Odell Beckham Jr. on Lena Dunham: Who?!
Last week, perpetually-offended Girls creator Lena Dunham found herself being torn apart by the online “outrage machine,” rather than working the levers herself, as she usually does.
It seems Lena was seated with Odell Beckham, Jr. at the 2016 Met Gala back in May, and she was so astonished when the Giants wide receiver didn’t hang on her every word that she decided it must be because he’s a misogynistic bigot.
“I was sitting next to [Beckham] … He looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards,” Lena said while interviewing Amy Schumer.
“He was like, ‘That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog.’”
The reaction from the press and on social media was that between her “precious snowflake” privileged upbringing and her early success in show business, Lena has spent so much of her life being showered with praise, that when someone appears uninterested in what she’s saying, she assumes it’s because they’re the worst kind of deeply prejudiced person.
In addition, many expressed their beliefs that Lena looking at a black athlete and deciding that the thoughts running through his head are no more complex than “Can I f–k it?” (her actual words) reflects an astonishing level of racist ignorance.
Dunham eventually issued a statement clarifying her comments on Beckham but refused to apologize.
Presumably someone then took her aside and explained that she’s in the wrong – an interaction that’s almost certainly never previously occurred in Dunham’s life.
So the next day, Dunham apologized to Beckham in a social media rant that was, of course, mostly about her and her feelings.
Not surprisingly, the Internet remained pissed.
But you know who couldn’t care less about this whole mess? Odell Beckham, Jr.
While Dunham spent the last week attempting to claw her way out of the deep, dark hole she dug for herself, Beckham remained silent on the issue.
But apparently it wasn’t because he decided to take mercy on Dunham.
No, it had more to do with the fact that these days the standout WR is spending his time studying the Dallas Cowboys defense, not the tabloids:
“I don’t really know much about the situation,” Beckham said in a recent locker room interview.
“There’s never any bad blood between me and anybody. I’m sure it’ll get handled or settled, but right now my focus is way bigger. It’s on Dallas,”
Seems that Lena could really learn something from Odell’s example.
If you don’t really know anything about someone of their thoughts or beliefs, maybe you should just refrain from publicly trashing them.
Just an idea.

Lena Dunham Issues Formal Apology to Odell Beckham Jr.
Lena Dunham would like to put this month’s most unexpected feud to rest.
She’d like to apologize to New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr.
The Girls actress and creator stirred up a bit of controversy this week after making comments to Amy Schumer in an interview for the Lenny Letter website.
Dunham thought back to this spring’s MET Gala in New York City and her awkward experience there, talking to Schumer about what it was like to sit next to Beckham Jr.
“It was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards,” Dunham explained.
She went on to make some big assumptions about what the wide receiver was thinking.
Although the main crux of her point was how she did not fit in such at this sort of fashionable event.
“He was like, ‘That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog.’ It wasn’t mean – he just seemed confused,” Lena continued.
“The vibe was very much like, ‘Do I want to f-ck it? Is it wearing a … yep, it’s wearing a tuxedo. I’m going to go back to my cell phone."”
Critics came out in force after Dunham made these comments because they were based solely on conjecture and they didn’t pain Beckham Jr. in a great light.
Dunham concluded at the time:
“It was like we were forced to be together, and he literally was scrolling Instagram rather than have to look at a woman in a bow tie.
“I was like, ‘This should be called the Metropolitan Museum of Getting Rejected by Athletes."”
After reading the backlash, Dunham Tweeted that Beckham was “super awesome” and she was simply being self-deprecating.
Her comments were all about her and not about him at all.
But now she’s issued a more formal apology.
“I owe Odell Beckham Jr an apology,” Dunham wrote on Instagram yesterday.
She added:
“Despite my moments of bravado, I struggle at industry events (and in life) with the sense that I don’t rep a certain standard of beauty and so when I show up to the Met Ball surrounded by models and swan-like actresses it’s hard not to feel like a sack of flaming garbage.”
She continued:
“This felt especially intense with a handsome athlete as my dinner companion and a bunch of women I was sure he’d rather be seated with.
“But I went ahead and projected these insecurities and made totally narcissistic assumptions about what he was thinking, then presented those assumptions as facts.
“I feel terrible about it.”
For the record, Beckham Jr. is one of the most exciting players in the NFL and may have dated Khloe Kardashian this summer.
He has not commented on the flap.
With accusations of white privilege and reverse sexism floating around the Internet, Dunham concluded as follows:
“Because after listening to lots of valid criticism, I see how unfair it is to ascribe misogynistic thoughts to someone I don’t know AT ALL. Like, we have never met, I have no idea the kind of day he’s having or what his truth is.
“But most importantly, I would never intentionally contribute to a long and often violent history of the over-sexualization of black male bodies- as well as false accusations by white women towards black men.
“I’m so sorry, particularly to OBJ, who has every right to be on his cell phone.
“The fact is I don’t know about his state of mind (I don’t know a lot of things) and I shouldn’t have acted like I did.”
Seems like a pretty in-depth apology to us.
Case closed? Case closed.

Lena Dunham Clarifies Random Odell Beckham Jr. Diss
Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the best wide receivers in the National Football League.
He makes some truly amazing catches.
But Lena Dunham is the one now caught up in an unexpected feud with the New York Giants star as a result of comments she made to Amy Schumer.
Allow us to explain…
n the Lenny Letter interview with Schumer, Dunham wrote the following about the MET Fashion Gala in New York City this past spring:
“I was sitting next to Odell Beckham Jr., and it was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards.
“He was like, ‘That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog.’ It wasn’t mean – he just seemed confused.”
For the record, this is what Dunham wore to the event, which draws a crowd of A-Listers each here from Hollywood:
Continued the outspoken Girls creator:
“The vibe was very much like, ‘Do I want to f-ck it? Is it wearing a … yep, it’s wearing a tuxedo. I’m going to go back to my cell phone.’
“It was like we were forced to be together, and he literally was scrolling Instagram rather than have to look at a woman in a bow tie.

It didn’t take long for Twitter users to respond to Dunham.
They thought it was offensive the way she described someone she really didn’t know, simply making assumptions about the athlete.
(Beckham Jr. was rumored to have briefly dated Khloe Kardashian a few months ago.)
“.@OBJ_3 is talented, stylish, seems super awesome and wasn’t into chatting with me at a fancy party,” Dunham Tweeted of the star.
She added that her little tale to Schumer was all about self-deprecation.
It was about her, not about Beckham.
“My story about him was clearly (to me) about my own insecurities as an average-bodied woman at a table of supermodels & athletes.
“It’s not an assumption about who he is or an expectation of sexual attention. It’s my sense of humor, which has kept me alive for 30 years.”
Clearly perplexed and a bit annoyed over the criticism she received over this pretty funny story, Dunham then asked Schumer on Twitter:
“Glad the outrage machine roars on though, right @amyschumer?”
The wideout, who is entering his third season with the Giants, has yet to respond to Dunham on Twitter.
Dunham does often say some wacky stuff. (See the gallery above).
And she has had to apologize for certain comments, such as when she compared Internet backlash to domestic violence.
But this? This seemed pretty darn harmless.
She was joking that she’s too ugly for a young, attractive athlete to want to sleep with.
Yes, somewhere in there is the assumption that this young, attractive athlete glances around at nearly every woman near him as someone he may want to sleep with.
But you need to look REALLY hard to find a controversy here.

Khloe Kardashian Breaks Silence on Odell Beckham Jr. Dating Rumors!
Looks like Khloe Kardashian heard the latest rumor about herself.
Did you hear it? The one in which Khloe is dating NFL star Odell Beckham, Jr.?
Fans were surprised that she found a new bae so quickly, because she just filed for divorce (again) from Lamar Odom.
Nevertheless, the reality star and Beckham were caught at a party getting super flirty at Drake’s Memorial Day bash earlier this week.
Prior to that, they were allegedly caught making out at a club.
According to reports, the pair have been “low key seeing each other for months,” but only recently went public.
Khloe has remained silent all week (an eternity for her), but has now addressed the rumors on her Twitter account.
“TWIMC: Sorry to burst your bubble. When a couple drinks, a little flirting and an invasion of privacy collide things may look crazy,” she tweeted.
“However…this ain’t that and that ain’t this,” she added.
To be fair, we never said it was “crazy.” Just another Kardashian dating another athlete.
Though Khloe doesn’t mention Beckham by name, she seems to be shutting down the dating rumors by assuring fans that nothing’s really happening.
Sounds like she just got drunk and made out a little.
That’s fair.
And it’s good news for Lamar, who is reportedly trying to stay sober (no, for reals this time!) in a last-ditch effort to win Khloe back before the divorce is finalized in six months.
Let’s see if it works.

Lamar Odom: I Can"t Compete With Odell Beckham Jr!
Poor Lam.
After filing for divorce a second time from the former NBA star, Khloe Kardashian has allegedly moved on. Again.
Over Memorial Day weekend, Kardashian was spotted flirting with the New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr at Drake’s Hidden Hills, CA pool party.
A snitch sent TMZ photos of Kardashian standing very close to Beckham around midnight, noting that they “looked like a couple” and were “definitely into each other.”
Odom soon got wind of the their canoodle session, and he is NOT pleased.
“Lamar ain’t one to be jealous but seeing Khloe with a young stud like Odell has made him mad heated,” a source told Hollywood Life.
“Lamar’s pissed after seeing Khloe in Odell’s clutches. Odell is one of those young cats that has mad swag and virtually can have his pick of any girl he wants.
“Lamar knows Odell’s the toast of the town and honestly knows he doesn’t stand a chance when it comes to competing with Odell for women – Khloe included.
“He’s jealous. He now knows Khloe means business. Seeing her with Odell has made him realize that she’s about to leave him for good and there’s nothing he can really do about it.”
No offense to Odom, but Kardashian made up her mind to end their marriage back in December 2013, when she filed for divorce the first time.
“Khloe sat Lamar down recently and explained she wanted a family, and couldn’t even start the process of looking until she was single again,” sources told TMZ last week.
Odom suffered a near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel, and though his recovery has been called “miraculous,” he is still battling his demons, having been spotted out drinking with friends in recent months.
Kardashian believes he is, however, fit to look after himself on a daily basis, which is why she felt comfortable going ahead with the divorce proceedings.

Khloe Kardashian & Odell Beckham Jr: Dating?!
We think it’s safe to say that Khloe Kardashian has a type.
And that type is professional athletes.
Usually Khloe sticks to basketball players, but it seems she’s mixing it up these days.
Recent rumors have Khloe dating New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr., and insiders say Khlodell started getting serious almost immediately.
Yes, you can tell it’s the real deal by the fact that they already have a couple nickname.
Media Takeout reports that Khloe and Odell have been “low key seeing each other for months,” but only went public this past weekend.
The new couple attended Drake’s Memorial Day party in Los Angeles on Monday, where they apparently made no effort to conceal that they’re dating.
Sources say they’d planned to keep the relationship under wraps longer, but were aware that they had been spotted making out at 1Oak the night before, and thus decided to officially let the cat out of the bag at Drizzy’s.
Like Khloe, Odell prefers A-list lady friends to the company of mere mortals.
Back in February, Beckham was rumored to be dating Zendaya.
Sources say their age difference – coupled with the strictness of the Disney star’s dad, who insisted on chaperoning their dates – eventually led Beckham and Zendaya to amicably part ways.
Prior to that relationship, Beckham was linked to Amber Rose.
It remains to be seen if that’ll create problems, as Amber and Khloe have been feuding on and off for years.
For her part, Khloe was dating James Harden of the Houston Rockets until she turned her attention back to her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, when a drug overdose nearly claimed his life.
Khloe filed for divorce from Odom (after years of separation) earlier this month, so we guess it’s smooth sailing ahead for Khlodell.
Well, as smooth as it can be when you’re dating a Kardashian.

Zendaya & Odell Beckham Jr: Dating?!
Multiple sources are reporting that 19-year-old model and actress Zendaya has a new boyfriend – and it seems he’s quite a catch (sorry).
Yes, Zendaya and NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. are rumored to be an item, and though the couple has yet to publicly confirm their relationship status, it seems they’re not going to any great lengths to hide the fact that they’re dating.
Witnesses say Zendaya and Odell were spotted at the Universal Music Group party following the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday night, and they did not seem to care who knew they were hooking up.
“They were close, whispering in each others ears and maintaining a very flirty vibe,” one onlooker told E! News.
But as much as they might give off a couple vibe at parties, it seems Zendell isn’t officially an item just yet.
Speaking with TMZ, Zendaya’s dad – who chaperoned her on Grammys night – said that his daughter is taking things slowly.
“When you see my daughter out on a date without me, it’s a relationship,” he told a cameraman. “[This is] like an audition, an interview.”
Even if you’re not familiar with her work, you probably remember Zendaya from the great Giuliana Rancic hair controversy of 2015.
Beckham, you probably know as the New York Giants’ human highlight reel.
We hope these two make it work, if only because they might have the most interesting hair of any couple in Hollywood.

Odell Beckham Jr. -- Scores Baller Spot to Lay Out For Home Games (PHOTO)

TMZ Sports has learned OBJ was looking to score a centerpiece for the game room in his crib … y’know, something to tie it together — and hit up Keith Collins, rug maker extraordinaire. Keith tells us OBJ only had a few requirements … it had to be red and black with his name and number.
Collins says the piece took more than 3 months to complete, but OBJ was so impressed with the end result … he’s already talking about an epic sequel: a tapestry of “the catch” from last season.
Collins is used to dealing with baller clients — he’s made rugs and tapestries for the likes of Lebron James, Floyd Mayweather, and even Michael Jackson.
Fun fact: OBJ brought Dez Bryant to check out the rug while it was being made. Bad luck charm, Cowboys fans?
