Eliot Spitzer Accused of Choking Girlfriend in NYC

Eliot Spitzer is once again in trouble with the law.

The ex-New York governor has been accused of assault by a 25-year-old unidentified woman, who alleges that the disgraced politician is her boyfriend and that he violently placed his hands around her neck on Saturday, February 13.

The supposed incident took place at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.

As we type this, the 56-year old Democrat has not been charged with any crimes.

“The victim has indicated that the subject is Eliot Spitzer,” the New York Police Department told CNN in a statement. “Through an ongoing investigation, we are attempting to further establish the identity of the subject and the nature of the incident.”

Through a spokesperson, meanwhile, Spitzer denies all charges, saying simply:

“There is no truth to the allegation.”

An insider also tells CNN that the woman – who claims she and Spitzer were engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical – was taken to the hospital with self-inflicted cuts to her wrists.

This same insider says Spitzer was on hand at the hospital, donning a hat to hide his face.

Spitzer and his ex-wife, Silda Wall, divorced in 2014, six years after Spitzer resigner his gubernatorial position following his involvement in a prostitution scandal.
