Rob Kardashian has a Dream.
We mean this literally, of course, as the famous sock designer welcomed a daughter by this name in November.
Since then, however, Rob has split from former fiancee Blac Chyna.
And while the couple has not lashed out at each other in public since their latest split, multiple sources have said there’s tension when it comes to their child.
For example:
“I expect things to get ugly,” a source told Radar Online last week. “Chyna wants full custody with Rob only getting visitations.”
Various leaks (dropped by Chyna?) have hinted that Rob is back to drinking, maybe doing drugs and eating an excessive amount.
There seems to be a smear campaign out there that is seeking to discredit the reality star as a father.
And Rob appears to be aware that his future with little Dream may be in jeopardy.
“Saying bye to my beautiful baby girl … she is smiling at me,” Kardashian penned on Instagram a couple weeks ago, adding:
“U see how she looking at her daddy. I literally can’t get enough of this girl.”
Will he have to in the near future, however?
Not if he and mother Kris Jenner can help it.
“Rob wants dual custody of their child and Blac Chyna is giving pushback,” an insider explains to People Magazine.
The mother of two is hesitant to give Rob a lot of access to his daughter, out of spite; out of concern for her well-being; or perhaps a combination of the two.
“They are still figuring things out, but she will certainly do whatever it takes to have Dream be with her for the majority of the time,” the insider says, adding of Kris:
“[Jenner] is backing Rob up 100 percent and won’t let Chyna get away with anything that’s less than fair.”
It may be a challenge, though, even for someone as rich and powerful as Kris Jenner.
Rob and Chyna are not married. The former does have a history of substance abuse. And courts nearly always side with the mother in custody disputes.
But still.
“Kris thinks that the fact that Blac wants to go after full custody of Dream is just hilarious,” another source tells Radar. “She would obviously never allow that to happen.”
Rob, who has famously feuded with members of his family, can at least take solace in their support throughout this struggle.
“The entire Kardashian family is there for Rob as well and supports him wholeheartedly,” People Magazine writes.
“They are prepared to protect him in whatever way they need to.”
That sounds ominous and sort of scary. We’re not sure what is being implied there.
However, Rob has battled depression, weight gain and type 2 diabetes in recent years. His sisters have seen the sort of positive impact fatherhood has had on him and they want it to continue.
They may not get their way for once, though.
