Emily Ratajkowski has gone naked on Instagram.
And we know what you’re thinking:
Didn’t the sun also rise in the East today? Didn’t a Duggar announce she was pregnant? Didn’t Donald Trump Tweet something totally bat $ hit crazy and false?
In other words: what’s new?!?
It certainly is fair to say that Ratajkowski often poses in her birthday suit on social media.
But sometimes those photos need to come with an asterisk.

So it’s true. She’s nude.
But her knees are also pulled way up and she isn’t revealing a single private part. What a rip-off, right?!?

It features Ratajkowski lying in some very shallow beach water while on vacation in Mexico… and she’s frickin naked.

“La Sirena,” Ratajkowski wrote as a very simple caption to the photo, which has been Liked over 852,000 times in just 24 hours.
That’s incredible. That takes serious talent to accomplish.
Or a seriously hot body. One or the other.
In a recent interview with InStyle, Ratajkowski talked about her body and how some haters out there have given her flak for showing it off on such a frequent basis.
“The main criticism I get is ‘Aren’t you just conforming to a patriarchal standard of beauty?’” she said at the time, adding by way of an answer:
“This is just the body I was given. I didn’t do anything to it – it’s just my body. But even if I had altered it, that would be fine too.”
Ratajkowski also considers herself a feminist, taking part in the Women’s March in January and writing as a caption to a photo of herself at the nationwide protest:
“Today was important symbolically. But tomorrow and the days after are even more important. It’s time not only to stand for things generally but to take political action and demand systemic change.”
The brunette further addressed her critics (while riding a horse naked) in July of last year, speaking to Harper’s Bazaar about her reputation.
“You know, when Lena Dunham takes her clothes off, she gets flak, but it’s also considered brave,” Ratajkowski told the magazine, adding:
“When Justin Bieber takes his shirt off, he’s a grown-up.
“But when a woman who is sexual takes off her top, it plays into something.”
She’s sort of right.
There may be a double standard applied when a gorgeous woman gets naked versus when an overweight woman gets naked.
But that’s because the overweight woman is likely sending a message about body-shaming and self-confidence and trying to help others in her situation feel good about themselves.
The gorgeous woman is just showing off what God gave her.
Moreover, Ratajkowski would have a better case to make if she was known for anything other than getting naked.
Durham is a brilliant writer. Bieber is a great dancer.
When Ratajkowski gives us something to discuss other than her boobs, we’ll talk less often about her boobs.
That’s something for her to think about the next time she’s lying on a beach nude, and hopefully sharing the experience with us on social media.
