Miley Cyrus wasn"t kidding in a recent interview:
She really has changed.
Speaking to Billboard, the artist explained that she"s stopped smoking pot, is "completely clean" these days and focused an "evolution."
She says she"s no longer in her "Dead Petz" phase.
With the release of her latest music video, we now understand what Miley means.
Gone are the risque outfits, the crotch grabs and the dirty dance moves.
In their place is a serene and happy Cyrus belting out the lyrics to the track "Malibu" frolicking all around and lying in a fielf of flowers.
Yes, the singer still flaunts her bikini body on the beach, but she does so while taking in the beauty of a waterfall.
The peaceful, upbeat video is chock full of with clips of Miley running with colorful balloons by the ocean… standing on the edge of a cliff …and playing with a cute puppy.
She"s traded in her typical outlandish fashion for flowing white dresses and minimal makeup.
There"s no edge here whatsoever.
The video is very pretty, but, let"s be honest, also pretty darn boring.
Miley has said she wrote "Malibu" about fiance Liam Hemsworth, referencing the pair"s rough path at one point in her lyrics, which reads:
“I never would’ve believed you if three years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song."
The artist recently got in some trouble for slamming the misogynistic messages at the center of hip hop music.
She later clarified these comments, but at least she has put her music where her mouth is.
The following video is as opposite from the "d-ck riding" and "c-ck sucking" she blasts that genre for as one can get. Check it out now:
