Adele Says "Hello" to 2017 Grammy Awards: WATCH!

Why…. hello there, Adele!

A year after stumbling through a Grammy Awards performance that was marred by technical difficulties, everyone"s favorite British singer opened the 2017 version of the event by belting out one of her all-time classics.

In front of a packed crowd inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, Adele simply stood on stage Sunday night and did what she does best:

Sing.

The 28-year old dazzles in a sparkling dress during a rendition of “Hello,” hitting every note perfectly and performing with the sort of heart and soul we"ve grown used to hearing from one of the world" best artists.

And then she closed the number with a shout-out to her four-year old son.

"Hello baby," she said sweetly after completing the song, presumably a reference to little Angelo James at home.

Before the ceremony began, Adele won the Grammys for best pop solo performance (for “Hello”) and best pop vocal album (for 25).

She"s pretty darn good, isn"t she?

Along with an Album of the Year nomination, meanwhile, Adele"s latest record earned a pop vocal album of the year nomination, while "Hello,” was up for record of the year, song of the yearand best pop solo performance.

Check out her opening number now:

Taylor Swift Performs Pre-Super Bowl Show: Her Only Show of 2017?!

Today is a very special, very sacred day for the good ol" U.S.A. — it"s Super Bowl Sunday, friends!

As people all across the country gather together to eat food and watch football (or the commercials that air in between the football bits), we must also give thanks to all the celebrities that make this such an important event.

There"s Lady Gaga, for instance, who will be performing for the halftime show.

But there"s also Taylor Swift, who did a pretty impressive pre-Super Bowl show herself last night in Houston.

She performed some old classics like "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me," and she also did some newer hits like "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space."

She even performed a solo acoustic version of her new song with Zayn Malik, "I Don"t Wanna Live Forever," which you can watch below.

But the most interesting moment of the night was when she told the audience that she wasn"t planning on doing another performance for a long, long time.

"As far as I know," Taylor said, "I"m only doing one show in 2017, and as far as I know, this is that show."

"So what I"m trying to tell you is, by coming here tonight, you"re essentially attending 100 percent of my tour dates for the year, so thank you!"

As you might recall, she only did one show in 2016, too.

So what"s up with Taylor? Is she over being a pop star? Is she just taking a long, long break?

Either way, watch an apparently rare performance in the video below:

Groundhog Day 2017 Prediction: SHADOW! Winter to Continue!

Groundhog Day 2017 is officially upon us, and the forecast – from the Weather Capitol of the World, a.k.a. Punxsutawney, Pa. – is in.

Ah yes. This morning marked that magical moment when Punxsutawney Phil emerges from Gobbler’s Knob to answer the eternal question …

Will we have to endure six more weeks of snow, wind, ice and other winter “fun” or will an early spring reprieve come sooner than that?

Only Punxsy Phil and his shadow can say with certainty.

And he has done so, moments ago in the heart of Western Pennsylvania, laying the weather smack down on us all. The rodent’s verdict:

SHADOW! Winter will continue for a month and a half!

Phil, who emerged from his burrow moments ago to find conditions just bright enough to see his shadow in Western Pa., has spoken.

According to folklore, this is all we need to know.

The appearance of Phil’s shadow, now sighted a whopping 102 times since 1887, means winter will carry on as per usual in North America.

When Phil does not peep that, spring comes early.

Such was not the case today, as the prognosticator “told” this to the president of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, Bill Deeley, at 7:22 a.m.

As to whether scientists agree with his outlook?

History, and sophisticated National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration models, suggest that Phil’s accuracy is marginal at best.

The accuracy of the venerable, meteorologically inclined rodent’s prediction is secondary, of course, to the true meaning of Groundhog Day.

Which is … we have no earthly idea honestly.

It’s basically just a fun reason to get out there one early February day and appreciate the wondrous power, mystery and majesty of nature.

Or recite Bill Murray Groundhog Day quotes.

Why? Because how can you not. And remember this fun fact … whether there’s an early spring or not, 2/2 marks the mid-point of winter.

That’s right, it’s halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox (a little fun trivia for you there), so either way, the end is nigh!

Sort of! February is a short month and the days are already getting longer, slightly … so hey, there’s that too. Hang in there, America.

Hang in there.

Punxsutawney Phil: Groundhog Day Sage Set to Nail 2017 Weather Forecast … Maybe

The rodent. The myth. The legend.

Punxsutawney Phil, the Western Pennsylvania great without whom Groundhog Day would not be a thing, is hours away from doing HIS thing:

Making his annual prediction early Thursday morning, LIVE from the Keystone State, to inform the masses how early 2017 will shake out.

Will there be a shadow sighting, thus signaling six more weeks of winter? Or will there be no shadow, and thus, an early spring on the horizon?

Only Punxsutawney Phil knows.

Groundhog Day, of course, is when the affable, rotund critter emerges from Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pa., at bitter cold daybreak.

He either sees his shadow or he doesn’t. A lot rides on this, given that if there is a shadow sighting, six more weeks of winter remain.

No shadow? Early spring, baby!

The odds of that are not great.

In 119 years, Punxsutawney Phil has predicted the coming of “early spring” but 18 times, not a shock since he lives in Western Pennsylvania.

Not to mention, one of those times was 2013, when record snowfall totals proceeded to pound much of the U.S. not even a week later.

On the flip side, he’s basically nailed it three straight years since that debacle, with shadow sightings portending wintry weather in 2014-15.

In 2016, Phil did not see his shadow and North America saw its mildest winter in recorded history throughout much of this great continent.

Hopefully, Punxsy decides to get some rest tonight and not watch Arrow online. We need him on his game, because too much is at stake.

The current forecast for Thursday a.m. for the Weather Capitol of the World is cloudy with a chance of snow showers, for what it’s worth.

How it plays out is anyone’s guess.

No one can say. Except Phil.

So just sit back, relax, think about your favorite scenes from Groundhog Day the movie and bask in the glory that is this American holiday.

The way things are going so far in 2017, we could all use a respite from political and cultural tumult. Punxsy Phil is here to give it to us.

For that, we thank him.

Miss Universe 2017: Who Took Home the Crown?

A new woman is in the charge of the whole entire galaxy.

On Sunday night, while The Crown was being honored at the 2017 SAG Awards, a crown was being placed in the head of a new Miss Universe.

But which beauty earned this mostly meaningless and very much sexist distinction?

The three-hour event opened with host Steve Harvey taking to the stage and joking about the way in which he announced the wrong winner last year.

In a “meeting” to kick off the Fox broadcast, the comedian convened with a group of security professionals and said the following:

“If something happens at the end, if I get this name wrong, I step to the right, and I drop down in this trap door.”

He quipped that as he escaped, the other men would be responsible for finding someone who looks exactly like Harvey to bring on stage.

Harvey then joked to the crowd that he had undergone “eye surgery” to ensure he would not make a similar mistake this time around.

And then reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach came out to prove there were no hard feelings, thanking Harvey for making her the “most popular” Miss Universe ever.

Ashley Graham also played a role at the ceremony, speaking at one point backstage to Miss Canada, Siera Bearchell, about body image and confidence.

“We are confident with ourselves. We love ourselves,” Bearchell said, advising girls facing similar issues to “focus on what you love about yourself” because “that’s what’s important.”

It was an important message to send.

Later on, Harvey had to laugh over the fact that both Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines, the women he mixed up in 2016, advanced to the final six.

But the latter did not make the final three.

In the end, after the audience strangely booed a few contestants for using interpreters, Miss France was crowned Miss Universe 2017.

And Iris Mittenaere could not have looked more shocked to hear her named called.

A native of Paris, the 24-year old is pursuing a degree in dental surgery.

She plans to use her Miss Universe platform to advocate for dental and oral hygiene.

During the competition’s question-and-answer, session, Mittenaere praised France’s open borders and refugee population, touching on the most controversial issue facing America right now..

“In France, we want to have the most globalization that we can, we want to have the biggest exchange of people that we can,” Mittenaere told the judges, adding:

“Having open borders allows us to travel more through the world and to find out more about what’s out there in the world.”

The answer sat well with those in charge of choosing the champion.

Congratulations to Iris Mittenaere!

Let’s hope her name never appears in the above photo gallery!
