Meadow Walker and Porsche Settle Wrongful Death Suit

Nothing can bring back the late, great Paul Walker.

But his daughter, Meadow Walker, knows this. She’s been waging a battle to find justice for her father’s senseless, but ultimately preventable, death.

And it appears that she has now won.

In 2013, Paul Walker died as the result of a fatal collision. He was not the only fatality in the crash, but it’s his death that tore at the hearts of millions of fans.

His death had a stronger and more personal impact on the cast of the The Fast And The Furious franchise, who were like family to him and regarded him in the same manner.

But Paul Walker also left behind a daughter.

Meadow Walker is now 18.

She’s inherited her father’s humanitarian spirit, his passion for environmentalism, and his stunning good looks.

Seriously:

Meadow has been working to get justice for her late father.

No parent wants their child to have to fight that sort of battle for them, but sometimes, that’s how life works out.

Last April, Meadow Walker was awarded $ 10.1 million in a settlement from the estate of Roger Rodas,

Roger Rodas was the man driving the car and therefore, it was decided, partially liable for the accident that ended his life and Paul Walker’s.

(Of course, that settlement represents a tiny fraction of the amount of money that Paul Walker would have gone on to earn had his life and career not been cut tragically short)

But the grim details of the crash aren’t as simple as Paul Walker dying from the impact.

Because he survived the initial impact.

It was determined that he was trapped and injured by the seatbelt of the Carrera GT (made by Porsche), and that he was therefore unable to escape .. and burned to death.

That’s horrible for anyone to imagine. It’s even worse for Meadow Walker to live with that knowledge.

So Meadow Walker’s legal team has also been working on a wrongful death suit aimed at Porsche.

Her team has been arguing that Porsche knew that the Carrera GT was defective in this way but didn’t do enough to correct the problem.

The Blast has obtained documents that Meadow Walker and Porsche have settled.

The details of the resolution have not been made public, but both parties involved have asked that the suit be dismissed.

Paul Walker’s father had filed a separate suit against Porsche, which also appears to have been dismissed.

Whatever the settlement that the parties involved agreed upon, this must come as a tremendous relief for Meadow Walker.

It can be so hard to be at peace with loss, but maybe with this legal fight behind her, she can feel like there’s just a little bit more closure.

Losing a loved one like that will never be okay. Not four years later, and not forty.

But being secure in the knowledge that you did all that you could to get justice? That goes a long way towards bringing some peace of mnd.

And, again, Meadow Walker’s commitment to great causes in her father’s name amount to a very worthy tribute to the late, beloved actor.

Meadow Walker Honors Late Father, Urges Fans to "DO GOOD"

Paul Walker would have turned 44 years old on Tuesday.

Tragically, of course, the beloved actor was killed in a car crash back in November of 2013.

Never far from the minds of his fans, especially when a new Fast and Furious movie comes out, Walker lost his life in a single-car accident outside of Los Angeles after he lost control of his Porsche and slammed into a tree.

The vehicle exploded and Walker died at the scene.

Meadow Walker was only 15 years old at the time, instantly getting thrust into the spotlight for the most horrific of reasons.

In the time since, Meadow has picked her spots carefully when it comes to speaking out and paying tribute to her dad, such as the instance when she referenced him with a throwback photo and message on Father’s Day.

And now the teenager has done so again.

“In honor of my dad’s birthday today, we’re challenging you to DO GOOD!” Meadow wrote as a caption to the image below, adding:

“Share a video or photo of your random act of kindness and nominate 4 people to join the challenge!

“Be sure to tag the foundation as well as hashtag #PWFdogoodchallenge, so we can check out all of your posts!”

Walked tagged out the late actor’s close friend and Fast and Furious co-star, Vin Diesel, to do the challenge… Diesel responded by sharing his own touching tribute in honor of Walker’s birthday on Tuesday.

Posting a cute flashback photo of Paul holding his daughter Hania on Instagram, Diesel made a point to say she was very “proud” of Meadow.

“Happy birthday Pablo… You have and are still changing the world,” Diesel wrote.

He continued:

“Your love lives through all whom have had the great fortune to know you. Meadow graduated this summer… made us all so proud. She is even building a foundation in your name to help the world.

“Would you believe Cody [Paul’s brother] is in Houston continuing the work you were so passionate about… Remember when we were in Haiti and you asked me what the name should be… and now @reachoutww is realizing the dream.

“All the angels miss you… I miss you.”

It brings a tear to our eye every time Diesel or another former co-star brings up Walker.

The affection they had for him is so clear. There’s nothing fake or forced about these tributes.

Paul Walker really did leave a lasting impression on everyone with whom he came into contact.

May he rest in peace.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we need to take Meadow’s advice and go do some good in the world.

Meadow Walker Breaks Social Media Silence with Beautiful New Selfie

Meadow Walker might sound like the name of some ethereal nature spirit, but she is, of course, the daughter of the late Paul Walker, who tragically died in 2013 when she was only 15.

In recent months, however — really, for the past year — she’s been publicly silent on social media. Until this week, that is, when she posted a brand new selfie. She’s grown into a truly beautiful young woman.

Fame can be challenging, but being famous because your famous father died when you were still a minor is on a whole other level.

Meadow has made appearances on her father’s behalf.

Paul Walker was known for his charitable work, and Meadow has continued that tradition.

She created the Paul Walker Foundation in his memory, and at the time, she explained that on Instagram.

“Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions.”

“His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people, and his passion for spontaneous good will”

“I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world.”

“I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The Paul Walker Foundation on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father.”

That’s beautiful.

But her new photo doesn’t come with a charitable plug, or any caption whatsoever.

Honestly?

That doesn’t need a caption.

Meadow Walker is a beautiful 18-year-old girl, and it’s nice to see her posting photos to social media.

Not just because it’s good to see that she’s alright.

And also not just because she’s drop-dead gorgeous.

(Though also that — good for her!)

But it’s good to see her out of the context of charitable work.

And, as sweet as Meadow Walker’s 2015 Father’s Day tribute to her dad was, it’s nice to see her out of the context of mourning him, also.

Essentially, it’s great to see the non-business side of Meadow, where she’s just living her life.

She’s 18 and she has her whole life ahead of her, after all.

Her previous most recent post to Instagram was made last July — yes, in 2016 — along with a photo of herself and her father in the pool.

“Feeling so honored to combine two of my dad’s legacies into one incredible experience.”

That pretty much sums up a lot of her work.

“Today marks your LAST chance to support The Paul Walker Foundation for a chance to go to the set of #F8, hang out with the cast, AND check out some of the most incredible cars in the world.”

That film has, of course, already come out, which really makes it clear how long ago this last post was.

“Enter through the link in my bio or visit omaze.com/fast for your last chance to win! Don’t miss out, it’s going to be a great time.”

Now that’s pretty much an advertisement, though it’s for a good cause.

And it may have not been her post, but made by an assistant.

But it’s very likely that Meadow has a private Instagram account to use with friends, as most celebrities do.

She’s not a(n adorable) baby anymore.

Her father wouldn’t want her to spend all of her time in his shadow without being her own person, you know?

This wasn’t her first extended absence from Instagram — last time, Meadow Walker posted a bikini photo to announce her return.

It would be amazing if she’s back for good and will start updating regularly.

But she can take as many breaks from the public spotlight as she needs to.

Meadow Walker Awarded $10 Million in Settlement Over Father"s Death

Meadow Walker, daughter of the late actor Paul Walker, was awarded $ 10.1 in a settlement with Roger Rodas’ estate.

Roger Rodas was the driver of the Porsche involved in the accident that killed both Walker and Rodas in 2013, which left fans shocked and devastated.

Jeffrey Milam, Meadow’s attorney, released the following statement:

“The amount paid by the estate of Roger Rodas into a trust for Meadow Walker only covers a fraction of what her father would have earned as an international movie star had his life not tragically been cut short.

“Through his estate, Mr. Rodas, the driver of the car, took partial responsibility for the crash. Meadow’s lawsuit against Porsche AG—a $ 13 billion corporation—intends to hold the company responsibly for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker’s death.”

Earlier this week, Rodas’ widow lost her lawsuit against Porsche, which included allegations of negligence, wrongful death and product liability.

Speaking on the Rodas case, Milam pointed out that the cases were too different to compare.

“The issues in the cases are very different,” he told E! News. “The federal case was filed on behalf of Roger Rodas, who was the driver of the Porsche Carrera GT and was killed instantly upon impact.”

“Meadow’s father, Paul Walker, was a passenger in the car. He survived the crash but was trapped and burned to death because of the vehicle’s defects.”

Last Father’s Day, Meadow, who is now 17, shared a sweet throwback photo of herself as a baby embracing her late father.

Paul Walker"s Daughter Meadow Pays Tribute To Her Father With Big News On What Would"ve Been His 42nd Birthday!

This is so sweet.

Meadow Walker, the daughter of late actor Paul, paid tribute to her daddy today on what would’ve been his 42nd birthday.

Posting a throwback pic of the two of them together during her early childhood (above), Meadow reflected on what her daddy meant to her in a very touching memoriam. Here’s what she wrote (below):

Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others.
