Flip or Flop: The Show Will Go On... and On!

Tarek and Christina El Moussa no longer share a bed, a bubble bath or a home address.

But the former husband and wife will continue to share the small screen together for the foreseeable future.

In a piece of news both surprising and sensible, it has been confirmed that HGTV has picked up Flip or Flop for many more episodes…

… despite the fact that the hosts at the center of the series are no longer married.

Actually, it may be because the hosts at the center of the series are no longer married.

“Tarek and I have been working together for a long time and we look forward to continuing to work together on Flip or Flop,” Christina told People Magazine of the news.

Adds Tarek: “

From the beginning, HGTV has shown Christina and me tremendous support and we are excited to go out there and flip many more houses for Flip or Flop.”

For those keeping score at home (for some reason), HGTV is extending Season 7 to a total of 20 episodes; the network it not filming a new eighth season of the program at this time.

Christina and Tarek separated about a year ago.

They kept said separation quite, however, while continuing to toil away at their home buying and renovation show, which was the second most-watched series on HGTV in 2016.

Finally, toward the end of the year, the estranged couple was forced to issue a statement that acknowledged their status after word leaked that they had gotten into a monumental argument back in May.

To conclude this fight, Tarek grabbed a gun and stormed off into the woods.

Christina responded by calling the police. who eventually tracked her husband down and were told he was simply blowing off some steam with a hike; he took the weapon with him for protection from animals.

Since then, Tarek has filed for divorce and the reality star have said all the right things.

They’ve both repeated many times that the plan is to co-parent six-year old daughter Taylor and one-year one sold Brayden and that nothing matters more than the well-being of these kids.

But tabloid cover stories such as the one below have hinted at serious trouble beneath the surface.

Last we heard, Christina was angling for a new show without Tarek, as she’s conducted numerous interviews since the split and shared a number of revealing photos on Instagram.

She’s clearly been on a mission to make herself into a sympathetic figure/celebrity.

So… why would HGTV agree to more episodes of Flip or Flop with the El Moussas as host?

Because they’re legitimate stars now. D-List stars at best, but still much bigger names than they were previously.

Ratings have only gone up ever since the break-up was announced, with viewers likely tuning in each week to study and debate every interaction.

Yes, sex sells. But so does a lack of sex between two people who used to have sex and the tension that comes along with it.

Tarek is currently residing in Newport Beach and told People in March that he’s “adjusting” to splitting custody of daughter Taylor and Brayden “pretty much 50-50” with Christina.

“We had a talk and said, ‘We still want the kids to understand we’re a unit – that we’re still a family even if we’re not together,’” he said this spring.

Insiders have been saying, meanwhile, that Tarek has been pushing for an extended working relationship with Christina, if not even a reconciliation on a romantic level.

Flip or Flop premiered in 2013.

At the outset, the couple made a reported $ 10,000 per episode.

Over the past seven seasons, the series has become one of the network’s most popular, recently spawning spinoffs featuring house flipping experts working in Las Vegas, Atlanta, Fort Worth, Nashville and Chicago.

“Tarek and Christina’s expertise and success flipping houses has made Flip or Flop an audience favorite on HGTV for many seasons,” says Allison Page, the general manager for U.S. programming and development for HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel.

“The series is so successful because it shows how real estate and renovation savvy can lead to financial success.”

Following this new deal, Flip or Flop will run to the end of 2017.

American Horror Story Season 7 to Focus on... Donald Trump?!?

According to executive producer Ryan Murphy, American Horror Story Season 7 is set to take on this franchise’s most frightening subject yet.

Climate change? ISIS? The prospect of the New England Patriots winning a sixth Super Bowl next year?

Nope, nope and nope.

Instead, Murphy has said in a couple new interview that American Horror Story Season 7 will tell the tale of… Dona’d J. Trump!

YIKES, right?!?

The creator of American Horror Story (and Nip/Tuck… and Glee… and upcoming FX series Feud) was a guest last night on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Asked about his plans for the seventh installment of his beloved cable anthology, Murphy said he does not yet have a title for Season 7.

But he has a subject matter in mind.

“The season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through.”

For those somehow unaware, the election to which Murphy is referring pitted Trump against Hillary Clinton.

These two long-time public and polarizing figures exchanged pointed barbs throughout 2016, as the wore bore witness to the ugliest President race in U.S. history.

It was won, in stunning fashion, by Trump on November 8.

“Wow! That…wow,” Cohen responds to Murphy’s reveal in the above clip, asking: “Will there be a Trump in it?”

“Maybe,” Murphy replied.

Sounds like another chance for Alec Baldwin to polish his impression!

Following the finale of American Horror Story Season 6 in November, FX tweeted a teaser for Season 7, which seemed to allude to a potential nautical theme for the next installment.

But we should have known better.

These teasers are always vague and weird and don’t really have anything to do with what’s on tap.

In another interview this week, Murphy reiterated the theme of Season 7.

“It’s very scary and very fun and very…topical,” he told E! News. “Anybody who voted in the last election will very much enjoy what it’s about.”

He didn’t reveal many storyline details beyond that preview, simply adding:

“Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson are the leads. But they don’t know who they’re playing…It’s a modern story… We just started back in the writers’ room for that.”

Past seasons of American Horror Story have centered on witches, weird carnival acts, haunted houses, mental asylums and quasi vampires played by Lady Gaga.

But Donald Trump as President?!? Murphy, pictured below on Bravo, truly could not have chosen a scarier topic this time around.

The only question here, of course, is whether or not Trump will still be President when Season 7 premieres later this year.

Have you seen the latest Donald Trump impeachment odds? They grow stronger every day.

American Horry Story, meanwhile, received a rare two-season renewal a few weeks ago, taking it through season 9.

At the time, FX CEO John Landgraf said viewers wouldn’t know anything about season 7 until its premiere, much like they did when it came to Season 6.

“It actually will be shrouded in super secrecy,” he said at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in January.

“Ryan has yet another really innovative idea for how to do something fresh and different with the franchise that audiences haven’t seen before, and there’s a marketing promotional hook around that.”

We can’t wait to see how the election is tackled by Murphy and company.

Until then, we’re totally gonna go back and watch American Horror Story online to see if we can pick up on any clues from past seasons that may inform what we can expect to see this season.

Game of Thrones Season 6 to Premiere On...

Game of Thrones Season 6 is coming.

We’ve known this for a very long time, of course, but now HBO has revealed the exact date on which fans will be taken back to Westeros.

So you better circle your calendar and set your DVR for Sunday, April 24 at 9/8c.

This is when Game of Thrones Season 6 will premiere.

HBO also confirmed during its panel at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour today that the smash hit drama will once again be paired with comedies Veep and Silicon Valley.

The latter‘s third season and the former’s fifth season will also debut that night, at 10 p.m. and 10:30 pm, respectively.

Very little is known about Game of Thrones Season 6, although author George R.R. Martin came out this week and said the book on which it is based will not be completed in time for new episodes.

As loyal readers and viewers know, however, the series veered away from Martin’s source material pretty heavily over the last couple seasons anyway.

The main question heading into Season 6 is whether Jon Snow is truly dead or not (SPOILER ALERT that we are just assuming: there ain’t no way, people!).

One of the only true heroes of the series was seemingly stabbed to death by his colleagues as Castle Black to close out Game of Thrones Season 5.

We also know that Bran Stark, who sat out all of Season 5, will return for Season 6.

What storyline are you most excited about for this spring?
