Back in February, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard returned to Central America for a second round of missionary work in an impoverished village in El Salvador.
The move was controversial for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that Jill is pregnant with her second child.
Fans were concerned about Derick Dillard’s health issues, as well as the possibility that Jill would deliver her second child in a hospital with sub-par safety and cleanliness standards.
Now it looks as though those fans can breathe a deep sigh of relief.
Jill and Derick are back in the States, and many fans are wondering if their return means more than they’re letting on.
Jill shared the news with fans yesterday via a selfie that appears to have been taken in her hometown of Tontitown, Arkansas.
She captioned the photo:
“So grateful to be back in the States and get to go to our church this morning @crosschurch #Israeliswithgrandma #lovetheUSA,.”
Yes, Jill is clearly happy to be home for the obvious reasons, but there could be more to her excitement than meets the eye.
Fans have been speculating that Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth got married over the weekend, and many see Jill and Derick’s return home as proof of the secretive nuptials.
Of course, Jill and Derick were on a strict timeline, as it’s inadvisable for pregnant women to fly in their third trimester, and the Dillards stated from the start that they intended to return home in order for Jill to deliver her baby in Arkansas.
So it could be that Joy-Anna and Austin timed their wedding to coincide with the Dillards’ return.
But the fact that Jill and Derick “suddenly” flew back to the States is certainly not sufficient proof of a low-key wedding.
Whatever their reason, it’s clear that Jill and Derick are happy to be back in the US, and it looks as though they’ll be staying home for the foreseeable future.
Of course, we’re sure the lure of making a difference abroad will eventually call to them again.
