Flip or Flop Season 8: Will It Happen?!?

Since filing for divorce in December, Tarek and Christina El Moussa have been in the market for new significant others.

But should the reality stars also be in the market for new lines of work?

This question has been hanging over Tarek and Christina ever since news of their separation spread around the World Wide Web late last year.

The couple has co-hosted Flip or Flop on HGTV for nearly seven seasons, but confirmed they were no longer married and in love via a joint statement four months ago.

It referenced a major argument from last May, one that involved Christina actually calling the cops on Tarek because she feared he would harm himself after he left their house in a huff.

With a gun.

The incident was eventually settled without any kind of violence and without any charges being pressed, but the El Moussas have been under scrutiny ever since.

They’ve also been directly in the spotlight, with Christina opening up to a number of magazines and news outlets and pretty clearly taking steps to branch out on her own.

And now we think we know why.

According to the latest issue of In Touch Weekly, Flip or Flop will come to an end after Season 7, which airs later this year.

“They won’t go beyond what they’ve already shot,” an insider tells the tabloid, adding;

“There will be only the spin-off shows with the new couples in different cities. Christina El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa won’t be filming more episodes. Season 7 is their last.”

In 2016, Flip or Flop was the network’s second-highest rated series.

Executives are looking to piggyback off this success via FIVE spinoff shows set in five different cities across the country.

But none of them will feature Tarek or Christina, who do want to keep going as co-hosts on the original version.

TMZ reports the pair are actively negotiating for an eighth season, despite their personal differences, because ratings have actually held steady in the wake of their split.

But In Touch cites multiple sources who say Tarek should take a cue from his estranged wife and plan for a future on his own.

“She’s shopping an interior design show around,” an insider says of Christina.

“She’s drawing a lot of interest and feels HGTV will let her out of her contract. She has impressed several people at other networks who can give her a new show. They think she’s a hot commodity.”

Well, she’s certainly hot, that much was made clear last week when Christina unveiled a number of new bikini photos:

The Flip or Flop Season 6 finale will air on March 30.

All Season 7 episodes have been filmed, although HGTV is yet to announce a premiere date for the next (and final?) run of the program.

Asked for a comment on the future of the series, a network rep would merely say the following:

“Flip or Flop still is in active production on Season 7 of the series. No additional new info to share beyond that statement.”

Do you want to see Christina and Tarek continue as co-hosts of Flip or Flop? Does their divorce actually increase your interest in the show?

Or is it time for them to go their separate ways, personally and professionally?
