Katie May Cause of Death: Revealed, Tragic

A few months after Katie May died at the young age of 34, new information has surfaced regarding this model’s unexpected passing.

As previously revealed, the woman known as The Queen of Instagram lost her life as the result of a stroke, with initial reports claiming that May pinched a nerve after taking a hard fall during a photo shoot.

It was then believed, however, that May tore the carotid artery in her neck… which led to a blood clot… which caused a fatal development known as carotid artery dissection.

After spending days in critical condition, May was taken off life support while surrounded by loved ones in early February.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner, per TMZ, this rundown of May’s death is mostly accurate.

However, the injury that precipitated May’s stroke was NOT caused by any sort of fall.

To be clear, she did take a tumble during a photo shoot and she did visit a chiropractor as a result.

But it was during this visit when things took a turn for the tragic.

Having obtained a copy of the model’s death certificate, TMZ confirms that the 34-year old passed away when “a blunt force injury tore her left vertebral artery,” cutting off blood flow to her brain in the process.

The official document also says the injury was sustained during a “neck manipulation by chiropractor.”

Her death has been listed as accidental.

At this time, May’s family has been made aware of the coroner’s findings.

It is unknown if they will pursue legal action against the chiropractor, however.

In an interview with The Huffington Post prior to her passing, May explained that left the father of her child to start her own public relations firm. It eventually collapsed due to the recession.

She then rose to the level of Vice President at an entertainment company… until one day where she decided to take a couple photos while on a run. The photos went viral and a new career was born.

She said in the article that she was attempting to balance “sex sells” with being a strong, intelligent, self-sufficient woman.

“I’m showing people you can be intelligent and a model,” she said. “You can do more than sell protein and tea on social media and you don’t have to be a movie star or musician to have influence.”

May Katie May rest in peace.
