The Voice Recap: Who Made It Through the Knockouts?

After fighting through the auditions and the battle rounds, the hopefuls made their way to the knockout rounds, and it sent the competition into overdrive.

The contestants continued to fight to make it to the live shows, but who was cut from the competition? Who did not make it all the way to the live sbows?

We have the full roundup of a solid episode of this NBC reality series.

Chris Blue and Quizz Swanigan

We already knew that Chris Blue and Quizz Swanigan were excellent singers and the first round of the knockouts showed that off. The pair sang “Superstitious” by Stevie Wonder, but it was evident Chris was the better singer.

Chris hit all of the notes flawlessly, while Quizz meandered his way to the finish line, so the results were not all that surprising.

Winner: Chris Blue

Steal Quizz Swanigan to Team Gwen

Autumn Turner and Hanna Eyre

Hanna went with “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis, and it was a delightful performance. Even though the song has been performed to death on singing competition series, there was still a lot to like about it.

Autumn went with Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” and found herself in a lot of trouble. Gwen branded it a terrible song choice and said that she should have chosen something else.

Ultimately, this became clear as day when the results came in.

Winner: Hanna Eyre

Hunter Plake and Johnny Gates

Hunter went with “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. It was solid, and the dude has the potential to become a huge star.

Johnny went with “Million Reasons” by Lady Gaga. Hunter was definitely better in his performance and managed to hit all of his notes without thinking about it.

Winner: Hunter Plake

Casi Joy and Felicia Temple

With the knockouts in full swing, Felicia came out guns blazing with a solid performance, but she never made it through to the next stage of the competition.

Casi turned in a solid performance, but it was evident Felicia had the edge, so it was surprising Casi eked out the victory.

Winner: Casi Joy

Johnny Hayes and Josh West

Josh went with an infectious rendition of “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas, while Johnny went with “Statesboro Blues” by Allman Brothers. Both performances were up there as the best of the night.

It did seem like Johnny had the edge, but the judges felt otherwise.

Winner: Josh West

Ashley Levin and Lilli Passero

Ashley went with “Fancy” by Bobbie Gentry, and Lilli went with “Tears Dry On Their Own” by Amy Winehouse. Ashley’s was somewhat memorable, while Lilli’s was not all that.

That did not mean that Ashley’s game was over.

Winner: Ashley Levin

Steal: Lilli Passero to Adam Levine

Aubrey Marunde and Bristol Marunde: Meet the Stars of Flip or Flop: Las Vegas!

Aubrey and Bristol Marunde hope to be the next Tarek and Christina El Moussa.

On the professional front, at least.

Tarek and Christina filed to divorce in December, of course, and have been making headlines over the past few weeks for their revealing Instagram photos and passive aggressive shots at one another.

But it’s easy to forget that they remain best known for their roles on Flip or Flop.

The estranged husband and wife are still filming episodes of the HGTV home renovation series, in fact, as they await to learn whether the network picks up the show for Season 8.

It seems unlikely.

However, executives are keen on expanding the franchise, having announced last month that FIVE Flip or Flop spinoffs are on tap, none of which will feautre the El Moussas.

Instead, new couples will follow Christina and Tarek’s lead by purchasing dilapidated homes across the country, fixing them up and trying to sell them for a profit.

The new shows will be based on Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Texas and Las Vegas.

Explained Allison Page (general manager, U.S. programming and development for HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel) in announcing this decision:

“Because every market is unique, there was an opportunity to highlight what works in various regions by featuring successful people in different locations who had mastered the art of flipping in their town.”

So… this brings us back to Aubrey Marunde and Bristol Marunde.

The couple will anchor Flip or Flop: Las Vegas, which is the first spinoff to receive an air date and which will premiere on Thursday, April 6 at 9/8c on HGTV.

What do we know about Aubrey and Bristol? Well…

  • Bristol is 34 years old and competes as a mixed martial artist.

  • The couple met in 2009 while watching an MMA fight in person with a group of friends.

  • They went for coffee on their first date.

  • And got married six years later in their backyard.

“We decided right then and there that we wanted to settle down and be together,” Bristol tells HGTV of how great that first date went.

They have a six-ear old son named Kale and a three-year old son named Kane.

“Kale is just like me and pretty amazing when it comes to colors,” Aubrey explains, adding:

“I handed him the huge paint swatch book yesterday and said, ‘I’m thinking light blue accent wall…’ He flipped through, and in about 30 seconds said, ‘This one.’

“It was the exact color I had picked from an online swatch book earlier in the day! It’s a pretty cool thing to see yourself shine through in your kids.”

Aubrey bought her first home at age 20.

They love animals.

“Bristol is always bringing something home for the kids from job sites,” Aubrey says. “Last week, it was a huge lizard in a drywall bucket he found, and before that, a baby bunny.”

The family has two dogs, two parakeets, two turtles, four chickens and two fish.

Neither is a Las Vegas native.

Aubrey moved to Sin City after high school from small town Milton, Pennsylvania; while Bristol grew up in Sequim, Washington.

“I always knew I would own my own business, and the challenges of starting from nothing and building your business was exciting for me,” Aubrey tells the network.

Will you give the new Flip or Flop a shot?

Will the fact that this version features another pretty blonde and another well-muscled brunette bode badly for the couple’s future?

We’ll soon find out!

Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Recap: War, Peace and Shade

On Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 6 Episode 5, the embattled Joseline Hernandez assembled her friends to ask them for a favor.

Not just any favor. An extremely important one.

Did this involve Stevie at all by any chance?

Come on. If you watch Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta online even a little bit, you know that Hit Man Steven Jordan is never far from drama.

We begin, though, with Yung Joc talking to his pals about his issues with Jasmine and her baby, and how she thinks it’s Kirk Frost’s.

Joc did bone Jasmine, but he used protection.

Kirk claims the same thing, though, but Joc mentions how the baby looks like him. These are the quandaries that happen on LHHA.

Mimi and Joseline meet up, meanwhile, and the former asks Joseline to be her VIP client and help spread the word about her shop.

Joseline candidly says she has no friends.

Mimi mentions Tommie’s name when talking about their mutual friends, or acquaintances, and Joseline tells her to watch her back basically.

At the same time, Joseline is trying to put together a video to unite the ladies; Melissa thinks that this is a horrible idea for a simple reason:

No one likes Joseline, who has no friends.

Tresure, meanwhile, meets up with Moriah and Lovely Mimi meet up to clear the air, until the topic turns to one of Joc’s baby mamas.

Always an uncomfortable topic, for real.

Kirk Frost, the baby daddy to end all baby daddies, sets out to talk to Rasheeda about their relationship, wanting to get back together.

Rasheeda seems to be way past that.

Melissa, Karlie and Tammy meet regarding Joseline’s music video for her song “Baby Daddy,” which none of them want anything to do with.

Karlie Redd says don’t get her wrong, she would be open to seeing the “new” Joseline and might reconsider. She just doesn’t see it, yet.

Rod, Jasmine and Keanna, the Stripper Sister Wives, look for an apartment when Keanna tells them Joc said he had sex with Jasmine.

Jasmine says that is simply false.

Rod wants to meet with Joc about it, though, so clearly there’s some tension there; Moriah, meanwhile, meets with Shooter on the DL.

Shooter is the married man she has been sleeping with … and basically soft-blackmailing into helping her out, so there’s that aspect.

Later, Jasmine tells Joc and Karlie that she’ll handle Kirk; Joc has no idea what that has to do with him; Rod tells him he is hearing rumors.

Jasmine asks Joc if he is telling people they f–ked; Joc hilariously dances around this, saying he was drunk and the girl’s name was Jasmine.

Can’t know for sure, you know?

When the sit-down turns to Karlie being told to delete the pictures of Jasmine’s son, she refuses and Jasmine lunges over the table at her.

Good times. While this was going on, Tresure invited Tommie to the spa, but that also turned into a fight faster than you can spell Tresure.

As the episode draws to a close, we see Joseline starting to put her music video together. Whether anyone cares to be involved is another story.

Melanie Brown Accuses Ex-Husband of Abuse, Forced Threesomes and Sex Tape Blackmail

As previously reported, Melanie Brown has filed for divorce from Stephen Belafonte.

What prompted the singer and reality show judge to split from her husband of nearly a decade?

Some allegedly awful behavior, according to a bombshell new report…

Brown’s attorneys were granted a restraining order for their client on Monday, with TMZ having obtained the documents that explain why Mel fears for both her life and the lives of her kids.

In her declaration, Mel B tells a truly heinous story of abuse.

Among her most sordid and scary allegations against Belafonte:

He choked her in November of 2007.

It was the night of the Dancing with the Stars finale, Brown asserts, and she was getting ready at home when her then-husband placed both of his hands around her neck and slammed her down on the hardwood floors.

Any time she achieved a level of success, Brown alleges, Belafonte would “beat me down to let me know he was in charge.”

He punched her in the face in July of 2012.

In this detailed incident, Brown says she was a judge on The X Factor when she was leaving to tape a segment with Usher.

At this, Belafonte punched his wife a closed fist in the face, splitting open her lip.

When she asked how she was supposed to work with the injury, Belafonte supposedly screamed that she should have thought of that before deciding to “flirt with and f-cj Usher.”

He punched and shoved her in August of 2012.

The day after Brown performed at the closing ceremonies at the London Olympics, Belafonte reportedly punched her again with a closed fist and pushed her down on the carpet.

The artist’s face “actually scabbed over the rug burns,” Brown writes, adding that Belafonte then forced her to Tweet that she injured herself by running on 7″ Christian Louboutin heels.

He cheated on her with the nanny and got his mistress pregnant.

Brown says Stephen told her he wanted to have the baby and “all three of us live together.”

She explains that Belafonte eventually demanded the (unnamed) nanny get an abortion. She also claims Stephen paid the nanny in excess of $ 300,000 of Mel B’s money “for alleged nanny services.”

He threatened her life.

After Brown downed a bottle of Aspirin in 2014 to deal with “emotional and physical exhaustion,” she tried to call the authorities for help.

But she says Belafonte hurled her in the bedroom, locked the door and told her “to die, bitch.”

He blackmailed her with sex tapes.

Brown says Stephen is in possession sex tapes of her and often threatened to release them to ruin her career.

He made her participate in threesomes.

Brown added that her soon-to-be ex forced her to “participate in sexual intercourse with him and random women” and he would frequently secretly record the encounters.

She says when she attempted to resist these threesome, he’d threaten to release the sex tapes.

He made it impossible for her to leave him.

Brown says she tried over the years, but Stephen “threatened me with violence and threatened to destroy my life in every possible way … destroy my career and take my kids from me.”

He has a gun.

It’s either a .38 or .357 magnum and it’s against the law because Belafonte is prohibited from carrying firearms as part of a domestic violence conviction stemming from an incident with another woman years ago.

In addition to granted the restraining order in this case, the judge ordered Belafonte to leave the family residence in the Hollywood Hills.

He went to the home late Monday afternoon, TMZ reports, packed up most of his belongings, and told a photographer in the vicinity that these allegations are untrue.
