Vanessa Hudgens Thanks Fans for Their Support

After blowing fans away with her portrayal of Rizzo in Grease: Live on Sunday night, Vanessa Hudgens has taken a few moments to thank these very same fans for their loyalty.

The actress took to the Fox stage just hours after her father, Greg Hudgens, died from cancer.

After writing on social media that she would still appear in the live production as a way to “honor” her dad’s memory, Hudgens did her late parent proud with a pair of captivating solos.

First, there was her mocking of Sandra Dee:

Then, there was her heartfelt ballad, a beloved Grease song that gave us a look at the vulnerable side to Hudgens’ tough character:

Along with the photo above, Hudgens proceeded to Tweet the following on her official account the day after the well-reviewed show aired:

“I can’t believe @GoGrease is OVER! Grand opening and grand closing. Thank you to everyone who watched & supported me last night.”

She added:

“Doing #GreaseLive was one of the most incredible experiences and I’m so glad you guys liked it as much as I did. Till next time Rizz #PinkLadyForLife.”

At the conclusion of the three-hour program, Fox also did its part to pay tribute to Vanessa’s dad.

It ended the production by posting these words on the screen:

“In loving memory of Greg Hudgens. June 22, 1950 – January 30, 2016.”

We continue to send our thoughts and prayers to Vanessa and her loved ones.
