Caitlyn Jenner can say something about herself that few other celebrities can say:
She formerly lived her life as a man.
But Jenner can now say something else about herself that makes her stand out from most other stars in Hollywood:
She will be attending Donald Trump’s Presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. on Friday.
An outspoken Republican, who once blasted Hillary Clinton as a f-cking liar, will attend the event as a representative of the American Unity Fund, an organization aimed at advancing LGBT rights.
Jenner clearly believes that she needs to give Trump a chance to prove that he really does care about minority groups in that country.
Which is fine and admirable. There’s no real controversy in Jenner merely attending the inauguration.
But a member of Trump’s administration told The New York Post this week that Trump is being persuaded to not just welcome Jenner at an inaugural ball…
… but to actually share a dance with the transgender star!
“The image of Trump dancing with Caitlyn would send a strong message that he supports gay rights and trans rights,” reads the newspaper’s article, with an anonymous official adding:
“A picture is worth a thousand tweets.”
And we all know how much Donald Trump hates Tweeting.
But is there any validity to this report?
Will we really see photos and video footage on Friday night of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star slow-dancing with the former Celebrity Apprentice host?
Tragically, it doesn’t sound that way.
“This is a ridiculous story,” a rep for Jenner tells People Magazine, adding in unfortunate detail:
“There have been no discussions about who Caitlyn will or won’t dance with, or if she will dance at all. I can’t deal in hypotheticals and have no idea what any Trump aids hope happens.
“Of course, real question is if they danced, who would lead?”
Seems like an odd time for a lame joke, but hey:
We just elected Donald Trump as President of the United States. We’ll be living in an odd time overall for at least the next four years.
A different insider, meanwhile, emphasis the basis for Jenner’s inauguration attendance.
“Caitlyn sees this as a chance to bring attention to LGBTQ causes and she is committed to protecting human rights no matter the political party in power,” says this source.
“She has no problem speaking out if Republicans fail to protect equal rights.”
Good. We’re glad she’s fighting for this cause.
And Jenner isn’t the only celebrity who is showing some support for Trump.
