Bruce Paddock: Las Vegas Shooter"s Brother Arrested For Child Porn
Bruce Paddock, brother of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, has reportedly been arrested for possession of child pornography.
TMZ is reporting that Paddock was taken into custody in North Hollywood, CA early this morning.
Authorities say the arrest is the result of a months-long investigation that began long before Stephen Paddock carried out the deadliest mass shooting in US history on October 1.
Sources say police had been unsuccessfully attempting to locate Bruce for months.
After the shooting, police reportedly received a tip that the 58-year-old was residing in an assisted living facility in California.
Paddock was apparently awaiting surgery for spinal stenosis at the time of his arrest.
According to a felony complaint, in 2014 Paddock was in possession of 600 sexually explicit photos of minors.
Paddock reportedly faces 19 counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of possession of child pornography.
Strangely, Bruce spoke to the press seemingly without hesitation following news that his brother had murdered 58 concertgoers and injured 546 others.
“I don’t know how he could stoop to this low point, hurting someone else. It wasn’t suicide by cop since he killed himself,” he said at the time.
“He killed a bunch of people and then killed himself so he didn’t have to face whatever it was.”
It was Bruce who revealed that that he and Stephen’s father had been a bank robber who was hunted by the FBI.
Shortly after the shooting, Bruce stated that he was “annoyed” that his brother’s crimes had brought new attention to some of his past misdeeds, including a vandalism charge for which he was sentenced to community service that he never carried out.
“I’m not proud of it,” he said. “But I never went to prison.”
Bruce also told the media that in the months leading up to the shooting, he had attempted to reconcile with his estranged brothers and mother, but was unable to do so.
I want to see if we could patch up what we destroyed so many years ago,” he said.
He added that he had only succeeded in locating his mother, “and she’s yelling at me all the time not to talk to anyone.”
We’ll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.

Eric Paddock: Brother of Las Vegas Shooter Rambles Emotionally During Interview
The death count for the horrific Las Vegas shooting is up to 59, with injuries totaling 527. It is the worst mass shooting to take place in America during the last century, and we"re all sill reeling from it.
Aside from the victims and their families, no one could be more deeply affected than the family of the shooter, Stephen Paddock.
His brother, Eric, has now given a second, bewildered interview. He rambles, he cries, and generally demonstrates that the worst week of your life is also the worst time to give an interview.
The level-headed decision for someone of means to do when they find themselves in Eric Paddock"s situation is to hire a short-term representative, be it an attorney or even just a well-spoken family friend.
When you are distraught, any statements should be made in writing until you"re confident that you can give a solid interview and stay on topic.
Unfortunately, it"s difficult if not impossible to make level-headed decisions when your entire world has just been rocked.
What we know about Stephen Paddock is still limited, but though he fits parts of the profile of mass shooters — he"s a white male — it"s not immediately apparent what motivated his shooting.
In one of Eric"s more erratic statements in the video below, he says:
"When Steve can do this, we"re just in deep s–t. Because there"s just nothing there."
What he means, of course, is that this came out of nowhere without any obvious warning signs.
We"d be quick to point out, as others have, that Stephen Paddock wasn"t a "nice guy" who suddenly snapped.
A barista recognized him immediately because he would berate and publicly humiliate his live-in girlfriend when they"d come in.
(He would reportedly shame her for asking if he was getting her drink by reminding her that he pays for everything in her life)
It was apparently such a standard part of his behavior that employees dreaded seeing him with her.
Stephen Paddock may have not have had as many red flags as we usually expect, but he was a man who publicly berated his girlfriend and stockpiled weapons.
That"s not out of nowhere.
Contrary to what some people seem to think, however, it"s understandable that Eric didn"t see the potential for this in his own brother.
For one thing, Eric Paddock lives on the East Coast, while Stephen reveled in Vegas.
Eric speaks at length in the longer interview about trying to make time for his own son to see his Uncle Steve from time to time but not always getting the chance.
(When he would visit, Eric says that Steve was extremely generous, though often his generosity was on the dime of hotels at which he gambled)
But the biggest reason is that Stephen Paddock almost certainly hid everything from his family.
He probably didn"t humiliate his girlfriend in front of his family. He sounds like the kind of guy who wanted to show off his lifestyle to family.
Eric says that it was thanks to Stephen that their mother lives comfortably in her retirement.
He talks about how their father was terrible (their father was, in fact, FBI Most Wanted List levels of terrible) and left their mother to raise four children on a secretary"s salary.
He talks about Stephen"s wealth, his hopes that this can all be explained away by a brain tumor (not likely), and his general shock and dismay.
Unfortunately, Eric says none of these things particularly well.
His mood seems to shift, but this is the result of being in a state of shock and grief and having a bunch of people asking him questions for a half hour.
Eric does convey his deepest sympathies for Stephen"s victims, but he"s just as much at a loss to explain it — if not more — than we are.
"My heart is torn, is destroyed for all of these people. But I can"t tell you why Steve did what he did."
Here are some of his less coherent moments from the full interview:

Stephen Paddock: Las Vegas Shooter Identified
This morning, millions awoke to the shocking news that a gunman had taken the lives of 50 civilians and wounded as many as 200 more in Las Vegas.
The terrorist attack, which is now the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, took place at a country music concert while singer Jason Aldean was performing.
Police have identified the shooter as 64-year-old Mesquite, Nevada resident Stephen Paddock.
Paddock, shown above with his “companion,” Marilou Dannley, is believed to have begun his attack at approximately 10:00 pm local time.
He was killed by police in his room at the Mandalay Bay hotel shortly after the attack.
Police were reportedly able to locate Paddock quickly due to the smoke from his weapon setting off hotel fire detectors.
Paddock’s motives for the shooting remain unclear.
Early reports indicate that he was not a member of any militant group, and was not known to hold any extremist political or religious beliefs.
Dannley, who lived with Paddock in Mesquite, was apprehended for questioning at 3:40 this morning.
Police have described her as a “person of interest.”
It is not currently known if she’s being treated as an accomplice in the attack.
Several guns, including at least 8 rifles, were found in the room rented by Paddock and Dannley.
“We have no idea what his belief system was,” Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said during a press briefing.
“Right now, we believe he was the sole aggressor, and the scene is static.”
With 50 dead and more than 400 reported injured by local hospitals, the killing spree surpasses the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting as the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
Several media outlets have reported that this is America’s 273rd mass shooting in 2017, and it took place on the 273rd day of the year, meaning, of course, that the United States now averages one mass shooting per year.
Our thoughts go out to the loved ones of those killed and wounded in this tragic and infurating attack.
We will have further updates on this story as more information becomes available.
Stephen Paddock Doesn"t Fit Mass Shooter Profile
