All is not well between the Duchess of Cambridge’s parents and the royals.
Apparently Catherine’s mother, Carole Middleton is trying to hoard precious time with her grandchildren, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and Prince Charles is P-I-S-S-E-D.
“Kate Middleton’s mom and Prince William’s dad go head-to-head in a bizarre battle over their grandchildren,” Life & Style‘s headline screams.
“Though the royals seem to have a fairy-tale life, behind the scenes a war has broken out between the Middleton family and William’s parents,” the story reads, pointing out that Carole “has bonded intensely with her grandchildren, and it’s left William’s dad, Prince Charles, feeling jealous.”
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, for one, “has always felt that Carole has spent years climbing the social ladder and building a name for her family,” a source told the tabloid.
To get back at Carole, Camilla and Charles have allegedly excluded them from royal events.
Wanting to stay away from the “drama,” William asked his wife to step in and speak to Carole.
“With hurt feelings on both sides, an estrangement is growing — and Kate is caught in the middle,” the source added.
“Everyone hopes they can put this rift behind them for the sake of the kids.”
While Carole has reportedly babysat her two grandchildren on more than one occasion (when William and Catherine go on royal tours, for instance), a story about how her relationships with George and Charlotte has caused turmoil with the royal family is likely a load of crap.
The Middletons appear to enjoy a nice relationship with William’s family. Case-in-point, they have been invited to Christmas Church service the past two years, an unprecedented move seeing that no other royal in-law’s family has ever been asked.
Every couple with children struggles to allow both sides of their families to spend enough time with the grandkids, and William and Catherine’s situation is no different.
Without even emailing Kensington Palace for a comment, I can safely confirm that this report is false.
