Shahs of Sunset Season 5 Episode 9 Recap: Can You Fake Chemo?

Last night on Shahs of Sunset Season 5 Episode 9, the drama was off the hook at Asa’s fashion show … and with Mike and Jessica.

What else is new with those two, right?

GG on SHAHS

If you watch Shahs of Sunset online, you’re more than caught up on the drama with these two – and their associates – on the regular.

Still, things went to the next level here.

Shahs of Sunset Season 5 Episode 9, entitled “Lights, Camera, Kaftans!” ostensibly focused on Asa Soltan Rahmati’s kaftan fashion show.

Of course, there’s always a subplot.

When Reza Farahan saw Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi at the show, his reaction was “She doesn’t look like someone about to get chemo.”

And there’s your gossip/conflict.

“No one can confirm anything,” Reza adds, rolling his eyes and then dispensing with any pleasantries. “I doubt her story more than ever.”

Later, he took it to her a bit.

“We’re very concerned about you … what’s going on?” Reza asks, perhaps (definitely) baiting her, to which she replies, “With what?”

GG did go on to explain later what’s going on. “They say it’s very aggressive and ‘you have to do the intravenous chemo,’” she says.

As she told the others, including her brother Shervin Roohparvar, that “it’s two hours once a month,” Reza up and walked out of the room.

“I think Golnesa is lying about having RA (rheumatoid arthritis),” he reiterated as Shervin’s jaw hit the floor upon hearing such a thing.

“Why would someone do something like that?” Shervin asks, but later admits that “Reza brings up some really good points” re: GG.

Specifically, if her condition is so bad, why is she still doing her thing – her thing being drinking, smoking and clubbing until all hours?

“Maybe she’s exaggerating a little bit,” Shervin suggests, raising the question of whether one can really exaggerate something like chemo.

On reality TV these days, with the characters that are on this show and the lengths producers will go to in order to concoct a good story?

We wouldn’t be surprised. The Real Housewives of Orange County and Beverly Hills have both played the possibly-fake disease card.

Just saying. It’s a Bravo thang.

Sister Wives Season 7 Episode 7 Recap: Can Meri Make Amends?

On Sister Wives Season 7 Episode 7, the Brown family prepared for a trip to Hawaii. With that many people, you can imagine the challenges.

Meanwhile, Meri Brown sought to make amends.

Ariella Mae, the latest addition to the Brown Family, was a mere two and a half months at the time of the Browns’ big Hawaii adventure.

Is she a bit too young to be traveling? Perhaps, but that’s just how the Browns roll – particularly when the network is footing the airfare.

Later, Kody was called out regarding the distinctive relationships he has with his sons and daughters, which his wives have mentioned.

Does he treat his daughters very differently than he treats his sons, and is it to the detriment of either? Kody had to answer that one.

While he is far from perfect – and his living situation is one that none of us can relate to – Kody really does seem like he tries to adapt.

Once he heard criticism about not taking his relationships with his girls to the peak level, he really thought about it and wanted to do better.

As for his relationships with his wives, and treating all of them equally (not only banging Robyn), that’s perhaps even more challenging.

Especially with Kody in search of a fifth wife, it’s a complicated situation that promises to become more and more so as time passes.

Meanwhile, Meri and Janelle clashed in therapy, with the former not exactly what you’d call optimistic about two women bonding on vacay.

“I have no idea what we could do in Hawaii,” Meri says. “Maybe we could go to the beach and build a sand castle together. I don’t know.”

For those unaware, Meri’s feud with Janelle predates the whole Sister Wives catfish scandal (though that did not help), and by a lot.

Janelle left her husband to be with Kody and join the family, which would be eyebrow-raising on its own, but the man is Meri’s brother.

As Janelle wrote in Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage: “Meri and I went from cordial to frosty overnight.”

“We snipped at each other over the smallest things.”

Has much changed? Will it ever? Stay tuned.

Later, on Sister Wives Season 7 Episode 8, we got a behind the scenes look at Kody Brown, the man, the myth, the polygamous legend.

Tony Awards: 12 Moments to Remember in 2016

The 2016 Tony Awards took place in the tragic shadow of an inexplicable shooting in Orlando.

As previously reported, 50 people were killed inside a gay nightclub by Omar Mateen, a terrorist responsible for the biggest gun-based massacre in U.S. history.

Host James Corden acknowledged the heinous act prior to the event, as did a number of winners and presenters.

But the show did have to go on, with its participants hoping to lift the spirits of viewers and provide a few examples of light after such a dark, dark incident.

Let"s take a look at the most memorable moments from the event…

1. Host with the Most

Host with the most

Corden struck the perfect tone in his monologue… and then opened the Tonys with a dance number that referenced Les Miserables, The Sound of Music, Sweeney Todd and pretty much everything in between.

2. A Sonnet for the Shooters

Upon accepting his first award of many for Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda delivered an original sonnet that honored his wife and then the victims of this shooting.

3. The Book of Moron

Andrew Rannells as Donald Trump. What else is there to say, right? Talk about a perfect parody.

4. Give Them an A!

A dozen young musical prodigies took to the stage for the first performance of the night, which honored the source material of the 2003 Jack Black film School of Rock. Show star Alex Brightman was incredible.

5. Winners!

We all knew Miranda would win. We all knew Hamilton would win. But we stood up and cheered when Renee Elise Goldsberry and Daveed Diggs also took home trophies for their role in this iconic musical.

6. Father Knows Best

Father knows best

Yup, those are Corden’s parents. And, yes, the comedian’s dad really did tell his son on air that the show was “running a little long.” HA!
