Kim Burrell: I Love Gay People! They"ll Just Burn in Hell!

Kim Burrell is not sorry for saying she hates the gay lifestyle.

Mostly because Kim Burrell is trying to argue that she never said she hates the gay lifestyle.

This may seem hard to believe, however, for anyone who has watched the video posted above.

It features Burrell giving a sermon at Love & Liberty Fellowship Church. It’s unclear just when this sermon was given.

But it’s pretty darn clear how the gospel singer feels about homosexuals.

“That perverted homosexual spirit is a spirit of delusion and confusion and has deceived many men and women, and it has caused a strain on the body of Christ,” Burrell says in the footage, which has gone viral.

She adds:

“Anybody in this room who feels the homosexual spirit, beg God to free you.’

She also implies that gay people will die in 2017.

The artist, who has been making the media rounds of late due to a duet with Pharrell Williams that is included in the film Hidden Figures, received immediate backlash regarding the comments.

This is what Pharrell wrote in response on Twitter, for example:

Burrell was also scheduled to sing her song with Pharrell on Thursday’s episode of Ellen.

But that appearance has been canceled by the show.

In defense of her remarks and her overall viewpoint on homosexuality, Burrell has recorded a series of Facebook videos in which she aims to explain herself.

“I never said LGBT last night, I said S-I-N,” the singer says to open the non-apology, continuing as follows:

“Now what was posted was not all that I preached, too. Only that. Isn’t that something? That is designed of the enemy to make it look like I have a personal agenda against people…

“There’s a responsibility in the church to represent the almighty God, and it is wrong for us to gather, that as we rep God, that we take his place. Don’t think that. I’m not that shallow.”

She concluded:

“I know that people are going to be mad. … To every person that is dealing with the homosexual spirit, that has it, I love you because God loves you. But God hates the sin in you and me, anything that is against the nature of God.

“I’m called to do what God called me to do, and that’s it, and I do it with passion. … I make no excuses or apologies.

“I never said that all gays were going to hell. That never came out of my mouth. …

“I said people who operate with that spirit in the church with deception and attack themselves are going to have to face the master.”

Ah yes, the typical I-Don’t-Hate-People-I-Am-Just-Passing-Along-the-Word-of-God-and-You-Will-Burn-in-Hell defense.

Come on. At least own your opinion. At least come right out and admit you think all gay people are sinful creatures who will pay for their choices in the afterlife.

What do you think of Kim Burrell’s sermon and viewpoint?

Does she deserve to be ostracized in Hollywood?

Or is this an example of anti-Christianity? Should fans care about the religious views of a singer or just whether or not she can carry a tune?

Weigh in now on whether or not we ought to include Kim Burrell in the following photo gallery.

While producers on Ellen have nixed Burrell’s scheduled appearance, Ellen DeGeneres herself is yet to say anything about the situation.
