Flight Makes Emergency Landing Due to Passenger Who Won"t Stop Farting

Passenger 57?

More like Flatulence 57, folks!

Don’t worry. This genius joke will make a lot more sense in just a few moments…

According to multiple news outlets (who apparently lacked a lot of hard news to report on over the weekend), a Transavia Airlines pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on a flight from Dubai to Amsterdam Schiphol several days ago.

The reason for said emergency landing?

Two female passengers on board the plane continually asked another passenger to please stop passing gas.

When this third passenger refused to do so, a loud argument broke out and gave the pilot no choice but to quell the smelly chaos by cutting the trip short.

Following a warning from crew members that did not to prevent the farting or the subsequent fighting, the plane was diverted to Vienna Airport.

Police boarded the plane after it landed and removed two women and two men that the pilot reported as “passengers on the rampage,” Metro reports.

This publication adds that the two women were sisters and that authorities brought a dog on board as well, presumably because canines have an especially great senses of smell.

And we guess such an ability would come in handy during this sort of situation.

“We had no idea who these boys were, we just had the bad luck to be in the same row and we didn’t do anything,” said Nora Lacchab, one of the women.

She added:

“All I will say is that the crew were really provocative and stirred things up.”

She and her sibling are thinking about filing a lawsuit against the airline.

All four passengers were released from police custody without being charged.

However, all have been banned from flying Transavia Airlines ever again.

Said the company in a statement:

“Our crew must ensure a safe flight. When passengers pose risks, they immediately intervene. Our people are trained for that.

“They know very well where the boundaries are. Transavia is therefore square behind the cabin crew and the pilots.”

Makes sense to us.

The thing is, we still don’t know the name of the person who actually dealt the farts.

In our experience, however, it was likely the same person who smelt them.
