You’d be forgiven for thinking the Duchess of Cambridge sounds a little bit like Veruca Salt, if this new report is anything to go by.
Celebrity Dirty Laundry claims that Catherine is “demanding a Royal holiday with Prince George and Princess Charlotte” after seeing personal photos shared by Princess Madeleine of Sweden on Facebook.
Madeleine, who married Anglo-American Chris O’Neill in June 2013, approaches her position with a more laid-back attitude, partially because there is a larger demand for photos of the British royals.
On January 20th, Her Royal Highness posted personal photos from a family vacation in the Maldives, after being pursued by the paparazzi.
“Family time, sadly interrupted,” Madeleine wrote on Facebook. “What a pity we weren’t just asked for photos, because here are some sweet ones.”
The mom showed off photos of her two children, Princess Leonore (who turns 2 next month) and Prince Nicolas, 7 months, enjoying the warm weather.
CDL alleges that Catherine wants to show off “casual photos” of her own family, which is hard to imagine given how fiercely protective she and William are of their two children.
Another point to negate this story is that Catherine takes an annual holiday with her own family to the Caribbean island of Mustique around this time of year
Since reasonable explanations are boring, let’s just pretend Catherine is stomping her feet inside Kensington Palace and throwing iPads at her aides, screaming, “I’m natural! I let my children eat ice cream on the beach! MY FAMILY IS SO CASUAL.”
CDL leaves you with these questions:
“Would Queen Elizabeth consider sanctioning a tropical vacation for Prince William, Duchess Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte?
“Even if Queen Elizabeth were to do so would Her Majesty allow the Duchess of Cambridge to willy-nilly share photos on Twitter or Facebook without permission?”
I need a lie-down.
