At the Billboard Music Awards last Sunday night, Miley Cyrus was moved to tears toward the end of her performance.
She sang her latest track, "Malibu," in front of millions of viewers and seemed to be overcome with emotion as she belted out lyrics written about fiance Liam Hemsworth.
Fast forward a few days and Cyrus delivered yet another moving rendition of this single on Tuesday.
But for a very different reason.
On The Voice finale, prior to Chris Blue being named this season"s winner, Miley took to the stage and said the following before she broke into a version of "Malibu."
"I"d like to dedicate this song to my good friend, Ariana Grande, and everyone who experienced that horrific attack yesterday. Our hearts are with you."
Miley, of course, was referring to the deadliest mass murder in Great Britain since 2005.
At the very end of Grande"s concert in Manchester, as fans were making their way to the exits, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive that killed 22 people.
The unspeakable tragedy has evoked responses from politicians and celebrities from around the globe, with Miley previously sharing the following photo of herself and Grande on Instagram.
"wishing I could give my friend @arianagrande a great big hug right now… love love love you," wrote Cyrus as a caption to it, adding;
"so sorry you had to be apart of such a tragic event! my most sincere condolences to anyone and everyone affected by this horrific attack! all I can do is send as much HOPE & PEACE your way! This MUST end! No more war …. no more innocent lives taken …. L-O-V-E."
A source close to Ariana tells Entertainment Tonight that she is "an absolute wreck" following the tragedy.
"She cares more about her fans than anything," this insider says.
It"s all so truly horrifying.
