Bethenny Frankel: My Co-Stars Can"t Afford Their Lavish Lifestyles!

There’s more to Bethenny Frankel than a reality star who knows how to show off her melons while shading her frenemies.

She is also a businesswoman.

But in a new interview, Bethenny is saying that many of her co-stars don’t have an ounce of her business sense — and cannot afford their lifestyles.

If you watch The Real Housewives of New York City online or even just follow the ladies on social media, you know the kind of opulent lifestyles that many of them lead.

But in a recent interview with Money, Bethenny says that her co-stars are spending recklessly and could end up poor if something goes wrong.

“They can’t afford the lives they’re living,” Bethenny announces in reference to her fellow Real Housewives.

Bethenny goes on to declare: “and if the music stops, they’re going to get in some trouble.”

In explanation, Bethenny says: “You can’t put yourself in a position where, if the shit hit the fan, you couldn’t pay all of your bills at one time.”

Bethenny says that, unlike some of her short-sighted co-stars, she is prepared for a worst-case scenario.

“If the world came to an end,” Bethenny says, referring to an economic crisis. “I would be able to pay for everything.”

“I might not be left with much,” she admits.

“But,” Bethenny says. “I can afford what I have.”

Good for her!

This doesn’t come from nowhere.

Bethenny was only paid $ 7,250 for the first season of The Real Housewives of New York City, but she made sure that her contract did not require her to give Bravo a share of her profits from her business.

As a result, the Skinnygirl mogul raked in millions that Bravo could not touch.

This stipulation became known as the “Bethenny clause.”

“Everybody else just had to try to play catch-up,” Bethenny says. “After they saw what I did.”

What Bethenny is talking about when she discusses the finances of her co-stars is sustainable spending and keeping a reserve of liquid assets.

For simplicity’s sake, if your paycheck is a million dollars a year and you spend a million dollars a year, that means that if you suddenly lose that job, you have nothing but the property that you own.

It’s good to have cash on hand in case something goes wrong.

We say cash because, as Bethenny suggests, sometimes “the music stops” — meaning an economic downturn.

Bethenny is saying that, if RHONY ended and all of her investments and businesses went to hell, she’d still be able to cover her current bills and continue living.

But she is suggesting that some of her co-stars would s–t out of luck.

Now, a very fair objection is that not everyone is worth millions and, therefore, not everyone is able to set aside a rainy day fund as Bethenny has.

But please notice that she is not suggesting that a minimum wage worker who takes home $ 250 a week is somehow inadequate for not having savings.

Bethenny is talking about other wealthy socialites and reality stars — women with real financial options.

Of course, what they do with their money is their business, but if Bethenny’s assessment is accurate, they may want to curtail their lavish spending.

Bethenny knows what she’s talking about.

Duggars SLAMMED For Lavish Displays of Wealth: They Own HOW MANY Planes?!

The Duggars built their media empire by shilling wholesome values and the joys of simple living to an audience that ate it up like so many pickles and Chick-Fil-A sandwiches.

But throughout the family’s decade in the spotlight, even diehard fans have wondered if the Duggars are living double lives – preaching the virtues of frugality and humility, while at the same time enjoying lives of incredible fame and fortune.

Over the years, fans have taken issue with Jim Bob’s “high-class hoarding,” and other ostentatious displays of wealth.

The Duggar patriarch has been accused of buying up large tracts of land with no plans to make use of them, simply so that he might appear even more powerful in the eyes of local politicians.

Not exactly in keeping with the WWJD philosophy, but believe it or not, Jim Bob’s desire for increased clout and high-end antiques isn’t even the most galling example of the family’s mixed messaging regarding personal wealth.

No, that honor belongs to the Duggars’ astonishingly large fleet of private aircraft.

You may have been aware that the Duggars own a private jet, but were you aware that they own several other small planes, as well?

The first and most famous Duggar aircraft is the one belonging to John David, who was the first in the family to get his pilot’s license.

The plane, a Cirrus SR22 was purchased as a gift for the Duggar’s second-oldest son back in 2014.

At the time, it would’ve retailed for about $ 764,900, but as In Touch Weekly points out the Duggars probably bought it used.

Which means it probably only ran them about $ 200,000.

Since then the number of pilots in the Duggar clan has grown rapidly with Josiah earning his license and Joy marrying Austin Forsyth who counts piloting among his many professions.

So perhaps it’s not surprising that Jim Bob has decided to expand the family fleet in a major way.

Just last year, the Duggars purchased four planes from the ALERT Academy, bringing their total number of aircraft to whopping eight.

The folks at In Touch did the math, and assuming that the Duggars paid an average $ 547,000 per plane (only some of the purchases were second hand) that brings the total value of their fleet to $ 3,200,000.

Yes, the family that made a name for itself preaching modesty has spent over 3 mill on private planes in the past four years.

So what exactly is the family doing with all those big birds?

Well, Jim Bob recently incorporated Duggar Aviation LLC, and the company is headquartered out of nearby Springdale, Arkansas.

At this point, however, it doesn’t seem that the family is offering up commercial flights.

That may have plans to do so in the future, but many fans are suspicious that Duggar Aviation is nothing more than a shell corporation that allows Jim Bob to write off his plane collection as a business expense.

All in a day’s work for America’s favorite Christ-lovin’ capitalists.

Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard: Slammed For Lavish Spending, Rude Behavior

Another day, another Duggar controversy.

This one involves the family’s least popular couple (with the possible exception of Josh and Anna), Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard.

Derick has been fired by TLC for making transphobic comments, but the move hasn’t affected the Dillards’ public profile … or their spending habits.

Despite the fact that Jill and Derick have been asking for money from fans and appear to be living on handouts these days, the couple continues to live as they did when they were the stars of a successful television series.

The Counting On cash was divided many different ways, so the Dillards weren’t fabulously wealthy, even at the height of the show’s success.

But now, as they attempt to feed two children while relying on nothing but charitable donations, it seems Jill and Derick have made no changes in their personal finances.

For example, over the weekend, Jill was a member of a friend’s wedding party.

Like the other bridesmaids, she wore gold shoes, and many fans were quick to point out that the proponent of “modest attire” likely spent a pretty penny on the fancy footwear.

The above photo was posted on Derick’s Instagram page, and like everything the former reality star does these days, it attracted a good deal of criticism:

“I’m sorry but if my husband ever bullied any child i dont think i could stand by him,” wrote one fan.

“My husband is an Officer and a Military Man he works his ASS off for his family !!! Stop being beggars and people won’t give a damn what type of shoes u wear,” commented another.

Obviously, criticizing Jill for expensive-looking shoes (that may have not actually been expensive) is a bit nit-picky, but we suppose when your money comes from fans, fans are allowed to talk trash.

And gilded heels aren’t the only questionable decision the Dillards have made in recent weeks.

Sources say Jill and Derick were spotted at the Silver Dollar City amusement park earlier this month, where they acted the part of spoiled, entitled celebrities.

Onlookers claim Derick cut lines, was rude to staff, and even rammed a stroller with his children in it into a crowd of people were standing in his way.

Not very godly behavior from a man who’s currently working to become a minister.

But don’t worry–something tells us life after reality TV will mighty humbling to Derick.
