Melania Trump RNC Speech: Ganked from Michelle Obama?

The Republican National Convention kicked off from Cleveland on Monday night.

And it didn"t take long for this Donald Trump lovefest to generate its first scandal.

From Willie Robertson or Scott Baio? Not really, even though the #NeverTrump crowd likely was not a fan of anything these "celebrities" had to say.

Rather, the first scandal of the week came courtesy of The Donald"s wife, Melania Trump.

"From a young age my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise; that you treat people with respect," Melania said on stage.

"They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily life."

Sounds great and inspiring, right?

The sort of thing a First Lady-to-be would say in such a circumstance?

Melania went on to add:

"That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son, and we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow.

"Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them."

Again, good stuff.

But plagiarized stuff?

Critics were quick to note similarities between Trump"s speech here and Michelle Obama"s 2008 speech at the Democratic National Convention.

Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you"re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don"t know them, and even if you don"t agree with them, Obama said eight years ago.

She continued at the time:

And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and pass them on to the next generation.

Because we want our children – and all children in this nation – to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.

Speaking to Matt Lauer on MSNBC prior to the event, Melania said of her upcoming speech:

"I read once over it and that"s all. Because I wrote it with as little help as possible. I"m excited."

This is what Donald Trump said about his wife"s speech on Monday night and what he said in 2008 about that of Michelle Obama:

Was Melania subconsciously influenced by Obama? Did she outright gank her material?

Listen and watch the speech below and decide for yourself.

The Bachelorette Recap: A Place Called Hope Higginbotham

On The Bachelorette Season 12 Episode 8, JoJo Fletcher went on hometown dates across the nation with her four remaining bachelors.

Who survived this week? Were The Bachelorette spoilers accurate?

We’ll get to the elimination shortly, but let’s start from the top:

Kicking off The Bachelorette Season 12 Episode 8, JoJo’s first of four hometown dates was with Chase McNary in beautiful Colorado.

That went well, although all eyes were on the next date.

In Chico, California, she met Jordan Rodgers’ family … after swooning over the controversial frontrunner all season long, of course.

As for the topic we’ve all been talking about – Jordan’s estranged relationship with Aaron Rodgers – JoJo carefully broached the subject.

And he carefully tried to shut it down.

“It won’t come up. It doesn’t need to be a topic,” he said, although the hilarious shot of two empty chairs at the dinner table said otherwise.

Jordan and Aaron Rodgers’ brother Luke didn’t say much, but did divulge, “It’s something we don’t really like to talk about a whole lot.”

“It pains both of us like, not to have that relationship [with Aaron] – we miss our brother. I trust that God brings things full circle,” he added.

Again, we have zero idea what’s going on.

One thing that is clear is that JoJo was still smitten. “[Jordan] is nobody’s brother,” she said. “He is a man that I am falling in love with.”

Goodness, this is going to end so badly.

Next up for JoJo was St. Augustine, Florida, for her hometown date with Robby Hayes and his never-ending supply of pink clothing.

We’re just saying, it’s a little bit unusual.

JoJo loves that Robby is in touch with his emotions, but when you awkwardly tell someone you love her 27 times, is that being emotional?

Or unstable and desperate? Just asking.

Anyway, things got weird, and dramatic, when she brought up her hesitations regarding Hayes’ infamous ex-girlfriend, Hope Higginbotham.

Yes, the one now dating Chad Johnson.

Robby and Hope dated for four years, we’re told, and he broke up with her just before going on the show; JoJo was rightfully concerned.

Strangely, we then saw this scene featuring Robby’s mom, who took him aside to inform him that his ex’s roommate was stirring up s–t:

Naturally, Robby freaked that Hope’s roommate was planting such stories in the press, so he needed to talk to JoJo about this immediately.

Pressed about the timeline regarding his appearance on the show, and the end of his romance with Hope Higginbotham, he actually said:

“I will tell you right now that’s not true by any means. My relationship with Hope, who is my ex, was over nine months before it actually ended.”

Guy should go into politics with an answer like that.

He explained: “It’s something that I didn’t have the capacity to end it when it should have because I thought changes were going to be made.”

“And I tried to give her benefit of the doubt,” he added, but “I ended it at the end of December, we had a blowup fight and she slapped me.”

Hoooookay then. This sounds 100 percent normal.

Ultimately, despite the inordinate amount of time spent on Robby’s ex, and apparent emotional instability, this all ended rather smoothly.

JoJo’s falling in love with him, she says. Sigh.

Finally, JoJo traveled to Texas for her hometown date with Luke Pell, who seemed like the odd man out heading into the rose ceremony.

Was he, though? Or was a big twist yet to come?

The big elimination was set to go down in airport hangar, with a jet ready to whisk JoJo and the remaining guys on to the next date.

The stakes were high, but Fletcher was resolute.

“I think I need to say goodbye to Luke,” she revealed … until Luke interrupted the start of the ceremony and asked if they could step outside!

What a truly unprecedented, dramatic interlude.

That’s when he finally revealed that he’s in love with her! OMG! No doubt “this changes things,” said Fletcher to the camera, in tears.

TO BE CONTINUED … likely with Luke’s inevitable elimination anyway, within the opening minutes of next week’s episode, but hey.

The Bachelorette‘s contrived cliffhangers are so epic.

The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 11 Episode 4 Recap: Divine Intervention

Vicki was on the warpath again last night on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 11 Episode 4, with Shannon in her crosshairs.

If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online, you know that’s been theme of the season so far on the Bravo flagship:

Can Vicki regain her place in the ladies’ good graces?

Does she want that? Do they? What’s her endgame?

Well, the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 11 Episode 4 picked up at the beach party where the previous installment left off.

Vicki Gunvalson’s excuses for the Brooks Ayers cancer drama were front and center, with her goal of talking to each of the wives individually.

Target number one? Shannon Beador.

“You guys were right, and I was wrong,” Vicki said, though the skeptical Shannon said Ayers was lying about his cancer from the start.

How could Vicki not know?

Not unlike her conversations with Heather Dubrow and Tamra Barney, Vicki failed to gain much closure, and ended up in tears. So it goes.

Shannon says she doesn’t think the two could be friends again; Meghan King Edmonds, conversely, has plenty of friends to go around.

Heather Dubrow and Kelly Dodd, who both had kids via IVF, helped Meghan with the shots she has to take in order to begin the process.

When Vicki asked Brooks critic Meghan King Edmonds if they could be friends again, however, she replied that they were never friends.

Kelly felt bad for her after awhile, saying:

“I’ve been ganged up [on] by girls many times in my life, and when I see someone doing that to somebody else, I want to protect that person!”

The real crazy part of this episode, however, involved Tamra Barney’s adult son Ryan Vieth, who was once engaged to Sarah Rodriguez.

Tamra was on his case to make things right with her, as she’s the mother of his child, and for Ryan, this has been an ongoing dilemma.

Meanwhile, Vicki pulled over at a gas station to call 911 when she realized she couldn’t drive daughter Briana to the hospital fast enough.

Who did she run into there? Sarah Rodriguez!

Sarah, naturally, offered to go to Vicki’s place to watch Briana’s kids at the same time Vicki was texting Tamra about what was going on.

Tamra insisted that it was divine intervention that landed Sarah in Vicki’s path that day she was helping Briana with her difficulty breathing.

(It was later revealed that Briana’s lymph nodes were swollen so much they were pushing on her lungs, causing her problems breathing.)

When Tamra asked Sarah if she would get back together with Ryan, the latter responded that he was the one making that so challenging.

The two subplots here are that Tamra and Vicki are on good terms again – or at least called a true over this whole incident – and this:

Why is Briana even in California? Did Vicki force her to move away from her husband, Ryan, who was still stationed by the Army in Oklahoma?

Tamra and Shannon gossiped that perhaps promising her a free house and around the clock help with her medical care did the trick.

Shannon then said she planned on inviting Vicki to her upcoming party via email, while still making it clear he did not want a friendship.

Tamra chastised her friend for that “passive-aggressive” and “back-handed” idea and suggested she forgive and forget with Gunvalson.

Whoa there. That’s too level-headed for Bravo.
