Bill Cosby: Cleared of Sexual Assault Charges in LA

Last week, Bill Cosby was charged with felony assault in connection with allegations made by Andrea Constand, one of more than 50 women who have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct.

At first, it seemed that the walls might be closing in on Cosby, as on the day the charges were announced, he was also being investigated for allegedly molesting Chloe Goins, a teenage model he met at the Playboy Mansion in 2008.

Now, however, TMZ is reporting that Cosby is in the clear in LA after the DA rejected charges filed against him by both Goins and a teenager whom he allegedly assaulted in 1965.

The latter case was thrown out due to the statute of limitations, while Goins’ charges were rejected as a result of insufficient evidence.

Cosby reportedly had an alibi proving that he was out of the town on the night that Goins claimed that she crossed paths with him.

It looks as though Cosby won’t even face a civil suit for allegedly drugging and fondling Goins, as sources say she and Cosby reached a secret settlement last month.

So the formerly beloved TV icon may be celebrating today (which we imagine includes sporting his zaniest sweater while making funny faces in time to smooth jazz music), but he still faces up to ten years in prison if he’s found guilty in the Constand case.
