Fort Myers Nightclub Shooting Leaves 2 Dead, Many Wounded

A shooting at a nightclub in Fort Myers, Florida has taken the lives of at least two people.

According to various news outlets, a minimum of 16 other patrons were wounded in the attack.

The New York Times has confirmed that authorities responded to the incident at Club Blu around 12:30 a.m.

Once they arrived on the scene, police found several victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The club was reportedly hosting a “swimsuit glow party” indoors with live performances on Sunday night when the tragedy took place.

“[At] this time, the scene is still very active as investigators and crime scene personnel attempt to determine what had occurred,” Captain Jim Mulligan of the Fort Myers Police Department said in a statement.

“The Police Department is attempting to determine a motive for this incident.”

About an hour after police cars and ambulances arrived at the club, many of those injured were taken Lee Memorial Health System for treatment.

The victims ranged from 12 to 27 years old because the party was actually aimed at a young demographic.

“Sixteen people were treated in the trauma center and emergency department,” Cheryl Garn, a hospital spokesperson, told the aforementioned newspaper.

Club Blu bills itself as a New Orleans-style restaurant and lounge, according to its Facebook page.

“We are deeply sorry for all involved. We tried to give the teens WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A SAFE PLACE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. Ages 12-17,” the establishment has said via statement.

“There was armed security as well as full security, inside and out.

“As the club was closing and parents were picking their children up…..that’s when all this took place. There was nothing more we could of done [as] you see it was not kids at the party that did this despicable act.”

Authorities have detained three adults in relation to the shooting.

However, the motive for the shooting remains unclear.

“It was chaos. I saw a bunch of people running across the street,” nearby resident Jermaine Wilson told CNN. “It’s incredible that this can happen at a teenage [event].”

This tragedy comes a mere six weeks after gunman Omar Seddique Mateen killed 49 people and injured 53 others at gay nightclub Pulse in Orland on Junoe 12.

The incident was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

But of course, it’s much more likely that this latest round of abuse from random strangers on social media is just as nightmarish as all the others.

Leah went swimming in an above-ground pool that appears to be in a parking lot over the weekend, because West Virginia. (Just kidding, WV peeps!)

And it seems a lot of her social media followers feel that Leah is looking unhealthily gaunt these days:

“Jesus! eat a burger gf!” wrote one fan.

“Leah has always been thin, but she was a healthy thin,” another commented.

“This is just too thin especially with her bones sticking out in her chest.”

It’s true that Leah has always been thin, but she does seem to be skinnier than usual these days.

Of course, this is social media we’re talking about, so it wasn’t enough for fans to make that observation, they also had to follow it up with absurd conclusions.

Some believe that Leah’s drug problems are back.

Others speculated that criticism she received during the past season of TM2 coupled with the recent pressures of buying and moving into a new home are taking their toll on Leah.

Frankly, we have no idea, but we’re gonna go ahead and say it:

Leah looks just fine.

It’s the people clogging up her comment board with body-shaming hate that we’re really worried about!

Jenelle Evans: Internet Trolls Diagnose Son Kaiser With Autism

There are certain things that only trained professionals should determine.

A photo Jenelle Evans shared of her 2-year-old son, Kaiser prompted some Instagram followers to wonder if the toddler was on the autism spectrum.

The photo showed Kaiser lining up his trucks and scooters while watching TV, which his mom found adorable.

This morning with Kai 😍 love my early mornings with him,” she wrote.

“He has them [his toys] all lined up LOL.”

Followers saw this as an opportunity to diagnose the Teen Mom 2‘s son.

“I dong[sic] know if anyone has ever told you but this kind of behavior in young children often points to them being on the autism spectrum,” one busybody wrote.  “Not meant to be hate.”

Aaaand another: “I would be more worried that he can barely speak and he’s over two years!” 

Good news.  A professional stepped in to offer his or her expertise!

“This little boy is over 2 years old and sounds like a 12 month old with the one syllable utterances. He needs early intervention, period. (I am a speech therapist.) There are quite a few red flags with this child that any professional can see.”

Thankfully, other users thought this was a load of crap.

“All kids do that. Damn anything to criticize. Ever play with toy trains or cars, just one example,” one wrote.

“Leave that baby alone …he’s playing cars!” another chimed in.  “Not everything has to be related back to a disability. IG is not the place to try and diagnose other people’s kids with anything.”

And another: 

“Many children do this on their own, and are not anywhere near living with ASD. Some just see their parents put their toys away like that and mimic.”

Today’s lesson?  Don’t take it upon yourself to spread medicinal wisdom on the internet, no matter what you’ve heard on the 11th hour of the Today show.
