Ferris Wheel Tragedy: 3 Girls Fall From Ride, 1 In Critical Condition
A ferris wheel at the Green County Fair malfunctioned on August 8th, causing three riders to fall thirty feet.
The victims were three girls – two sisters, age 6 and 10, and a 16-year-old.
The six-year-old remains in critical condition after suffering traumatic brain injury from the fall.
Yesterday, Johnson City Medical Center"s director of trauma services Dr. Bracken Burns updated reporters on her status.
According to Dr. Bracken Burns, director of trauma services for Johnson City Medical Center, the youngest of the victims, a 6-year-old, suffered the head injury and had to be intubated at the scene and taken to a hospital.
"She has been under the continual care of the pediatric surgery service, the pediatric intensive care unit team as well as the neurosurgery team," Dr. Burns explained during a press conference.
The girl"s older sister sustained injuries to her forearm. The oldest victim"s condition has improved from critical to stable, though her family requested that further details not be released.
The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. local time, when police confirmed that the riders fell out of the car they were in when it flipped.
"One of the cars or baskets had overturned and three children had fallen out. They fell a distance of anywhere between 35 and 45 feet," Greenville police department captain Capt. Tim Davis told reporters, according to NPR.
One witness,Gregory Lynthacum spoke ABC News as well, recalling the horror he witnessed.
"I was hollering, "Please stop! Stop! Stop the machine!" It seemed like it was a millennium before it stopped," Lynthacum said.
"I"d seen blood coming from their mouth. I actually thought they were dead. It was so horrific."
Authorities have not yet figured out what caused the malfunction, but prior to the accident, the Greeneville Sun reported that the amusement company that owns the ferris wheel was fined for safety-related violations in North Carolina in 2013.
Family Attractions Amusement was accused of tampering with a ride"s "safety feature" after it malfunctioned, so that it would continue to run.
The accident occurred just one day after a 10-year-old Kansas boy was decapitated by a water slide.
Chad Johnson Apologizes to Sarah Herron, Hates On Nick Viall
Chad Johnson can only be described as a hurricane after his appearance on Bachelor in Paradise.
Most of the contestants were ecstatic to have Chad on the show. He was the ultimate villain on The Bachelorette, so they no doubt wanted to find out how he was in real life.
They all got a little bit more than they bargained for when Chad went crazy on the first episode of the season.
He got drunk and threatened to kill everyone on the show. What more did they expect?
This is Chad Johnson and he really has no filter when it comes to trashing people.
He even took his anger out on Chris Harrison, who booted him out of Bachelor in Paradise.
The most horrible thing Chad said, was to Sarah Herron.
He called her a “one-armed b—h.”
It was a horrible thing to say and it proved that Chad Johnson really is the worst.
Chad appeared on After Paradise on August 9, 2016, and had a lot to say about what went down in Mexico.
What was Chad’s excuse about his rampage on the set?
“To be honest, I drank a lot,” he revealed.
It was perfectly obvious he was drunk. His eyes were glazed.
Chad makes for great TV, but some things he said were just too far.
“I’m not trying to redeem myself,” he said after being asked if that was why he went to Paradise.
“I don’t care if people think I’m a good person or a bad person. That was not my whole plan. I’m not pulling a Nick Viall here and being like, I’m a good person now, please like me. I’m not trying to pawn teeth whitener on Instagram.”
With Chad, you really never know what mood you’ll get him in, but at least he appeared to be being genuine about his thoughts on the matter.
It wouldn’t have been Chad if he didn’t take a swipe at someone right after explaining himself.
Viewers were then treated to a Skype chat between Chad and Sarah, in which Chad apologized for his actions.
“I do want to clear it up. I obviously feel really bad,” he said. “That is—that is something she can’t control. A person with a disability. That is super messed up. But what happened and what was not aired is literally, she followed me around the entire day telling me what I could and could not say. People crowd around, I talk to them and make jokes and all of a sudden, she’s offended. I would be talking to a girl, she’d be 50 feet away listening—why is she listening in the first place, telling me what I can and can’t say?”
It does sound like Sarah was being a little short with him, but that still doesn’t make up for him criticizing her appearance.
“Look I am sorry,” he said.
“I should have absolutely never said that. I did not want to say anything like that…I know, the first seven, eight hours, I honestly didn’t even notice.”
Sarah was in a forgiving mood, but will she forget?
“I accept,” she told him.
“Thank you. I think that’s what I wanted, to hear it face to face, in person. You apologized on Twitter… but you know a lot of people who have my phone number and you didn’t do anything about it.”
What do you think about all of this?

Jill & Jessa Duggar Dropped From "Counting On" Show Title; Josh to Return in Season 2?!
With the news that TLC’s Jill & Jessa: Counting On is dropping the “Jill and Jessa” part of its name comes rumors of sweeping changes.
Among them? The return of the Duggar family pariah …
If Josh Duggar is returning to Counting On, as many suspect, his chorus of critics will surely be up in arms, asking the obvious question:
Why did TLC even cancel 19 Kids and Counting?
The Duggar family’s penchant for procreation was, and is, a crucial aspect of conversation – and life – on both iterations of the show.
Counting On will premiere at the end of August, sans Jill & Jessa in the name; Jill and Jessa’s roles in the coming season are unclear.
Jill and Derick Dillard’s return to Arkansas from their mission trip does signal that she will be available for additional filming, and press.
Still, it’s clear that the show is pivoting to a point.
A major focal point this season will be Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s engagement, and other siblings (Jana!) will play a big role, too.
All eyes are on one shadowy figure, though:
Rumors of Josh Duggar slowly being integrated back into the fold on the new season of Counting On have been surfacing for months.
In the wake of his molestation, pornography and affair scandals of the past year, this would certainly be a controversial move for TLC.
The network has offered no comment, and while the family has denied his return, they can only pretend he doesn’t exist for so long.
Last year, after advertisers threatened to pull out faster than Josh with Danica Dillon (sorry), the network canceled 19 Kids and Counting.
Soon enough, though, they floated a Josh-less trial balloon, and fans could watch Jill & Jessa Counting On online or on TV once more.
With the furor over Josh’s scandals dying down, is TLC quietly planning to add Josh back into the mix as it downplays Jill and Jessa?
If you think about it, this could be genius.
Not a full-scale reacclamation, but a brief appearance or two at first – enough to stoke some nice public outrage and generate headlines.
And ratings. Lots and lots of ratings.
Then, depending on just how freaked out advertisers get at the sight of this guy, they can decide how much further they want to push it.
This gives them options – enough of a chance to see how fans react, and wiggle room to scuttle his existence once again if need be.
Plus, Anna Duggar crying plays well with audiences. Really, how is this not a win-win for TLC and the disgraced child molester’s family.
What do you think, though?
Would Josh’s presence impact how you view the rest of the family? Would TLC be more or less likely to be “Counting On” you watching?
