Mathew Knowles: I Had No Idea Beyonce Was Pregnant!
Beyonce almost broke the internet earlier this week by taking to Instagram to reveal the news that she is expecting twins.
Turns out, the baby news was so secretive that she even kept her father, Mathew Knowles in the dark about it.
The 65-year-old has now revealed to The Insider’s Debbie Matenopoulos that he found out the exciting news via Instagram.
“I was shocked,” Knowles explained.
“Let me tell you what happened. I got a first text, and I was like, ‘Why is this person saying congratulations?’ Then I get a second text from one of my students at Texas Southern, and I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ He was like, ‘Go to the web.’ I didn’t know myself.”
However, Mathew seemed to think that the way she went about the announcement was “smart.”
Well, the picture has emerged as the most liked picture on Instagram in the history of the site.
“That was very smart that she did it rather than someone else, [like] the media, doing it. So I think that was a really smart move on her part,” he said.
He also pointed out he thinks “it was strategy” and “there’s more to come.”
He does have a point. Beyonce likes to have an element of surprise around announcements. Back in 2013, she released Beyonce straight to iTunes without a prior announcement.
It worked in her favor and was a roaring success with fans and critics alike. This tactic continued with Lemonade.
“I guess that’s why it’s Beyoncé, right?” he joked. “She’s always been like that.” “She was quiet as a kid,” he noted.
“It’s when she got on the stage that everything [changed]. Sasha Fierce, remember?”
The doting father contacted Beyonce as soon as he got wind of the pregnancy.
“I was like ‘B,’ [and] she said, ‘Hi, Dad.’ I was like, ‘You’re OK?’ Because she sounded a little tired because she’s working on the GRAMMY performance.”
“We just had a wonderful daughter-dad conversation,” he added. “[But] I’m not gonna tell you all of that.”
On top of that, he revealed that Beyonce was ecstatic with the reaction from fans.
“Absolutely she feels the love,” he said.
“I know I feel the love for her. I’ve probably gotten at least 250 text messages. So, I’m feeling the love for her and I’m sure she’s feeling and seeing the love.”
When quizzed about becoming a grandfather to the two new editions, it was evident that Mathew was excited.
“I’m extremely, extremely proud and happy, both with Jay and her,” he gushed.
“And [their daughter] Blue Ivy is gonna have some brothers and sisters.”
“Blue Ivy is already excited,” he continued.
“Beyoncé and I had a great conversation yesterday. I’m looking forward to seeing her soon and I told her, ‘Look, slow down a little bit. You need to slow down a little bit."”

But Platinum doesn’t come cheap … charging more than $ 62,000 for 3 months work. Mr. Knowles paid a skosh over $ 37,000 and that’s all she wrote … so claims the tax company.
So, Platinum sued and Knowles was a no-show in court, so he got socked with a judgment north of $ 20k.
Despite the judgement, an attorney for Knowles tells us he still vehemently denies the allegations in the complaint.
