Ashley McNeely Found Dead, Former Reality Star Was 35

Sad news today out of the world of television:

Ashley McNeely, a former reality TV contestant best known for having appeared on A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila, was found dead at his home in West Virginia.

He as 35 years old.

According to TMZ sources, McNeeley’s body was found on Thursday by police after they responded to reports of an incident at his residence.

No other details are known at this time.

Back in 2007, McNeely appeared as a contestant on MTV’s A Shot at Love, a bisexual-themed reality dating game show that aimed to fix Tequila up with potential suitors.

Think of The Bachelor, but with both men and women competing for the attention and heart of the star.

McNeely also helped anchor the program’s spin-off, That’s Amore, during which Shot at Love contestant Domenico Nesci searched for love with McNeely’s assistance.

That series aired in 2008 and McNeely appeared on six episodes as Nesci’s right-hand man.

In 2004, McNeely actually rang in the New Year with Ryan Seacrest for ABC’s famous Times Square crystal ball drop.

McNeely lasted for four episodes on A Shot at Love, with Tila eliminating him as a contestant because she thought he was falling too hard and too quickly for her.

At that time, Tequila was a pretty well-known D-Lister around the Internet.

She’s since fallen on very hard times, recently making the Nazi salute online and getting herself tossed off Twitter as a result.

But it was considered a big deal a decade ago for McNeely to star opposite Tila; his role on A Shot at Love provided him with 15 Minutes of Fame many years ago.
