Joan Rivers Wrongful Death Suit Settled, Melissa Rivers Ready to Move Forward

Melissa Rivers got a bit of closure today.

While nothing could replace her mother, the comedic legend Joan Rivers, Melissa announced that the multimillion dollar malpractice lawsuit she brought against Yorkville Endoscopy has been settled.

Melissa filed the suit against the facility, which she claimed was negligent in caring for her mother during a minor throat surgery to treat acid reflux.

In a statement given to Us Weekly, Melissa wrote the following:

“In accepting this settlement, I am able to put the legal aspects of my mother’s death behind me and ensure that those culpable for her death have accepted responsibility for their actions quickly and without equivocation. 

“Moving forward, my focus will be to ensure that no one ever has to go through what my mother, [my son] Cooper and I went through and I will work towards ensuring higher safety standards in out-patient surgical clinics.

“I want to express my personal gratitude to my legal team for their wise counsel and prompt resolution of this case.”

The late Fashion Police host went into the outpatient clinic in 2014 to have the surgery, but died from complications several days later.

Melissa alleged the center was guilty of gross medical malpractice when they failed to perform an emergency tracheotomy on her mother after she stopped breathing.

The doctors also waited several minutes before calling 911 – a move that may have cost the star her life.

Adding insult to injury, one of the physicians treating Joan also snapped a selfie with the comic as she lay unconscious on the operating table.

The amount of the settlement was not disclosed.

“We have agreed to keep the terms of the settlement confidential to make certain that the focus of this horrific incident remains on improved patient care and the legacy of Joan Rivers,” stated Melissa’s legal team.

While Kylie hasn’t spoken publicly about the breakup, Tyga spoke to E! News today.

“I’m good, you know? Just another day and working hard and trying to get to that next level and achieve big things and evolve.”

Tyga was in New York City, promoting an upcoming clothing line with designer Marcelo Burlon.

Sources close to the couple said the breakup came just before the Met Gala on May 1.

While both Kylie and Tyga attended the affair, they were not there together.

In fact, Kylie was said to be pissed that Tyga actually showed up, as he only received an invitation in the first place because of his relationship with her.

Then but a week later on Mother’s Day, the rapper took his mama and an unnamed model out to lunch. Tyga, however, did not acknowledge the nature of his relationship with the model.

Just two days before the Met Ball, Kylie hinted at the breakup when she took to Snapchat and asked fans if she could just date her dog.

Not exactly something one says when they’re in a happy relationship.

Then earlier this week, Kylie’s mom Kris Jenner all but gave it away when she paid tribute to her daughters’ significant others on Instagram, and not-so-subtly omitted Tyga.

The source told E! that the split was “a long time coming,” while a second source said that “their relationship is complicated.”

Sharon Osbourne: How She Found Out About Ozzy"s Affair!

By now, you’ve probably heard that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have split up after 33 years of marriage.

Sharon confirmed the rumors on The Talk earlier this week, acknowledging that yes, she kicked Ozzy out, and yes, he cheated.

And how did she find out?

Simple. She checked his e-mail.

“Sharon found out about the affair by searching through Ozzy’s emails,” a source tells Us Weekly. 

Ozzy was reportedly cheating with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh, who was fired from the salon she worked at after the affair became known.

But it might not have been such a financial hardship for Pugh, because Ozzy was supporting her, according to the source.

“[Sharon] was upset that he was supporting this woman!” the insider continues. 

“She and [daughter] Kelly both called the salon repeatedly for about two weeks before the news broke, trying to get in touch with Michelle,” adds the source.

“They were really angry. Sharon is the reason Michelle was let go.”

While many celebrities prefer to keep their breakups and relationship drama private, Sharon seems to be reveling in raking Ozzy through the coals.

After taking the day off from her hosting duties at The Talk on Monday, she returned to the roundtable on Tuesday sipping on a tall drink of the elixir now feared by cheaters everywhere:
