13 Reality TV Lies People Somehow Believe

Think what you"ve been watching on reality TV is 100 percent real? Okay, we really hope not at this point, but if so … think again!

In all seriousness, most TV is scripted and edited to a degree, but you"ll be shocked at just how contrived many hit programs are.

Behold, 13 of the biggest lies in reality TV:

13. Storage Wars’ wars are more like set-up arguments

Yuuuuup, Dave Hester basically blew the lid off this one, suing A&E and alleging that the network plants material inside a storage unit the teams bid on, for story purposes, and makes sure everyone is flush with cash to do the bidding. They settled out of court without ever denying any of this.

12. Hardcore pawn is pretty hard to believe

Hardcore pawn is pretty hard to believe

Hardcore Pawn has somehow been on TV for more than nine seasons featuring the likes of over-the-top customers getting into brawls with pawn shop owners in the Detroit area … where these altercations are completely scripted and staged beyond comprehension. Seriously, this is beyond ridiculous.

11. The Duck Dynasty beards are real

The duck dynasty stars without beards

They’re not fake beards in the sense that they’re literally from the costume department, but Duck Dynasty has become a huge hit for A&E in part because the portrayal of the Robertson family as a Bible-believing, uncultured group of wealthy rednecks is … exaggerated dramatically. Prior to the show, they looked like anybody else, and their silly antics are staged ahead of time. Jase is still the f–king man though.

10. The youngans Breaking Amish already broke Amish

Breaking amish girls

Breaking Amish promises to take you inside the experiences of Amish youth leaving their farms for the first time and seeing what life in Manhattan is like. Will they stay? Will they return? In truth, the kids had already left Amish life behind – for good – by the time the cameras got involved and are reenacting it all for your entertainment.

9. Bear Grylls is actually semi-hard

To be sure, we would not f–k with Bear Grylls. But the British military veteran known for being dropped into harsh “Man vs. Wild” landscapes and surviving on his own occasionally stays in hotels overnight and receives help from his crew.

8. American I-don’t know if these personal bios are true or not

Jermaine jones on american idol

Relying extensively on sob stories in addition to vocal talent is a calling card for singing competition shows, but American Idol and Jermaine Jones took this to a ridiculous extreme when he claimed his dad abandoned him as a child … and his dad objected, and the show booted Jones out as the controversy intensified.

Brandi Glanville Posts Photo of Butt, Gives Shout-Out to "Moms Everywhere"

Lately, Brandi Glanville has been all about the drama.

Maybe it’s because she’s had a lot of time on her hands since getting fired from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Or maybe she really just thinks Lisa Vanderpump is a c–t. Whatever the case we’re happy to see her get back to something everyone can enjoy:

Yes, the Internet’s all about asses these days, and Brandi is jumping on the bandwagon with a seriously impressive butt selfie.

We knew Ms. Glanville was in shape, but we had no idea she looked that good from the back.

Looks like there may be something to her “pent-up rage and gallons of booze” diet after all.

Brandi captioned the photo with a curious shout-out to moms all over the world:

“Thinking of bringing the one piece back for me and all moms everywhere not that I don’t love my Brazilians #americanapparel #70svibe #messy-closet”

That’s nice and all, but 1.Tthere are millions of moms who will be proudly rocking two-pieces this beach season, and 2. You can just post a pic and say, “Look how good my ass looks,” Brandi. Not everything needs to be a statement of solidarity.

Interestingly, Brandi also indicated that she’s been spending time with Dean Sheremet, who’s been having some trouble with Brandi’s longtime foe, LeAnn Rimes.

As you may recall, Dean and Brandi were the ones left in the dust when their spouses  – LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian – decided to have an affair.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall during one of those sh-t-talking sessions.

Kris Jenner: I Will STOP Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna"s Wedding!!!

A mysterious ring has started a panic equal to that of an epidemic.

Blac Chyna showed off a big diamond ring via Snapchat from her holiday in Turks and Caicos, sending social media into an absolute tizzy over whether she and Rob Kardashian are engaged.

One person not pysched about the (probably untrue) news?  Kris Jenner, who is reportedly working to “put a stop” to whatever wedding those two lovebirds have planned.

“If Rob and Black Chyna plan on getting married, Kris will put an immediate stop to it,” a source reportedly told Hollywood Life on February 10th.

“There is no way that Kris is going to let her son get married to Blac Chyna or anyone right now.”

A fair point, especially given Kardashian’s fragile state.  In late December, the recluse was diagnosed with Diabetes, the result of major weight gain and unhealthy living over a two-year period.

“While she is glad to see that Rob is out and about more than usual, she doesn’t 100% trust Blac’s real motives,” the source added.

“Kris fears her son is too vulnerable to make such a lifetime decision, and that it would be coming from a place of impulse.”

Tldr; Kris Jenner emerges as the voice of reason.

Beyonce, Allegedly Racist Halftime Act to Be Protested in NYC

Red Lobster may be very happy with Beyonce because the chain says it has seen sales spike as a result of Beyonce singing about where she takes a lover that pleases her in bed.

But not everyone shares in this ongoing love affair with the superstar solo artist.

In fact, a full day’s worth of protests AGAINST Beyonce are planned for Tuesday outside of the NFL’s New York City headquarters.

The rally is being organized by an unnamed host who says in his or her promotion that Beyonce’s halftime performance was a “race-baiting stunt” and a “slap in the face to law enforcement.”

Reads the event’s official website, in a plea to like-minded critics of Queen Bey:

“Come and let’s stand together. Let’s tell the NFL we don’t want hate speech & racism at the Superbowl ever again!”

Beyonce released the music video for “Formation” the day before the Suepr Bowl.

The controversial footage takes on issues such the post-Hurricane Katrina response in New Orleans, police brutality and black womanhood in general.

She followed up this video by dressing like a member of the Black Panthers alongside a group of backup dancers, prompting ex-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to say the following on Fox News:

“I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers, who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive.

“What we should be doing in the African-American community, and all communities, is build up respect for police officers.”

However, Kevin Allred – an adjunct lecturer at Rutgers University who actually teaches a class on the politics of Beyonce – tells The Huffington Post that this line of criticism is terrible off base.

“I do think it’s a hateful action and a very privileged one,” Allred said of the anti-Beyonce protest, explaining:

“It’s people who aren’t thinking critically. They’re getting mad at her calling out an injustice rather than being mad at the injustice itself.”
