomed a daughter named Bonnie Bella with on-again/off-again/on-again/off-again girlfriend Joseline Hernandez.

The two have engaged in a number of epic fights and traded a multitude of crazy insults over the years, but they appeared to reach a detente last May, as Joseline shared a number of cute baby photos online.

We can’t say for certain whether Joseline is the woman to whom Stevie owes child support, but odds are very strong that he owes these legally-obligated payments to more than one individual.

After all, we’re talking about $ 1.3 million here.

That’s a mammoth chunk of change!

As a matter of record in this scandal, here’s a rundown of Stevie’s kids and baby mamas:

– Son Dorian Jordan was born in 1995. His mother is someone named Rhonda Henderson.

– Daughter Sadie Jordan was also born in 1995 (LOL) and her mother is someone named Felicia Stover.

– Son Steve Jordan was born in 1997 and daughter Savannah Jordan was born in 1998. They were each birthed by Carol Antoinette Bennett.

– Daughter Eva Giselle Jorda was born in 2009. Her mother is VH1 star Mimi Faust.

– And then Bonnie Bella Jordan was born to Joseline and Stevie in December of 2016.

The real question here is whether or not Stevie can actually name all of his children.

We somehow doubt it.

Becca Kufrin Breaks Silence on The Ultimate Bachelor Heartbreak

Yes, that actually happened on The Bachelor finale last night.

All The Bachelor spoilers you had read about, yet had difficulty believing, actually became a reality:

Arie Luyendyk Jr really did propose to Becca Kurfin in Peru, selecting her as the winner of his season and his heart…

… only to turn around a short while later and dump her for runner-up Lauren!

For real, people!

“Sometimes when I’m on these little getaways with Becca I think about, What would this be like with Lauren?” Arie told the camera during the third hour of this stunning finale, adding:

“It just kills me, because I have a great woman next to me. I go to bed and I think about Lauren. I wake up and I think about Lauren. And I know Becca sees when I struggle.

“She sees the fact that my mind is somewhere else. She knows that I think about Lauren.”

Explaining his “guilt” and how he made a big “mistake”to viewers, Arie later welcomed Becca to Los Angeles, sat her down on the couch – and dumped her!

“The reality of it is that being with you, although it’s been everything that I wanted, I still think about [Lauren],” Arie told Becca, earning points for honest… we guess.

“Are you f-cing kidding me?” Becca replies after Arie admits he wants to see if there’s a “possibility” for him and Lauren.

This scene, of course, was filmed several weeks ago.

How does Becca feel about the shocking and emotional development now?

“He’s a good person, I don’t think he’s a monster and purposely did this to hurt me and make me feel this way,” Kurfin tells People Magazine, expounding as follows:

“But it’s just the result of his actions.

“At the end of the day, I don’t think he thought through everything of how ending things with Lauren would be, how being engaged to me would be and what breaking up with me and going back to her would be.

“I don’t think he thought it through, but I don’t think he did it maliciously to break my heart.”

That’s a mature way to look at things. And likely an accurate one.

Arie is getting roasted over every Internet coal right now, but would it have been better if he denied his feelings for Lauren, stayed with Becca and broke up with her prior to the wedding anyway?

Only one of 22 Bachelors has ever actually married the woman he chose on the finale.

This type of matchmaking simply does not work and perhaps Arie should actually get some kudos for being honest with himself and realizing what he needed to do before it was too late.

Not that anyone can blame Kurfin for her bitter feelings.

“I never thought for a million years that once the going started to get tough that he would throw in the towel and jump ship and say, ‘Oh sorry, I changed my mind,"” she now says to People.

“I didn’t think we were at that point whatsoever.”

Becca also blames Arie for doing the heartbreaking deed in front of ABC cameras, which is a very good point.

She says getting dumped in this manner was “embarrassing” and adds:

“There was a better and more tactful way to do it.

“A breakup is hard enough, and to have it all filmed and have to re-watch it and know that people all across the country are watching you get your heart broken, it is embarrassing. It’s not fun.

“I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It was like a slap in the face.”

The two-hour After the Rose special airs tonight on ABC.

We’ll discover the status of Arie and Lauren’s relationship during this unique episode of the show.

Becca is quick to say she doesn’t blame Lauren for her role in this debacle of a romance, just Arie for how he handled the whole thing.

But she’ll be just fine in the end.

“At the end of the day I wouldn’t’ change the experience because I met so many amazing people and I fell in love and I had this great experience and memories,” she concludes to People.

“I’m still going to feel a sense of compassion for him because I did love him but at this point, I want him to be happy, I want to be done and not have to worry about them anymore.

“They’re going to be together and do their thing. I wanted to move on and have my person that I can focus on and live my life with. At the end of the day, I do forgive him.”

And, hey, perhaps she’ll end up as The Bachelorette!
