Ever since it was revealed a few days ago that Drake Bell was not invited to Josh Peck’s wedding, the internet has been ablaze with theories about what went wrong between the former friends.
As you probably recall, we reported that Josh married longtime girlfriend Paige O’Brien over the weekend in a beautiful ceremony in Malibu.
In now deleted tweets, Drake cut all ties with Josh for not inviting him to the joyous occasion, while attacking his character.
“When you’re not invited to the wedding the message is clear,” Bell wrote.
“True colors have come out today. Message is loud and clear. Ties are officially cut. I’ll miss you brotha.”
If Drake was trying to be subtle about his feelings, it was a resounding failure.
Anyway.
A source close to Josh has opened up to US Weekly about Josh’s feelings on the matter, and it looks like the former friends grew apart.
“At Josh’s wedding this weekend some guests were asking Josh Peck where Drake was. Josh told everyone that he and Drake hadn’t spoken in three years.They would tweet each other back on social media a couple times a year, but never actually spoke,” the source tells Us.
“When Drake didn’t get invited to Josh’s wedding, he started tweeting all of those dramatic memes. Josh was really hurt. They aren’t close anymore, and Josh had a very small wedding.”
Having a small wedding is something a lot of couples choose to do. Some people don’t like to make a big fuss of their wedding day, and it results in some people being left off guestlist.
It’s not uncommon, so we can see why Drake did not make the invite list, but we also hear that Drake did not even congratulate Josh when he got engaged.
That’s downright rude and makes us wonder why the heck Drake thinks he should have made the cut for the guest list.
Drake was especially pissed because Drake & Josh producer, Dan Schneider was at the event.
“Drake was upset that Dan Schneider was there,” the insider tells Us. “Because he and Josh were friends years ago, he thought he would have gotten an invite, even though they never talk.”
It all seems a little tit for tat, but what more could you expect from Drake Bell who is trying desperately to stay in the spotlight by any means necessary.
Sigh.
It may be one of the silliest feuds in the celebrity gossip world, but we can’t help but wonder who will strike next.
